Kushi Japanese Restaurant

We’ve just had the best meal we’ve eaten this year… and it’s nearly November! Beautiful quality food, served in ambient surroundings, by knowledgeable staff who clearly genuinely care about their customers - it’s a winning combo.
Kushi present an intriguing menu that really delivers. I had dish envy watching amazing plates of food being served to other tables, yet when my meal promptly arrived, I wasn’t disappointed - it looked stunning, smelt divine, and well, as I’ve already stated, made the other near 300 dinners I’ve eaten this year, pale by comparison. And I wasn’t alone, my partner was greatly impressed with his food too.
Highly recommended!

Ok but not really for a vegetarian. Would be good to see the dishes on photographs so you know what to order

Their portion was small but because we ordered over 3 appetites, the portion of the dinner was good. I had a lemon and honey iced tea and it was very good

Our favorite Japanese restaurant so much so that we drove from Palmerston North specially to dine after booking return flights to Auckland only to find they had relocated to Hamilton. Thankfully we tracked them down and had our favorite dishes Beef Tataki and Spicy Chicken but the whole menu is delicious.

Surprised how high this place is rated, well, I didn't like it. The price is overcharged, food was really disappointing, the atmosphere felt un.motivated. I guess, different dishes for different wishers. I can only wish them good luck, as I won't be returning.

I came here in my pyjamas because I was craving Sushi and this restaurant was the only place that was still open. First time here I ordered the vegetarian roll for takeout and it was the yummest.the staff were real friendly. Chur

Amazing food, beautifully presented. Sashimi and Tempura are delicious, we've tried both their lunch and dinner menu and it's been great.

We had a pleasant experience at Kushi. From the beginning, the customer service is top notch. The nigiri was very fresh. Our favourite was the soft shell crab roll. Definitely would recommend ️

The taste is ok, not that good but not too bad. But the waiting time is too long. More than two hours for valentines special, most time waiting. Only two menus to choose from, how could it be so slow? And such little portion, two taco for two people, left with empty stomach.

Understand the kitchen is busy but no excuse for the terrible service. If you cannot handle these many customers then do not take the reservations. It supposed to be a lovely memory but now only feel tricked at the end.

Highly recommend. The foods are awesome, and really love the layout and enjoy the background music in here, these make me feel relaxed. The waiters are very enthusiastic to us and will fill us with water in time and take care of what we need.

Meals were great however not many choices on the lunch menu. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service there, finding car park was pain

Honestly, Kushi is the best Japanese restaurant. The ambient is beautiful the staffs are lovely and the food is next level delicious. Totally recommend it.

We went to Kushi for our Christmas meal, they were very accommodating to all the different dietary needs. Generous portions of good quality food, lovely setting. Thank you to all the staff. ️

There is no other Japanese restaurant in Hamilton if you are sushi or sashimi lovers. Other traditional menu are also fantastic. More than 100% recommended.

Such sweet staff members and amazing food! I love the fact that they are a halal japanese restaurant which gives more options to choose from. 10/10 would definitely go again.:)

Best Japanese in Hamilton. Went here with some friends, we ordered Beef Tataki and Karaage chicken for our starters and pork belly, crunch prawn roll and combination tempura for main. Everything was delicious and fresh! Portion sizes were so good. Very good value for money. Will definitely be back and will tell my friends and family about how good this is

This is my new favourite restaurant in Hamilton and I mean it. I came here and ordered the breadcrumbed cheese, rainbow sushi roll, eggplant, and spicy crunchy shrimp as well as miso soup and rice.

The food was absolutely fantastic and I have nothing negative to say at all. Incredibly delicious and the sushi was so luxurious with lots of sashimi and condiments. There is such attention to detail and everything is presented beautifully. It was incredibly delicious.

Service was top notch. You are getting an experience. The waitress we had was SO friendly and informative and she could not have been kinder or more attentive.

It has a really pleasant more formal/elegant atmosphere. Great for a special occassion or just when you want really amazing food. You do pay a top price but it is completely worth it. I will absolutely revisit this place soon.
