Matakana Market Kitchen reviews
90Food was so yummy went back next day for breakfast. Great coffee and eggs bene. Great being able to sit outside by the river. Can't speak highly enough of the place. Would definitely go back
Lovely food, great friendly service, busy lively atmosphere! I'm glad we booked our table!
Went there Friday night for our wedding anniversary and they had decorated a really great table by the window. Amazing food and value and staff were great, especially as manty of them seemed to be school kids.
Loved atmosphere. Reasonable price and decent portions too. It was my husband birthday and staff gave free brownie with candle. I will love to go again. 100% Recommended!
Fabulous place. We booked the day earlier and lucky to get a place. We had some drinks and shared a starter, main and dessert. The quality of the food and the service was fantastic. We had a nice walk up and down the street post our dinner. The place is a little tricky to find but nothing major. Highly recommended
Husband had a fall while getting up from the table and broke his collarbone only Help was from a restaurant Patrons
Amazing food, great vibes and good location. We got the Sicilian chicken, eggs Benedict, steak and eggs, and chorizo with salad. All the dishes tasted amazing, and were cooked well and fresh. The cocktail selections were good too. And really good service. Can’t say enough about this place. Thank you!
Absolutely superb food at sensible prices, very friendly staff, great vibe and beautiful views - loved it!
For my nanas 90th birthday a group of 25 went for dinner. Food was great but the service was outstanding, never have I met a better waitress, after taking our food orders she managed to remember who ordered what meal after we all changed seats multiple times, she went over and beyond for us and really made the night a special one.
Lovely place great menu
Presention top notch.
Tasty and great staff and location
Perfect spot in the sun or shade for brunch or dinner. Service was good and efficient food was great
Great tasting food and service, a bit of a drive to get there (we’re Auckland based), but well worth it. Definitely will come back
Our small group was welcomed on arrival. Staff friendly and competent. Good range of menu choices. Meals were attractively presented and enjoyed by us all.
Very very avg. Could NOT recommend. Wouldn't be back. After mentioning a couple of issues to our waitress (lovely) we were gifted our desserts.but fairly disappointing food all round. Service was good. Wine was fine. Food.blah
We arrived with a group of 12 not really expecting to be accommodated because we didn’t make a reservation but the staff were so wonderful.
We chose to sit outside by the water, they put the heaters on and they were excellent with the tamariki in our group.
The food was exceptional, everyone enjoyed their meals including the children.
After receiving the worst service ever at The Rusty Pelican coming down to MMK was just a really lovely experience overall.
A truly idyllic spot to eat and spend time with whanau.
We found this gem after a swim at Tawharanui and that was a 10 stars out of 5. The place is already really nicely decorated, cozy and yet bright and just over the river, the service was very nice, everyone who looked after us was kind and friendly, I had the new vegan dish on their menu, first of all its a delight to have real plant based food (and not a salad) in a restaurant that's not plant based, but even better is when this is made with creativity, perfect balance of flavors, very balanced with proteins veggies etc and also a really good portion! It's so worth it I loved it. We had an amazing dessert too. Really wish I had been many more times before!
We came here twice on consecutive days. The food was amazing, the menu huge, the brownie was stunning. The service was second to none. Great place and fully worth multiple visits
Great food and service is great.
Meals came out very quickly even though busy.
Simple menu with great options
Staff are attentive and efficient, which pushes this place up to a five star in my view. The food was great, lamb shank so soft and tasty, good pork belly. Spacious interior with a nice ambience and there's a fire, although you will need to specifically book ahead for a table near the fire at dinner - they're popular. It's all good quality but not pretentious. For example, the table cloths are made from paper and the cutlery comes in cardboard holders, but the duck parfait and scallops are delicious, so who cares?
Stopped in for morning tea. Food in the cabinet looked good. We decided on a muffin each and coffee. Were surprised to be told we needed table service before they could take our order. Sat obediently and waited. After 10 minutes our order was taken. Another 10-15 minutes coffee arrived. After another 10 or so minutes, finished the coffee, still no muffins. Approached a waitress, order was ‘coming’! Another 10 minutes, just about to pay and walk out and food arrived. No apology for an order that was obviously forgotten. They seemed to have an adequate number of staff. Won’t bother with this place again!
