Kelston Tyres & Car Repairs provided a warrant of fitness for our car today. The service was excellent, marked by professionalism and honesty. Highly recommended for their reliability and transparent communication.

Had me go back and forth. Bad communication and lazy service. No work has been done and side of the vehicle had scratches when I got it back. Please be vigilant to anyone using this shop

I really wanted to give these guys the benefit of doubt but they have behaved with dishonesty, lack of integrity and unprofessionally. They said one thing on the phone, said something else in person and did something entirely different in the end. They put the wrong sized tyre on my car, different brand of air filter to what was agreed to, deliberately damaged a fragile side mirror in order to warrant for urgent repair to allow for maximum profit for them. When I returned to have the problem rectified, instead of an apology, I was met with hostility and frustration.
I later found out other members of my family have had even worse experiences and dealings with this company. I will be making a formal complaint to NZTA.

The place was recommended by one friend of mine, called one of the mechanics there, and he booked me in for 8am, at 8am no one was there, 3 mechanics arrived at 8: 20am no one knew about my booking, I called the mechanic and he said he would be in at 9am or 9: 30am. A completely waste of time. Mechanic messaged: this is not a groceries shop you buy milk and walk away after 10 min, this made no sense whatsoever. If he had said be there at 9: 30am, at 9: 25am I would be there. You guys need someone to look after your bookings, this guy I called was a mess. Lost yourself a customer.

I’ve been coming to these guys for probably 3 years now and I’ll keep coming and supporting until they close their doors indefinitely. Boss man is very thorough and tells you exactly what’s wrong and gives you a price so you know what you’re in for. However, I’m pretty sure the boys are probably sick of seeing my car (Holden commy) in their shop because I sure am sure there’s minor things that show up that aren’t explained but I understand when something is broken, you can’t get it back to it’s original state 100 percent. All in all, I’m always happy with their service and appreciate the knowledge & workmanship they uphold.

I’ve been going to this mechanic since 2020 for WOF / other repair work and have always found their prices reasonable. I’ve only ever dealt with Naveet who explains things in detail before any work is carried out, returns my vehicle back on time and looks over the car inside to ensure it’s clean before returning each time. I would recommend Kelston Tires to other customers who are looking for an efficient and knowledgeable mechanic.

Called the place up to ask if they had 235/35/19 hiflys, the boss in charge was busy talking to someone else while still answering me over the fone, he heard 225 and I corrected him by saying 235 twice over the fone, he said he's got 2 in stock, went over got it done, came home to see the tyre looking slightly smaller, realised then he put on 225, went back just for him to deny his fault and tell me he remembers me saying 225, firstly this guy doesn't listen properly as he's always occupied with too many things at once, the fact that he didn't even take the fault, no sorry or anything, wasted time coming back and waiting more, wouldn't recommend as I don't think their reliable with work, would have to be careful and check things.

These guys are freaking awesome super quick and super cheap was shoked when he told me the cost of the belt changes was expecting it to be twice as much as looking at it myself would have been an extremely prickly job. Highly recommended disregard the negatives some people can't be pleased and clearly just like to moan my partner has been using their services for years without issue.

Love these guys! I trust them for keeping my modest 2008 car working and warrantable and genuinely appreciate how accomodating and efficient they are. Wholeheartedly recommend them. I get very little time in a busy 6 day working week and they graciously fit in my minor checks at short notice and have taken care of my more significant issues on a very fast one day turnaround. Super grateful to them for the peace of mind they give me.

Took my perfectly redone car from insurance straight to here for a WOF. They dented my car and wouldn't accept responsibility. Even showed them the tool that did it.

Absolute ripped off. Poor service, not professional. DO NOT GO TO KELSTON TYRE, READ ALL NEGATIVE REVIEW.

There is only one guy that doing WOF and he always come up with something to fix. The last time I went there for WOF and got told both front lower arm bushing splitting to comply. That was my 3rd car in 3 months and all have something to fix. The common repair is parking brake excess travel to comply or Left front wheel play to comply, and cost of WOF no longer $40 but around $120-$150 could be more, in my last case it cost me $390, and as usual NO INVOICE, no breakdown parts and labour, they left oil stain on seat, door panel, steering wheel.

NZTA should look into their practice, too many negative feedback for this garage because they are bunch of dishonest people who abusing their authority by ripping off vulnerable people. The bad feedback given by others in this review are true, don’t go there for warrant, they will telling you to fix for unnecessary repair, very disappointing service.

Great mechanical workshop with experienced staff and professional service. They can sell and fit tires, arrange any mechanical repair including major jobs, like engine or gearbox replacement.
The best of all they offer reasonable price and manage to complete repairs in timely manner.

Had the best experience here! Cheap good quality tyre and they put it on for me free of charge, very quick and professional, I will be coming back for future car services!
