Had a tough experience with this team. Very poor at communicating. Quality of the kitchen is ok however there was a design issue with the LED light under a cabinet and under my dishwasher that almost took 6 months to get back to me about. If i could do this again probably would go with Kitchen Studios

Very pleased with the overall design and high quality of the kitchen. It’s a pleasure to use and the space is wonderful to be in. Hopefully some of the issues around door installation processes can be sorted as this was average. Please note, this is a separate company to Kitchen Story. Communication to the customer could be improved.

We went to Kitchen Story/Mastercraft Kitchens after speaking to a number of kitchen designers and cabinet makers, and what really impressed us was the level of service and care, by Hannah - super star designer - and after that by Alexey, Greg, and the production & installation team.

We were new to kitchen rebuilds, so they really made us feel looked after. Despite our many changes, questions, and requests, the team was there for us.

The end result is also really awesome - so beautiful, and so much more storage space within the same footprint. We love our new kitchen so much that I could barely bring myself to use it:) but of course I have now, and it is working really well.

Highly recommend this company to anyone needing a new kitchen. From designer to completion everyone was friendly and professional. It’s been a very positive experience and we love our new kitchen. Well done Velya and team.

We were excited about our new kitchen but a little daunted by the process. The staff at Kitchen Story were extremely helpful and informative during the design process, giving us a design we were thrilled with and within our budget.

I would like to say Thank you to Kitchen Story team for an absolutely stunning kitchen and Laundry design. I have come to NZ from South Korea, we have very specific taste different to NZ and Kitchen Story is the only company who has been able to assist us with great customer service. Their designers speak several languages including Korean. The quality of the cabinets and the installation process is an absolute craftsmanship. There were some some delays with materials but the Kitchen Story team had sorted out the supply by providing us with a better more expensive upgrade for free of charge. We love the design they have come up with. It is functional, beautiful and welcoming. All our friends love it. Kitchen Story Designers are NKBA certified with huge expertise in this industry. They have provided us with technical knowledge, found out the best functionality for the kitchen. The cost for the kitchen and laundry was surprisingly more cost effective than the other companies had provided. The installation process took three days, the team was professional, polite and very accurate. The benchtop people were very nice too. Our whole experience with Kitchen Story is unforgettable. We know we have been a very difficult clients with very unique taste and difficult space and you are the only company who has helped us to realise our dream project. Extremely disappointed with this company. They are designers only. Everything else from production to installation is contracted out. Therefore there are major issues with quality control and communication. Our kitchen was late installed that led to delays with the flooring, plumbing and electrical. We are wanting to sell our property and the kitchen and laundry are still not complete - MONTHS after these people were paid in full before they would start production.
We received damaged door/drawer fronts, there were missing pieces, one cabinet that was put together at the factory was assembled incorrectly so when the glass shelves were installed the shelves were on a slope!   The glass sliding doors to the same cabinet were not assembled correctly and one pane of glass had fallen out of the casing.
The communication between the designer and client as to specifics on what is included in the kitchen as standard and what is additional is non-existent. We went to the showroom and were shown all these features and said that yes, we wanted those things and we stupidly assumed they were included. Apparently not- and now, if we want them, we have to pay more money to get these features retrofitted.
I originally wanted corner drawers to avoid having a blind corner cupboard and the designer convinced me to go with a swinging pull-out unit instead. That is "not in the country" apparently and rather than advise us of this issue before we approved the drawings, they went ahead and the kitchen parts were delivered without communication regarding the missing pull out rack. Now we have a blind cupboard and are told the pull out unit will not be available until February so we have to market our property advising potential buyers that this "will be coming" (if it ever does)
I requested a pantry with pocket doors because it is in a thoroughfare and the designer said that would be "no problem".   It's been a nightmare in reality with incorrect measurements and nobody taking responsibility for rectifying the issue.   Now the doors to the pantry are too short and new ones have to be made to replace them!   There is also a shelf missing- it's on the plans and the designer is fobbing it off to the production contractors rather than admit that they don't follow up on and check the cabinets and shelving etc before it leaves the factory.
We've had contractors arrive at the house unannounced during weekends and evenings- one was quite rude and argumentative and didn't seen to have received a copy of the plans before arriving on site.
The bench top installers turned up unannounced on a Saturday afternoon and damaged the newly painted and plastered ceiling installing the kitchen bench.
We've had several different contractors come to install the cabinets over the months.
There has been so many issues I'm completely over it.
Because we are technically not their client (the builder and project manager carrying out the renovations is) Kitchen Story have been condescending and dismissive of my frustration and anger at their incompetence.
This has been an extremely upsetting and stressful experience.
Please- avoid this company.   You will be much better off finding an all-in-one provider who will manage the process from inital consult to installation and will have better in-house quality control and communication.   I hope the builder and project manager will not use this company in future either because their shoddy service and product is a poor reflection on the contractors who choose to work with them.

We were doing up our beach house in Pauanui and needed a great new kitchen without breaking the bank that was going to stand up to a busy environment. After working with several different kitchen companies our decision to use Kitchen Story was easy. They were friendly, helpful, the plans and designs were extremely well presented so we could see our future kitchen clearly coming into reality and the price was the best for such a good quality kitchen. We still have some finishing details to do and will post the finished result soon but we highly recommend Alexey and the team to anyone looking for a new kitchen!
