Matakana Village Pub

Lovely place, cosy atmosphere. Friendly staff. First time eating there, food was delish, and we will definitely pop in again when we are in Matakana. My elderly parents enjoyed their food. Highly recommended.

As a large group of 12 adults and 3 children searching for a late lunch, we couldn’t have found a better place. Rather than looking ‘put off’ by our group size, we were warmly welcomed to sit wherever we wanted. The service was impeccable, food was fresh and served within a short time. Highly recommend this place and we would like to thank them for being so family friendly.

We had a group of 24 people dine in last Wednesday. We preordered our food, which was fabulous and came out nice and early. Great service. Great atmosphere. Some of people joined in the quiz!

Awesome atmosphere, friendly staff and superb food. I ordered a tasty medium rare scotch filet, with roasted kumara and mushroom sauce. My wife asked for a parmegiana chicken, which was well served and delicious. My boys each requested mac and cheese, spaghetti and chicken nibbles, good sized. It must be quite. Ice in the summer because the outside area is huge.

We had Sunday lunch, good old kiwi staple of fish & chips. Food was very well done & yummy. Great outdoor seating, lovely atmosphere. Staff were very friendly & accommodating. Thanks guys.

We were here quite a few months ago (Easter weekend) so can't remember many of the finer details but, a conversation today jogged my memory that I forgot to write a review. The reason I have done was to compliment the waiter we had. Unfortunately, I can't remember his name but his service on the night was great, it was clear he had at some point in his life received traditional waiter training. Having worked at private functions in the UK, it was nice to receive as it's not often you get this type of service anymore.

Looked like a nice spot but the staff were unfriendly, apparently no reservation no service although it was only about 30% full and no reserved signs on table. Rusty Pelican just down the street a much better choice.

Very nice atmosphere with an old villa look. Cosy and a great place to catch up for drinks. They also serve food

Matakana pub is soooo good me and my family go there lots and their food is soo yummy I love it also nice service and pretty quick lots a prople there to watch the game and get some of their delicious chips omg the food is AMAZING and it's a little pricey but I guess that's just the norm now days

Been there twice second time was just as good as the first time really looking forward to my next visit already. Good food great music great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Had a great lunch and delicious fresh seafood on new years day. It was flat out busy but staff were great. Had a slight delay in getting one meal but the owner sorted it out quick smart. Thanks for good start to 2023.

Lovely food but if you have to question whether we can eat the portion sizes you are sending out maybe you are sending out portion sizes that are too big! Great service and a lovely ambience

With their price tag of $30 for fish and chips, you would think you're being served gold ingots as portions and literal diamonds for chips (they were not).

Awful service. Went for a 30th birthday party to have a few drinks and enjoy the night. Bar staff did not seem happy to be there at all. They were rude to most people and called last call at 9.40pm on a Saturday when they were still full of people.
Was incredibly dissapointing as we used to love coming here.
Food was amazing as it always is, but the front of house team/manager really let it all down. We will not be back.

Came here for my hens night & after our wedding for lunch to a private room. Both times, service was excellent, food amazing, love the decor & atmosphere. Staff very friendly.highly recommend a visit!

The setting is absolutely beautiful and the service was outstanding. Asked frequently if things were well. Enjoyed the matakana burger and the peach ice tea was outstanding.
Music was great and the fire provided some great warmth

Great chicken parmigiana and salad, with local beer and wine. Amazing old dining room and friendly, efficient staff. Great way to start the night before heading off to spot kiwi.

Loved this little local, just popped in for a few drinks with a friend, were able to get a cute table outside with no reservation, stayed for a few hours and the staff were super friendly and helpful. New to the hood so I'm looking forward to visiting again. Nice work team x
