80This is the worst power company! Avoid at all costs! I wish I read the reviews before I signed with them. They are so inconsistent, there’s always weird extra charges on my bills. When I try to chat with the team, they have terrible customer service. As you can see by all the bad reviews, they are a dodgy company. I’m holding out for my contract to end so I can be done with them.
Where do I even start? This company is incapable of completing a job and good luck getting their customer service to actually talk to you. We’ve been without internet for three weeks and I’m close to loosing my contracts. I just get hung up on every time. But they keep taking out money
Absolutely useless. Would never recommend this trash to anyone. Congrats, you're the first bunch of muppets to receive a 1 star from me.

Negative 100 points for this horrible company. For LPG what they told me and what I got are totally different.and their attitude is being rude. For Internet, I did not use their service but still wanna charge, because it is my fault that did not use their router and did not buy a router ontime. Really bad. But I argued with them and did not charge the period I did not have internet. Do not use any service with them. Really really really bad experience.
Service sucks and staff using tricky way to lure me in and noticed the contract package is a lie till received first bill.
They don't care about customer's queries, all they care about is money.
Worst service in New Zealand and used $400 dollars to learn a lesson.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced.
They don’t even have a good accounting system that keeps records of your payments and you could be ripped off if you don’t pay attention to your payments.
We were with Trustpower, absolutely loved them. Changed to Mercury their service is slow their Call Centre on the App says its open until 18: 30. Answering machine however says 17: 00. We switched to Trustpower from Mercury and our power bill dropped by 25% but also because of the service quality. Now forced to go back
On a call to report an issue while typing this review for about 20mins now and has been put on hold twice and still waiting. What a horrible service experience. Customer service is also not very pleasant and rather rude.
We all deserve clean, affordable energy and a safe climate. But Gentailers keep burning fossil fuels, and their profits stay high. We need to tax the Gentailers' excess profits and invest it in renewable energy, for a better future for all of us. Clean up your act, Mercury!
Mercury building arcetecture is stunning, it leaves you speechless before you enter and mute until the moment you leave. My head is arched back always staring in awh at the lighting fixtures hanging like icicle's in snowy mountain caves. Or the floating stairs in between the corridors that split the building. It's as if I am in a Harry Potter novel and living my wildest dreams.
It's awesome, amazing work to the designers and builders and everyone involved. There's a few food places surrounding the area, however U sushi in the building is a must try. Brilliant staff and food. The mercury reception staff are kind and always smiling. The sandpit and other information they have available to the public regarding the electricity is vast and helpful.
The worst electricity provider. Charges falsely. Never settles issues esp related to bill on time. Only prompt in deducting money.
I recently had the pleasure of interacting with John from the customer service team at Mercury, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed! From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional.
The customer service representative who assisted me was knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to resolve my issue. He was patient and took the time to fully understand my problem, offering helpful and insightful suggestions along the way.
Not only did John solve my issue efficiently, but he also made sure to follow up with me to ensure that everything was working as expected. The level of attention to detail and genuine care for their customers is truly rare in today's world and a testament to the high standards set by Mercury.
I cannot recommend this John enough. He is a true asset to the company and have earned a lifelong customer in me. Thank you, Mercury team, especially you John, for providing such excellent customer service!

Wow bad, really bad there people say they will do something and don't and Hiko their chat service is useless, and they never have people available for chats.and i thought meridian were bad now.not so much lol
Great customer service! The man I spoke with was very helpful in answering questions as well as helping in finding the best option for my partner and I. I think his name was John. Again, he was very knowledgeable and helpful and hopefully he can help more people with his skills. I hope you can read this John, I can't thank you enough but I hope the company can see your value. Worst electric company ever, no power bill then power goes out on public holiday and can't contact anyone to reconnect, changing power company!
Been using Mercury for only 3 months. Month 3 my bill shot up from $200 to $600! Called 3 times to try sort it out. Where I was then told it's a mistake on their side and all wil go back to normal. Only to find out today apparently their meter wasn't working and I am liable for that, plus more for previous months! Very upset! Ridiculous! Had I know as a client my usage was too high I could have fixed it before being liable for hundreds unexpected.
Then spent an hour on the phone to cancel our service and work out a payment plan, only to be cut off after an hour.
Been with Mercury for 2 years now.
When I moved houses, we were given a 200 dollar credit. Great! No it's not, the customer service team had taken my bank details but not entered them into the system. My bills started stacking overdue after my 200 dollar credit ran out. Then I gave customer service (Scott) a call and seemingly got it all sorted right? Nope my bills are still running overdue! They haven't sorted anything out! Back to being on hold! Love Mercury
No regard for us customers!
Been getting estimated bills for the past 6 months for a family of 4 estimated 300 each month. All of a sudden we got slapped with a bill over 1k. When I called to clarify they said it was an actual reading? We both work and our kids are at school in the day time how can our bill be so high! And that too they can’t explain. Please Be careful guys. They are deceptive, tried to persuade me to join a contract to get 200 off my 1000 dollar bill.
