Man O' War Vineyards reviews
75What a great place to chill with friends! Pet friendly, live DJs, tables or grass picnics, and some of the best wine on Waiheke. Big fan of their rose wine. Accessible by sealegs too!
Very busy, 1.5 hour wait for cheeseboard and Man o war board. We enjoyed the afternoon, meeting new people and drinking wine. For us it was nice to have break from our boat
Disappointing. Great location and setting, we arrived early and were seated quickly. There were hardly any patrons but we waited for 20 minutes while staff walked past us and chatted to each other at the bar. We told one we were ready to order and he said he’d send someone but nobody came. We left.
A long drive on gravel roads but wow what a view when you arrive. We arrived late in the day so didn't have a full selection of food available but enjoyed some light snacks and their lovely wine
Great location, friendly staff, tasty food, alcohol a bit costly, but you pay for experience, right? Worth it. 30 mins from Auckland very cool place to be for wine, dine and swim. Clean toilets, Seating on grass benches can be improved.
Had an unforgettable day in there!
Nice outside seats. Food and wine were great. Staffs were so lovely.
Thanks for the photos x
A great experience to visit these vineyards, enjoyed our wine tasting and lunch. Ideally next to the beach for a dip before heading back to the ferry on the bus
The drive on the dirt road is definitely worth it. The views are spectacular. Try to time your visit with the shuttle bus they provide.
Have been going to Man of War for many years its quite a way to go so you would hope the food, wine and service made up for the drive, sadly won't be going back, service non existent had to go to counter to order and carried it back including drinks small menu.shame as lovely setting.have found a new fav
Absolute Gem of a spot! Good food, even better wine and the views are something out of a movie! Definitely be back there again.
Popped in for a glass of wine and a charcuterie board - did not want to leave. Beautiful place.
Beautiful location and great ambience on a nice sunny day. Good selection of wines. The only draw back is the 6 km dirt road approaching the property with loose stones flying & the overpriced Cheese board @ 60! $.
Good price points, good service, lovely outlook across the water.not as expensive as other vineyards, great experience for the cost.great tastings!
Great location but food is only tapas style, better to go here for grazing rather than a proper feed.
It's a bit of a drive to get there but a very special location with fantastic wine and food
A very nice winery right on the beach. My girlfriend and I went there and had a wine tasting and lunch. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the food was also very good. In addition, the service was very nice and courteous. We are looking forward to coming back soon.
Today we did the cycle over the vineyard which was fun, exhilarating and interesting followed by a wine tasting and lunch
We were so fortunate to have the privilege of been taken care of by the most gracious, calm under extreme pressure and passionate person Cecelia (sorry if I have your name wrong) You totally made our day feel so special and I will never forget your kindness
Man o War you have an absolute gem.take care of her and the others whom I could see were working so hard under Pressure taking care of everyone
Service is heavily impacted by lack of staff and training. I made the booking early December for an early 11am lunch for my parents who was celebrating their anniversary. We got there at 10.45am. They didn't open till 11.05am. We got seated at 11.15am. The table we had was amazing. Our waitress came, took our orders straight away. Food and drinks came really quickly but one drink order was incorrect. At 11.35am, we were advised by the waitress that we have to leave the table in 10 mins and that we were advised about it in the booking. There were no such notes in the booking. That stressed us out so even though we actually wanted to order more food and drink, as soon as we finished 10 mins later, I went up to pay. All in all, we had a total of 20 mins at the table before they advised us we had to leave. The waitress did come after I paid to advise they got it wrong but I was too cross to stay. A shame as the ambience, food and wine was amazing. We would have probably spent twice the amount we had, if we had given more time.
Gorgeous setting. We were a big group and the staff was great with the wine tasting. Only downfall is having to pay $30 corkage. Nowhere does it say this. The takeaway bottles have prices on the menu but if you wish to drink it on site they charge $30. Seems very steep. The lady at the till was pretty rude when I questioned her on this.
We popped in here on the spur of the moment. Some of our group opted for the wine tasting. This turned out to be really good value for money and lots of fun.
The food was really really good. The vegetarian burger had a brioche bun but wasn't too scone like.
Good value for money if you're down that end of Waiheke
