Great food for affordable French food. They're a little undermanned. We didn't get bread until the middle of our meal while others got their bread early.

Visiting from Australia with my husband and enjoying authentic French cuisine with our New Zealand family. The highlight of our holiday. Totally recommend

Great food, a long time since we last visited but it was every bit as good as the last time.

Always grabbing foods when I’m available. Le garde manger is absolutely the best choice!
Apple tarte and chocolate fondant are the best since I have a sweet tooth!

Delightful lunch experience, able to sit and talk for an hour after eating, relaxed and warm atmosphere. We all enjoyed the savoury pancakes and creme brulee.

Most incredible, homely French food. Packed full of lots of flavour and very fresh! It’s obvious every dish is made with love. Would highly recommend this restaurant. Very cosy and charming atmosphere. Will continue to return.

Real authentic feeling of being in France.
French Onion soup, Beef Bourguignon, crepes. What more could you want?

Stumbled onto this place and had the best meal in my life that I can remember. Had the escargot and scotch beef fillet and they were cooked and presented impeccably. Service was on point and friendly. A little bit of a wait was expected for genuine and amazing French cooking. This place has no signage out front and doesn’t need it. Treat yourself and have a meal here.

Surprise! The waiters are gentle. When she lights the brandy and pours it over the crepes William, the beautiful Sunday morning started,

We love this authentic French spot. The crepes are incredible and dinner is also delicious. Amazing service as well, we can’t wait to go back!

It was fine. There are better french cuisine restaurants around Auckland, and their onion soup wasn't fantastic. It is a nice place for a date, the atmosphere was pleasant and the wait staff were very professional. And french! I think.

Stumbled upon this quaint little restaurant on Upper Queen St while walking and looking for somewhere to eat. Great personable and friendly service, yummy food, we had galettes. We recommend coming here!

I am désolé, but selling a petite crêpe for $6 eez nonsense pricing.

Il est très expensive.

Not pleasant as I wanted to enjoy Bastille Day 14/07/2022.

Edit: I am not a troll and all reviews I have written are genuine.
I did order a crêpe that day (14/07/2022) and got a small crêpe for $6 upstairs.

I have avoided covid up till now. Because the staff here see fit to break the law and not wear masks now I have covid. It is the only place I did not wear a mask.

I would like to give a better review for the atmosphere and sympathy of the service, but from a French standard the food was not up to the expectations. Maybe other choices would be better but we went for galette and crepes and both were disappointing. The galette savoyarde had a watery kinda cheese that should be raclette but didn’t taste like it, very light which was maybe a good thing as usually this kind of galette is heavy on the stomach. The the dessert crepe with chocolate, crepe taste just ok but chocolate was like off the shelf ready to dress liquid chocolate which is far from the taste and texture of a made chocolate.

Nestled in the upper part of Queen St, Auckland, surrounded by predominantly Asian inspired cuisine, we literally stumbled across this wonderful bistro-cum cafe and were silenced at the brunch treats on offer.

Sweet or savoury was the decision and to be honest, either would have satisfied the senses and actually a good excuse to make a swift return visit. Dinner is also planned sometime soon!

A shame the Chateauneuf du pape wasn’t available by the glass, but I opted for an Italian Peroni in what felt like locale close to Sacré-Cœur itself, my favourite spot in Paris, a city I haven’t been to in 25 years or more.

My lovely lunch partner opted for the crepe with mushroom. Made from buckwheat it was divine. I know because I also stole a mouthful. Personally, the Oeufs Garde-Manger with sausages, roast tomato, bacon, mushroom, eggs and Brie on toast filled me to the brim to the point I will be eating light tonight. Absolutely sensational and in a country where a sausage of quality is hard to find, this has to be recommended in the highest regard.

We left smiling and can’t wait to return. My smattering of schoolboy French used, our friendly waiter wishing us a pleasant rest of Saturday. We’ll be back, Monsieur, very soon! Tres Bien indeed.

This place showed promise but had some serious drawbacks

The French onion soup came out AFTER our mains, was Luke warm, tasted like sugar, and was served with a table spoon, not a soup spoon.normally I wouldn't care about a spoon but this place is $75 - $100 a head - for that you should expect finer dining.

The escargot was good?
The paté was great if a little smooth in texture?

I feel like this place should be atleast 3 stars but i just can't get past the fact that a French restaurant couldn't get a French onion soup right, or atleast send it out at the right time.

I Would still recommend it though, your experience would likely be better than mine, just avoid the soup?

The meat quality is good, as is customer service. However as can be seen from the photo the sauce is identical for the chicken and beef - they ran out of lamb even so we came at 1pm, and sauce has an overpowering wine taste, with part of the beef meat being burnt. There were also hardly any vegetables and the potatoes were very plain. Not worth the price.
