What a stupid show. Go there, wait for to get there attention while they keep making sauces cause they only acknowledge when there is a long queue, get your food after 20 mins. Sit and eat that horrible food with no flavour and also get $65 parking ticket cause you exceeded 30 mins which was clearly not your fault. Sign is not even visible. Such a scam

Service is EXTREMELY BAD. They give you extremely small amount of salsa/sauce so you are basically eating raw salad. Its just the same as eating salad from home. Its not the Maxicali Fresh we use to order from. Dont order from here WASTE OF MONEY.

Great spot for a quick bite. Called in with my son for a late lunch. Staff engaged with him well. Food was good, as expected at a franchise restaurant. I'm a big fan of Mexican and MF never fails to deliver consistency. Thanks team

Waited a good 10 minutes before any of the staff actually acknowledged I was there.
Staff are very unengaged and can tell they do not want to be there.

Food is good, same as any mexicali. Service was very slow with none of the staff really appearing to make an effort. And restaurant is always just quite dark and quiet, and more so because it was evening. Maybe have some music playing or something would help.

The guy blasted through this service, failing to ask or listen to my preferences. I have about 20 jalapeños on my taco salad, when I usually like to request just half a dozen, but I got tired of correcting his assumptions of my order. Also the other sauces weren’t available, with no alternatives offered, so I just have sour cream. I understand that they are busy, but if you just take a bit more care; it will actually make the process a whole lot easier quicker and smoother:)

Nothing wrong with our experience at Mexicali, but I just got a $65 parking ticket for being there for 41 minutes while we ate in store! Absolutely ridiculous to have a 30 min parking limit out front. Unfortunately it was dark and raining so I had no idea there was a limit. Smart compliance management suck.

Untidy Kitchen Area. Trash spilled. No Cups for drinking water. We were 8 people and had to go twice to ask for cups. I have taken pics of the cooking area. Surprised how it still operates. Guy behind the counter seemed least interested in serving customer. Terrible Service

I usually love Mexicali but unfortunately I have never had a good experience ordering from here. Their menu has refried beans but every time we have ordered these items they come with black beans. Sucks because it’s not what we ordered. Please update your menu if you no longer offer refried beans.

The food was so bland, no salt, no pepper, for the price there is nothing which the food offered. Subway is so much better. Very disappointed. Will not try again.

Really disappointed with the nachos, tonight, no care taken when making, hardly any cheese or meat and was given the corn chip crumbs. The quantity and quality has dropped big time since last visit @Constellation Branch

Saw a fly crawling through the salad then it flew to another open tray on the counter. No lids on most of them. Kinda gross tbh. Server just brushed it off. Walked out

Absolutely lovely service, lovely location, I have no complaints. Slam dunk for 5 stars across the board. But now for the fun part. Burrito was an 8/10 (at least by my standards). Excellent construction and ingredient choice (I got the bandito, so barbacoa beef) the salad's addition of cabbage is a great balance of flavor. The chipotle sauce works very well with the meat choices, adding a sweet and sour flavor that extends on your protein choice. Guac is amazing and I personally always recommend adding jalapeños. The reason it loses its 10/10 rating is the barbacoa seasoning and rice. The rice problem is simple, it's too coarse. The shear almost woodlike texture of the rice works well in small amounts to add texture variety into a dish. However it shares a similar style of texture to the barbacoa beef and the burrito, so it's simply unnecessary. It doesn't really take anything away from the dish, however it's disappointing knowing how much better a softer rice would have been. As for the barbacoa beef seasoning, it's impeccable. For the first part of the flavor. The first flavor of the barbacoa is smoky and delicious, and I will probably choose it again. However the beef's middle flavor and aftertaste are almost nonexistent. This isn't a problem for the dish. The sauces, salsa and salad are perfectly made to round of the flavor of the burrito, but if you do not choose your bites carefully you may just end up with a mouthful of bbq sand.

Food quality was not fresh (slaw looked brown at 11am and the chicken wasnt covered or heated before being placed on my meal) - the tortillas were just sitting on the bench, the one he used to make my meal was half out of the bag already and was handled on the bench not put from the packet to a plate or in its box? Please train your staff on good food hygiene practices

Really disappointed in the change of guacamole product. It was the best with avacado chunks and tomatoes! Now it's the worst puree baby food consistency and tastes like it too. Guac is arguably the most important ingredient in nachos and it ruins the whole experience. The pico De gallo is also a bit spicy now too, don't really care for that either. Mexicali is comparable to zambrero now and I'm sad.

The food here is not too bad, however, only giving 5 stars for the service. The woman working on the 3rd of September 2022 around 3pm gave us quite possibly the best service I've ever received in the hospitality field. An absolute angel, deserves a promotion or a pay rise at the very least. She also made the best mexicali I have eaten in the last 5 years. Bravo.

I never give positive reviews but I love this place so much!
The staff are always friendly and the food is always good.
I wish there was a MF closer to where I live (Takapuna) but it's worth the drive.

Several poor experiences ordering here recently. Delivered through Uber Eats and the order was wrong (small salad instead of regular, missing ingredients other times) and food is often cold when it reaches us. When I tried to call the restaurant, I couldn’t even get through. Really disappointing…
