Mamma Rosa Pizzeria Restaurant reviews
59 Lovely spot to eat.
Great Italian food, good atmosphere and friendly staff.
Will be going again
This is nice small Italian restaurant, with moderate menu options.
We had the Gongozolo and Parma Pizzas. Both were good, but slightly lacking the authenticity (The oily nature of authentic Italian pizza) but taste wise good.
Will come for more.
Been coming here since I was a kid. Never disappoints, always left more than satisfied. My partner and I love it.
First couple of visits to Mamma Rosa, I've really enjoyed the warm atmosphere. The menu had great selections and food was delicious. Tiramisu was delightful (this is coming from someone who is not a usual fan of this dessert!)
Great food. However for those of us with more fast food tastebuds i recommend just go dominoes or something.
Been several times and always good. Highly recommend the lasagna.
Today we got the large margherita pizza takeaway, ate it by the beach watching the sunset. Delicious as always.
Just off the main promenade, make sure you visit this lovely Italian restaurant recommended by some locals. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Food was plentiful and delicious. I had the Carbonara which I really enjoyed. Would highly recommend a visit.
Sadly our party had an underwhelming experience here at our local Italian. Unfortunately our waitress with her name on her necklace was extremely miserable and it appeared she could not be bothered to greet us in the correct manner or even use the basic manners of ‘Please and Thank you’ when these were reciprocated to her.
To make matters worse, when our group went to pay upon exiting the chef/manager made it difficult for each individual to pay for their own meal/drink and was overly insistent on everyone ‘splitting’ the bill although some members of our party did not drink alcohol or had a beverage of some sort.
Even one of our guests advised how much he had spent to the gentleman only for this to be rebuked, this then as unexpected meant one of our party picked up the whole bill.
A large 8 slice pizza was also an eye-watering $33. A disappointing experience unfortunately.
Great local restaurant. Pizza is typical kiwi style (loads of toppings and heavy on cheese covering) but service is great, wine is super reasonable and it is a great little local spot for a quick dinner with outdoor seating
Best pizza in Auckland. Been coming here since 2006 when i lived around the corner, and even if youre not local, it's well worth the journey to Kohi. Excellent value, top quality and friendly service. Whether you want takeaway pizzas or pasta or dine in you can't go wrong.
It's a cosy small local eatery. The ventilation was not good in the main room. There was no window. The food was okay but the portion is kind of small. The service can be improved as well as the speed.
Thoroughlyejoyed my meal. Pizzas came in 2 sizes snack and regular. Really good base with generous toppings.
The pasta dishes were very filling packed full of flavour. Small restaurant with big personality.
Great Pizza and italian restaurant. A favourite for either dine in or takeaway. Never disappoints.
I like this place.
The staff are friendly, the portions very generous, and the drinks are affordable.
My only quibble is that for the price point I would expect traditional ingredirients e.g pancetta and not bacon, prosciutto and not ham, especially with dishes that have the ingredient in the name, but use a substitute.
I think the pizzaiolo needs to step up a bit with regards to the base and the quality of the toppings as well. I wouldn’t say it was authentic, or worth the price point.
That said, I enjoyed the staff, food and ambience of this place, I just reckon this is one area for improvement.
I know the cuisine well - my partner is Italian, I speak Italian, I regularly dine at the best Italian place in Wellington and I toured Italy for a month, so I’m not talking out my butt here.
Some big pluses and minuses.
Some of the best Italian food I've eaten. Everything on the menu is good. It's hard to go wrong here. Amazing!
Awsome food grate service one off the best restaurants I've ever been to best food ever
I got a very comfortable feeling and a lovely taste here! All the food is delicious and beautiful
A busy little place, especially with a constant stream of people picking up pizzas before the rugby & league games. Pretty standard choices of Italian food, lots of pizza options. Chef was accommodating with working around an allergy. Unfortunately too many tables squashed inside & out means you feel you have to be on guard in case people bump into you.
Had the most amazing pasta here, even my partner agreed that this was the best and that's quite high praise from him (:
Excellent service and delicious food!
Fun little Italian place with an authentic feel:) we ate in and had pasta dishes - very tasty and great service
