32Went to replace some lights that had had their day. The new version of them are so superior.
I arrived there just after closing and I was parked right outside the entrance and was googling on my phone when staff or manager came out and after he finished locking up I asked if he had a certain type of lamp holder he replied with a sorry no and told me where I maybe able to get it from. I was grateful for the help and advice. Never got to go in the shop but it looked well presented with parking right outside. Will see you soon as I'm after a couple of bedside lamps.

Such amazing customer service and product knowledge. As an interior designer I love they way they keep Up with trends and nail it. The team in there are always super easy going and helpful. Unlike the Lunn ave branch which is absolutley terrible. Well done Newmarket lighting direct.

Very helpful staff and great selection of lights. Recommend taking sunglasses as it can be quite bright in the store.

Never have any spares or parts. Third time been in for different parts. Also annoying you purchase one product and go back 4 months later for another and brand or product is not available. Be nice for a bit of consistency.

Rang up after viewing a product in the morning and reserved. When I got there having driven from the other side of the city they had sold it out from under me. Don't trust this lot.

Didn't have what I wanted but had an alternative. There built in led lights don't last as long as lighting plus's.
7 years ago they sold us a house lot of LED downlights. We were told they would last up to 20 years. Since purchase, about 10 of them have failed and needed replacing. The light emitting part is fine but the drivers have gone, but they don't sell replacement drivers, instead I have to buy the whole unit and driver. Not only this but they have discontinued several of the models, so replacements cannot be matched. For lights we were told should last 20 years, I find this unacceptable. Simple solution would be for the manufacturer to componentise the lights, allowing the ceiling mount exterior to be used with a new screw in light, thus the exterior look would not alter. Also to allow for simple plug fitting replacement of drivers, so they can be swapped out without the need to be an electrician. These two solutions would also be much better for the environment, saving having to throw out the perfectly good parts of the original. Get your act together lighting direct!
We consulted with someone for pendant lights and bulbs to go in the pendant lights. They recommended bulbs for our choice of pendant light hut didn't have them in stock and suggested we buy them online and get them delivered. When we received the bulbs, we realised they didn't fit in the pendant lights at all. Went in store to get them replaced but couldn't because they'd been bought online. We were told to call the online store for a refund but no one picked up. We left a voicemail and are yet to hear back. The pendant lights are very nice though (however we're not 100% of if they'll last as the quality seems a bit flemsy).

Went in looking for outdoor light replacements, our lighting direct supplied exterior lights have failed, and also lamp shades for a couple of standard lamps. Small selection of shades for sale and didn't suit and the outdoor lights style we bought no longer stocked. Will see what Bunnings have.
The store credit we had on hand expired but we wanted to try if we can still use it as it's a total waste if we don't. We went to Epsom branch and the staff in the counter said go ahead and look around but then we'll have to check with the manager later on if something can still be done given it's out of validity period. When we finally knew what we wanted, we approached the manager. With a judgy look on her face: (, she straightaway said nothing can be done as the system cannot recognize the credit document. She added we can return on a weekday, when the head office is open. A call to the HO seems to be required but there's no guarantee that the end result will be in our favor. I thought it was just me, but both my husband and I felt that the manager was not keen to help.
We thought we give it another try and went to St. Lukes branch. We were told to look around and when we reached the counter, the manager smiled at us saying that it did work (no magic required!), we can definitely use it. We even purchased more than the amount of store credit. So it's a win-win for both sides.
We don't understand how we got different outcomes from the 2 branches. One thing's for sure, there is no way we will go back to the Epsom store.
Popped in today to get some light bulb's mainly but also as I had extra time thought I thought whilst i was there look at what they had for our 2 rentals refit / rennovations. As I started to look my 9 year old son said he needed to go to the toilet. To which i suggested that he kindly ask the sales lady Debbie S (from my sales docket) if he could pls use their toilet. Very politely he asked to which she snootily snapped back at him "we dont have one".
Next time Debbie S you take the time just for a moment THINK WHO YOU REPRESENT when you work for Lighting Direct and remember.yes you don't own it.
Potential customers don't wast your time visiting this store.in fact I'd avoid it at all cost.
We visited the Epsom store over the weekend as we are currently in the middle of renovating our house, and what a lovely experience! We were assisted by the store manager who was eager to help especially when we didn't know what we were wanting! Such great customer service, we walked out with our hands full and very happy with our decisions! Will definitely be back to this store in the future!
