Lucky Fortune Restaurant (喜运来酒家）

Pork intestines and prawn toast were the highlights for sure, great flavour/texture and size respectively!

Beef tendons and egg tarts weren't bad but maybe a little bit below average?

All other dishes were fine~
Unfortunately we didn't see any sesame balls: (
But that might have just been on the day.

This place is popular for a reason? Luckily we booked for lunch on a Sunday.

Prices were slightly cheaper than most places in Auckland which is a plus!

We eat here a lot so thought I'd add a review. Food is always good and the kids love the dim sum and dinner menus so it's an easy option for us. Price is reasonable for what you get.

Update; Excellent customer service, the staff are all super kind and helpful! Even though we waited a little while to be seated at our own table, the turnover rate was pretty quick and we were seated within minutes! The food quality was amazing, could not fault any dish, and the variety has increased, there are now dry versions of the popular steamed bbq buns and runny egg yolk buns (for people who want to take away hehe aka me)! Also had their pork intestines which were super tender yet chewy, and full of flavour.
All the classics were fabulous, no faults, and all the dry bun/pastries were really good quality, tried a new thing for me-the almond taro wrap which had a amazing portion of taro filling topped with crunchy almond flakes! Also tried their sao mai which was so succulent and tender, made so well! And their glutinous rice chicken which was tasty with a good amount of filling and even a chunk of Chinese sausage! What an awesome surprise!
I'll definitely be back, and I can't wait to venture out and try most if not all of their yum cha menu!

9/2 Extremely fast service during the busy hours of noon. We were seated as soon as although had to share a table.
Classics were served very quickly within minutes of being seated and were tasty and authentic, especially the black bean ribs which were served with taro, an original recipe!
Was quite happy with that and all the quality of the foods, tender meat and well seasoned. However soon after there
wasn't much variety in terms of the dishes being served, only dumplings seemed to be carted around. That was unfortunate as I definitely did not feel like I had enough to eat!

The food and service were great. The environment is a typical Chinese one and the wine list was not international

The food here is beautiful! Nicely presented and the portions are big! (From the menu) The only thing that I can recommend is, they need to seriously up grade the bathrooms! Old, Smelly and no hygiene units anywhere. The restaurant looks awesome! Surely you guys can afford to invest into the bathrooms.

Yum Cha here is always a hit. I like that they still do it the traditional way, with the cart ladies. Dinner was pretty decent too, most dishes were good and big portions as well. Their salt and pepper pork chops were a big hit with my family and they are a traditional canto family.

Not worth it! For two of us we only had about 6 dishes and that cost $67! Food was greasy would rather go to our local Chinese any day!

Huge restaurant with wide options of delicious asian, dim sum food. Sorry I missed taking photos of the food, too busy munching them. We had the salted egg bun, skin rolls, pork dim sum, baked crispy top bun.

Great selection of food, and they're big dimsums too. Can't really fault the food quality or taste.we've totally enjoyed ourselves here and will definitely be back. Didn't take any photos, we ordered too much for 2

Best place for dim sum, love the rice noodle with deep fried dough stick in it. BBQ triangle pastry as well! Friendly service been going there for years and always have a good time. Not too pricy too

Love the restaurant is so big, the service was really good. They also have a robot sending food to us. We had prawn ball, hot poached chicken and seafood hot and sour soup. The prawn ball is my best dish which was served hot and crispy. Juicy with prawn paste inside, coated with crispy rice outside. The poach chicken, love the sauce that came with it which had smoky scallion flavour on it. However i wished the meat can be more tender. The soup was good, reminded me of hot and sour soup that I had in United States. I also wished the steam rice can be in bigger bowl.

Went there with my mom. We got in at 11am which is when they open. We were seated maybe 10min after. A good selection of yum Cha but not a lot of what we wanted, this could be because we were there at the beginning of the service. When I asked for hor fun noodles I was told that it’s not available. I don’t know if I’d return here.

Found a roach leg on one of the buns. Steamed rolls were cold (not even warm) that threw off our appetite. Not much food selection too.

Came here pre covid with Mrs.very nice yumchar, good flavor & texture of food also reasonably priced.
Went there few weeks back.still the same

Service was slow waited so long for our meals to come out The duck was cold the waitress was rude when we asked to have it heated.worst meal ever had there dont think we will be back.
Cant believe we were in there at 6.30 and were still waiting for our dishes to come out at 8.30.

Always have been here for a large family gathering. Food for everyone and more. Always over ordered for plenty to take away.

Bro I love this resturant sm just take all of my money i am so madly in love with your foods especially your sweet and sour pork. Literal heaven in my mouth lord jesus have mercy on my soul I've reached nirvana. Super kind and funny staff as well, she took my plate back to add more sauce into it. An angel amongst Auckland Heaven. They give such a large amount of portion size and is worth every change I have. Every night i dream of eating those delicious sweet and sour pork. I count down the days until I enter Lucky fortune restuarant once more. This is the best yum cha I’ve ever eaten at

A variety of food for yumcha but need to get there early for a seat. Staff ensures that groups are having the table within a timeframe.

Big resturant, excellent food with great service. Can't wait to go back.lot's of parking as well.

Yum cha here is very busy and the staff who pushes the cart are very attentive and makes sure you get food. Spacious table and the food are pretty good standard. Price is a bit high but at least what you get is good.
