Monsoon Indian Cuisine reviews
68 Really great food and service. Best curry house on the North Shore. We have been here multiple times for dinner, lunch and take out.
Highly recommended.
Chicken korma
Chicken saag
Wow. Delicious.
We always eat here on most weekends and we are always surprised by how good the food is.
Today we trued Chicken and lamb vindaloo and man it was soooo good we couldn't stop eating!
By far our favourite place to eat.amazing food and very nice friendly staff.
I really don't like giving restaurants such a low rating. The food was slop, we threw most of it away. If the owners are wondering why the space is empty apart from a couple of lone diners maybe time to refresh the menu and focus on getting out good quality food. Kiwis are well traveled and more sophisticated now, we know how good authentic food should taste. Step up MONSOON.
It was quiet Wednesday night with not too many people around, we ordered two appetizer's and one main. Service as expected was great there being only three other tables occupied. Food was exceptional, Malai Tikka & Seekh Kebab (half servings) followed by Saagwala Chicken - we could have eaten more but left more than satisfied.
Our go to for Indian, portions are generous and all the meals we have had have been very flavorful, appears to be authentically made! Hight recommended!
Best Indian restaurant on the shore! Wonderful food, service and environment. Highly recommend:)
I spent quite some time with the reception staff on how my goat curry will be cooked. I don't like curry with a tomato base and the Monsoon goat curry showed no tomato on the menu. When I got home and opened it up it was goat in a thick heavy tomato paste. The chef did not follow the menu. My family ate most of it not me who paid for it. I won't return except to complain in person.
Very good service & awesome food,
I usually come here for dine-in,
Food quality is very good and staff is so polite, they always suggest you good stuff.
Very abusive staff. Extremely bad attitude. I can see why the place is always empty. Food was alright but not worth the price. Getting some takeaways and eating on the beach would be my suggestion if you're heading out here.
Have previously ordered here and have always thought the food was amazing. Haven’t been for over a year and ordered 3 curries (was so excited) and they were all so watered down. The portion size is a lot smaller it didn’t fill the container and was only just over half way. My curry was so tasteless couldn’t finish mine: (
Got 4 curries from here today and the quality and portion size is awful! Had to throw them all away. No spices, tasted bland and mild. Such a waste of money
Went for birthday dinner and was a disappointing experience. Long wait for the food although not busy, ok give that a benefit of doubt. Service was bad or can say was not service, waitress didn't seem to have been trained on how to serve. The food was just not worth going there. No taste in the food at all and full of sweet sauce. We ordered malai kofta and palak panner. Would not recommend.also ordered some prawns and chicken. And to top is off no heating in this place and the door doesnt close properly so all evening sat in cold from the breeze coming in from the ocean.
I would give this place a miss and enjoy dinner elsewhere
Curry was mid but I can't believe they can sell their "loaded fries" at that price with a straight face. Basic butter sauce over soggy, undercooked fries with none of the advertised onion or coriander. Genuinely pathetic, definitely avoid if you have self-respect
Really good quality food & customer service is so nice.young guy (sk chopra) suggests me nice curry.will come back again definitely.
We used to love this place but our most recent curry from here was awful. We asked for hot curry and there was not even a hint of spice, there was actually hardly any flavour to it at all. The lamb seekh kebabs were also lacking and completely different to how they usually taste. At least the naan and samosas we're still good.
Today I ordered takeaway from this place. Really awesome service and food is nice… definitely will come back… next time we will try dine in. 5 star
Wonderful restaurant with friendly staff, and delicious food! It was great customer service by Savy in busy time. I really appreciate to whole team!
We've been going here for years. Excellent Dahl and Naan. Actually, everything we've tried here has been amazing. Service unmatched.
Really nice tasty authentic food service was friendly too recommend if looking for a delicious Indian restaurant in or around Browns Bay
Monsoon really felt like it was a cut above many of the other Bays' local Indian restaurants. Something in a subtlety of flavour and atmosphere makes this a refined choice for anyone hankering for an Indian curry. Even really white people can feel adventurous, branching away from "Butter Chicken" to Monsoon's "Indian Style Butter Chicken". (Highly recommended, you won't be disappointed!)
