A little disappointed coz there weren’t many businesses, a little smaller than I have expected, not a lot of french food options, mainly pastries.

Poor experience at the chili source shop! The Middle-aged lady offered us free trial. And then she pushed us to buy three containers for $20! We decided to not buy any because the chili sauce was too sweet. And then she shouted at us and accused of us not buying anything after trying the sauce for free! She still kept shouting loudly when we walked away! Terrible experience!

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had. Came here on a Sunday for my friends birthday meal. She asked for no salmon with her meal- no problem. I specifically told them I have an allergy to eggs so I wanted the mushroom Benedict but asked if instead of the egg they could replace it with more mushrooms. I was told no way, and that eggs had to go with it instead of swapping it for more mushrooms. My friend told me I could just place the eggs on her plate as a solution and I did that. This could’ve been so much easier if they just accommodated to people with food allergies and intolerances. The meal I received looked like something I could’ve made at home. Definitely will not be returning- don’t go there if you have any allergies.

Great market close to the CBD area. The humus stall is really good - my girlfriend and I couldn’t leave without buying 5 different ones. Also, the hotdog stall (where you got to choose your sausage) is amazing. Really tasty hotdogs.
One thing - I think a small bar with beer on tap will just be the cherry on top for this bar. A suggestion.:) But will definitely be back!

Very poor experience at the cheese shop, the staff was very rude and just focused on getting you to buy things. They didn’t give us the right information so we had to leave after purchasing over 75 dollars in cheese and bread because we were not allowed to drink the bottle of wine we took outside. They didn’t explain clearly the type of license they got so we ended up in living. The market is lovely, if you can I would rather spend my money in the other stands rather than the cheese shop inside.

Even though it was Easter weekend when I came here there was still plenty of stalls! I got some delicious limoncello cream and some lovely pastries. And I'd recommend the coffee from La Cigale itself. The pork and fennel sausage rolls were also really good and well worth it!

Nice food, spacious capacity, hardly anyone else around us at lunch on a Wednesday, but plenty of people dining

Best market if it's type in Auckland. Always worth going to, excellent products served by people who understand what they are selling. Eclectic mix of customers, this is not a niche type market, it's an illustration of how cosmopolitan Auckland has become. And it remains the only market in Auckland which from time to time (and should more often) utilises a "Security Poodle".

Rude French chef at the cafe. Made a request not to have cream cheese in a bagel as I am allergic and he got really stroppy about it so cancelled order and left.

A lot of people were recommending this market to me and I was quite excited about it being a "French" market. Came here in the morning around 10, but there was nothing much French about it and the pastries and coffee were really disappointing and overpriced. Few cute stalls and shops but wasn't really worth staying longer than 5 minutes. Won't be coming here again

Croissants could have been better for a french market. Parking charges displayed not what you pay. No tickets in machine

Myself and my husband went to the market today (Saturday 9th January 2021) and we arrived at around 8: 15am (keep in mind the website says they open at 8am). I went to order two coffees from the main coffee stand inside the building.
Once the girl behind the till had finished laughing with her colleagues, I asked for the two coffees. She said they weren’t open yet and they would be open in 10 minutes. So I said that was fine and I would place my order anyway and once they open I will pick up the coffees, so she took my payment and I went to pick up some croissants.
20 minutes had lapsed and myself and my husband had finished our croissants. We were sat at the table watching the staff make coffees for all of their friends and they were laughing and joking and just messing around.
We went over and asked if our coffees were ready and they said No, they were making coffees for everyone else first (meaning their friends). It was unbelievable. My husband asked them to just make the order so we could leave and we were met with rude looks and they were whispering amongst themselves and begrudgingly made our order.
Such a shame the coffee stand is run by a bunch of immature children.

Fresh seasonal vege is good here. Cheaper than supermarket. However the fresh stuff is here on Saturdays, with the remaining vege being sold on Sunday

Food was average and flavorless. Everything tasted like taken out from freezer and microwaved even the sweets were something you buy from countdown shelves.

I stopped by when I was at the French Markets on a Saturday. The main market is in the outside area but there were a few things inside here. The interior is decorated really nicely and has a unique French Feel. There was a patisserie stall here as well as a fromagerie and some hot foods. There were quite a few large tables in here.
The fromagerie has a lot of different cheese and we had a few which were interesting. It was a nice place to look around and the market is a big plus.

One of the best market/cafe/bistro/shop. I've been at! They have a number of varied stalls to choose from, with good seating capacity- although it gets filled up quickly, especially in Sundays.

My favourites:
- they serve the BEST coffee (Gravity beans). There's always a long line of people, waiting for their morning coffee fix
- Tahsin's Market - sells the BEST hummus with so much variety. You can try to sample first before you buy, but everything is so good you'll end up getting confused on which to get It's typically $5 per tub, but when we went the next day, it was $10 for 3 tubs. Not sure if that's a usual discount, but make sure to take advantage of that
- Paella Pan - there's usually a line here as well because of the delicious paella! I know rice in the morning is pretty heavy but so worth it. The guy cooking/serving is also quite nice so that's a plus. $15 for a small serving (good for 1-2), $18 for large (good for 2-3 people)
- French Crepes - sweet ending after eating so much savoury food

La Cigale is definitely a must try!

Got a smoothie, same price, smaller size than a couple of years ago. No surprise the market is not busy as it used to be

The French market is always a nice place to go out to with the family or friends. Great range of French food to choose from and the people are all friendly.
