La Spiaggia reviews
39 Me and my partner love this place, it can be quite busy so its worth booking at least a day or two in advance. They were also able to cater to a larger group for my graduation with just a day or twos notice and didnt have a set menu which we liked.
Would highly reccomend their Nutella cheesecake and their strawberry gelato/sorbet.
Food is great, but starting to get pricey. Saying that, it was better than paying for 2 average meals at cheaper places
A truly authentic Italian restaurant with delicious food, amazing service and a great atmosphere. Generous portions but make sure you save space for the Limoncello:)
Food was delicious, service was fantastic. Our table had a view of the beach at sunset, very memorable meal!
Great place to go with your family, has the “cantina italiana” atmosphere. Staff is friendly and food is good. Arancini are wonderful!
The menu has a wide selection to suit a range of tastes. Very busy from opening & you need to book. Great vibe, good service but I found the food a little too rich for me.
Amazing food, service and ambience. Everything was top notch. We turned up without booking and restaurant was packed but staff still accommodated us and managed to find a table that was perfect.
SO delicious. The parmesan pizza starter is to die for. I had the Bolognese Pizza for my main and it was the best I've ever had! The only slight disappointment was when I order a lemon, lime & bitters and was given a bottle rather than a bar-made one. Otherwise everything was superb!
Fantastic food. Only negative is the acoustics - you can hear every conversation in the restaurant while eating - BUT IT IS STILL A 5!
The manager is amazing and absolutely service minded. The young servers were so kind and attentive. The toilets were emasculate.
The food was brilliant, perfect prawns, fresh bread and calamari.
The gnocchi was pillows from heaven and can highly recommend.
Will definitely go back.
Love this place, always enjoyed the service and atmosphere, plus the food is delicious, lovely views to the beach too
THIS IS WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF
I can wholeheartedly say.after visiting pizza places all around the world (literally), La Spiaggia is the home of the number one Pizza. Period.
Truly, the best Margherita pizza, in Auckland.no, New Zealand!
And don't even get me started on the Tiramisu absolutely mouth watering. Pair this with a scoop of Gelato and you'll sleep like a baby!
Stef, Maria and their team are incredible also.
If only I could eat here every night! Thanks guys for the perfect service, every time we visit, truly the best!
I must have gone to the wrong place or the king is not wearing any clothes. Average pizza. Ok.u wouldn't send it back but 101 other places that sell same thing.probably cheaper. Often seen busy carpark and numerous good reviews. I clearly have poor taste buds.maybe COVID got me.
Overall, the food and experience was very good. Lasagne was a bit of an overcooked mushy mess. Cheese on top wasn't grilled.
The service was not friendly at all, the young man serving us had a face like a wet weekend and hardly spoke. Food was ok but far too much sauce and the presentation sloppy. The acoustics in this restaurant are very bad, not even full and the noise was bad, really hard to enjoy and relax in.
Been going here for years but never left a review, it's simply the best restaurant in Auckland. Me and my partner have been to almost every restaurant but keep coming back. I believe the wife who owns the restaurant is very respectful and very switched on. Food 10 atmosphere 10. Family done restaurant 50 out of 10.
The serving staff were lovely; attentive, timely, helpful, lighthearted, accommodating. Food was hot and tasty, lots of empty plates on our table.
Great service and service attitude, but i can't say the same for the food. Maybe my taste is lighter, but almost all the dishes were overly salty. My companion and i order an pork belly bites for entrée and 2 mains: al fredo and minto (truffle based pizza). The Al Fredo was alright but it would be better paired with some red wine or baked bread, because it was quite salty. The entrée was interesting, pork belly that is fried but i think the marinate was too high on salt and it ruined the crunchy texture and juicy fats of the pork belly. We had to drinks lots of water to counteract the high sodium consumption. The pizza was quite good if you ignore the saltiness too. The truffle "sauce" was not noticeable in the pizza and the wafer cut of raw salted ham (i think it's a calf or leg cut) was an artistic touch but was also very salty.
Overall, i would rate it as barely passable, only made up with the good service. I think its renown is mainly contributed by its location. Being situated in the heart of Murray Bay (a very small beach south of Browns bay), with a monopoly in that there are no real restaurants within a few kms. It also helps that it has a good sea view. It's just not my palate.
Most awesome place to eat, absolutely fantastic food. Highly recommended place to eat. Tonight was just another perfect dinner complimented with a walk on the beach.
An absolute favourite. We love coming here! Some of us in our family are adventurous and like to try new things, others like their tried and true favourites but around the table the meals are always perfect? The staff are so lovely, always remember us as familiar faces although there will be hundreds of familiar faces for them! An all round wonderful place. 10/10 from us!
