I visited the store to obtain my supply of spring vegetable seedlings, however the plants on display were absolutely terrible, the only place they should go is into the rubbish bin.

They have been decimated by sparrows.

Sure I realise that this is not necessarily the complete fault of Mitre 10, but having a cafe located right next to the supply of succulent bird food cannot be a clever move.

The Warehouse had an excellent stock of really nice quality seedlings.

Went today to discuss the problem of army worm which decimated my beans, peas and spinach.

It appears that this is rife throughout the North Island thanks to our Australian friends.

Mitre 10 have a home gardener spray solution.

However I caution you not to use their solution, because the cure will kill your plants as it did to mine.

Because the cure, is worse than the actual disease.

Picked up some spares for my lawnmower, they have most if not all items needed, from air filters, spark plugs, to mower blades, good selection.

Prices are okay.

I needed some waterproof sealer for a rather tricky and tight positioned solution, and I was not sure which product to purchase.

After speaking with the person in that section he had a product already opened, and demonstrated the flow ability of a sealer which looked exactly like what I required.

This was an example of helping the customer choose the correct product well done.

I, am now reviewing this outlet, once more.

I am moved the star rating from 1 to 3, purely based on the earlier experience.

If I rated it on my latest experience it would be 5 star.

I purchased a battery weedeater which is incredible, after 12 months the battery seemed to be losing some of its holding power, I asked the employee in store about it, and was told to bring it back in and it would be exchanged.

I took the battery back and it was exchanged without question.

What a change from my last experience.

Must say what a difference one person can outlet to a customers experience.

This particular employee was so helpful in the first place when I purchased the machine, I make a point in seeking him out for advice on other machinery matters, as to which product to look at.

In about late May I purchased some seed raising mix, which was more like, "questionable" chunky potting mix.

I contacted the maker and after sending them a photo of a large quantity of the product, was advised by them to return the faulty material back to Mitre 10 for a full credit.
I advised the maker that as I had purchased the goods in about late May, and I no longer had the original purchase receipt.

The maker said that this was not required, because Mitre 10 was the only outlet that sold it.

I visited Mitre 10 however they were not even remotely interested in issuing a credit, unless I had the origin receipt.

I showed them the email from the maker but they were still not interested.

I understand this, however it only reinforces my point about these large conglomerates.
They take your money, and couldn't care less about you the customer.

Remember retailer, the customer is always right, even when they might not be.

Example of methylated spirits, before you buy Mitre 10's product, have a look at the price of New World's product.

The music in the store is always so depressing. I guess they still think it makes people buy more. It just made me leave, and reconsider coming next time

Was disappointed to find the Cafe closed after the effort of getting my elderly mother out of the car and into the cafe with her walker but the staff lady there manning the takeaway coffee booth was very nice and helpful. Would have been helpful to have had a sandwich board at the entrance saying the Cafe was closed.

Staff are available to help you find what you are looking for. A pleasant place to shop with a cafe & restrooms available. At the moment there is a very good choice of plants. I found everything I was looking for and was asked by a staff member if I needed any help carrying my shopping. You can also get keys cut here. The Colombus Cafe within mitre 10 has drastically improved. Certainly worth a visit. There is a good garden centre that has plants and all garden needs

Great shop. Lots of parking. Has everything the home handy person needs. Staff very helpful if you are a bit of a novice. Great parking. Lovely coffee shop. Lots of lovely treats. Even has a playground for kids.

I think mitre 10 customer service needs to get in tune with the stock they have at each store. This is the second time I have phoned to find out which store has a particular item in store, and the 2nd time I have turned up to that store only to find they don't have it in that store.
Not very helpful and a waste of my time.

Poor customer service. I have been a customer for many years here and the only way to get any type of service is to go in to the store and hope for the best. They usually send you away and say someone will call. I have never got a call back.

Every hardware thing you need is all in the one store. Other drawcards include: Goldcard discount at cafe on Tuesdays. Dog friendly store. Friendly, helpful & efficient staff.

Have been a customer of Mitre10 Albany for many years, it is an extremely well run operation with great customer service. On March 28th I made the error of purchasing a Gate, Hardware (and delivery) from sister store in Warkworth. 4 weeks later I called to asked on status of delivery, told order not processed and fyi I did not pay for delivery. I advised when you process the order you will see I paid for deliver. Further 4 weeks I get contacted to be advised gate ready for delivery (nice store realised I paid for this), I asked is the HW (hinges b being delivered as well, advised no you did not order this. Incorrect! I asked could the manager call me to arrange a time when I would visit to discuss this fiasco. Three further weeks have passed and no contact. Shame this Stores management lets down the Mitre 10 group reputation for customer service.p. S we ask all visitors, neighbours "how do you like our Mitre 10 gates" see photo. The Reply reflects poorly on the owner. "email us". The Manager of Warkworth was highlighted to issue by Manager of Glenfield over 4 weeks ago! Warkworth have my contact details

On Thursday 28th April went to your store with elderly friend with bad memory problem.
He couldn’t remember his password for card so I paid with mine eventually. The guy who
Served us was so great His name was Keryn maybe spelling not right. So impressed
With his patience and understanding with my friend. Was outstanding! Huge thanks to him.
Made difficult situation so easy with his problem.

When purchasing kitset products double check tickets match the product. Had an issue with a 75 litre wheel barrow.shelf ticket advertised one price but scan code identified another. Staff are helpful in locating product and over all experience was good. Be aware that mask wearing at back end of store does get hot as there is no air conditioning. Having said that staff are very helpful and are always there to check product and explain.
