I would highly recommend this company I have taken both my cars and recommended family to do the same. Very affordable and fast services.
Time and care was spent on my car fixing all the problems that were previously left by other mechanics.
The staff are very friendly and forthcoming, I was spoken through any and all repairs that needed to be done to my cars and given price gages before work was done leaving no surprise bills at the end of the day. Very happy with the repairs done.

Like many I have tried several places for my WOF and then I came across Midas in Howick before Xmas. Friendly, helpful and professional as well as affordable.
Needed to go back today for advice on a rear window wiper and it was fixed on the spot with the same awesome service I had with my WOF.

Never thought I'd do a plug for Midas, as I always thought they were rather expensive, but yesterday I was very pleasantly surprised! Honest, friendly, prompt service, and a very reasonable price, not to mention the awesome bargain I got on wiper blades:).

Ultimately, Midas Howick won our confidence with their work ethic, competence, dedication, honesty, friendly attitude and reasonable price. Been to WOF multiple times and charged for parts as WOF failed but they never showed me actual photo or proof of failure. Probably the nature of business but I would recommend going to VTNZ for WOF for fair testing

These guys are amazing. My latest experience was l bought a turbo diesel Nissan Caravan. Fault with turbo put van into limp mode. They found a split vacuum hose, fixed it. Van then faulted again. They did a diagnostic which showed a faulting turbine thingy. Replaced it with a second hand one at my request to save me money. Van then faulted again. They said only remaining thing it could be is ECU (brain). Cost of part would be $2300+gst new. Could get second hand for $575 but with no guarantee they were reluctant to spend my money. So l borrowed my mates identical van and they swapped ECU to confirm fault. Turned out to not be faulty, it was the second hand turbo thingy. So they removed it and replaced it, ALL THAT WAS DONE AT NO EXTRA CHARGE TO ME. These guys are amazing - they gave me great advice; kept persevering and didn't give up until the van was fixed and usable again. And then would not charge me for all their extra time spent on it. I have used many local mechanics over the years but these guys are by far the best, l definitely recommend Midas Howick. Thank you thank you thank you!

Never go here, this owner is all about the money and does not do a good job. Take your car elsewhere. He is also abusive and a bully.

Do not recommend. Prices of the standard services are misleading. Please be aware that for modern cars it does NOT fully include the 4.5L of oil and an additional charge will be required costing approximately $40+. Included is standard mineral oil and not synthetic oil which most cars in the last 10+ years use. This is not clear on the website nor was I told this on the phone when booking. Only found out when I dropped the car off. Too late to go elsewhere as I was leaving for a 500km trip the next day. I believe in 2021 standard oil is synthetic oil (not special oil - whatever special oil is?) and that Midas are breaching the Fair Trading Act. I have lodged a complaint with the Commerce Commission and suggest others do the same. NOTE 1: Both the Midas Howick/Somerville owner and the Company’s Franchise Manager were argumentative and not in the least bit interested in my concerns - very poor customer service.
NOTE 2: Some Auckland branches do include synthetic oil as part of the service so ring around or go elsewhere.
