New Zealand Fabrics & Yarn

Came across this little shop, in Birkenhead, for the first time, yesterday, looking for buttons. Walked away, with more than thát! Lady behind the counter was very friendly and surprised me, when another customer walked in, needing help with her knitting, when she, very calmly, explained to her where she went wrong and helped her get back on track. The shop is small, but very well stocked and perfectly laid out. My buttons were very reasonably priced and way cheaper than the bigger well known craft shop I’ve been to before. Highly recommend.

Found what I wanted. Excellent service. It's my go to local fabric & yarn shop. I so pleased we have it in Birkenhead.

It was unpleasant because it was so unkind. Compared to the small and pretty things, the owner was fussy and rude to the guests, so it was a pity.

I’m new to knitting. I have found the staff so helpful & patient even offering to help me pick up all those lost stitches. Lovely selection of yarns. How lucky to have this store so close. Thanks NZ Fabric and Yarns

Tracey! You are Extremely rude! Never experienced this kinda customer service before! You need to work on your phone call communication skills before opening a business! At least introduce yourself and what business you are from, and never ever say “bye” and hang up, on your customer first before they fully understand what you are talking about! And never ever cancel your customer’s order before they ask you to do so! Remember you are in New Zealand follow the kiwi way not the American/Canadian way. Will definitely NOT recommend this business at all!

Love this small shop in Auckland. Nice range of quilting fabrics and yarn. Plenty of choice with knitting supplies, threads etc. Just a shame the city centre will be losing it soon. Probably, the last place in the CBD for supplies.

I went in to ‘just look’ and ended up spending $$$. The shop was colourful and spacious with a great variety of yarn, fabrics, patterns, cottons, and most other things ‘crafty’! The lady who attended to me (possibly the owner) was a wealth of knowledge and truly very helpful. She also explained that the move to Birkenhead was only just a recent move from the CBD. And tbh a great location now, too.

Prices are competitive, great levels of stock and very inviting as there was a lovely big table in the store which had a ton of crafts and knitted pieces placed around it for customers’ perusal. I’ll be going back for sure so ‘Thank you! ’

Small shop. Lots of yarn. Quilting swabs. Small amount of ribbon. Pays to call to see if they have what you want.

I am a beginner in knitting, and the shop owner knows the product very well. The patterns and yarns of the socks she recommended to me gave me great confidence and interest in knitting. I like this cozy little shop, they can provide you with the products you need and help you.

Awesome staff. Wonderful yarns and largest range of New Zealand themed fabrics.
Knitting needle range includes Chiagoo, knitpro and Addi. Lots of local goodies in-store

I had the pleasure of visiting this shop today, the lovely lady that helped me is a superstar. She honestly was so patient and accommodating even while dealing with me as a complete novice and gave me so many great tips.

Bought a cloth face mask $29.99! @#¥₩£€ whhhat! There was no price displayed and I was in a hurry. A bit steep.

A little shop tucked away in Queens Arcade in Auckland CBD with a huge variety of product. Helpful staff too.

What a gem! Fantastic selection of beautiful yarns and fabric which my teenage daughter adored. The staff were amazing too. Thanks for such an enjoyable visit on our day trip to Auckland.

Great location within walking distance of the city centre. Rooms clean and spacious with all you need at hand. Great little restaurant and bar staff was fantastic made our stay. Desk staff were average with different check out times after arranging for a late checkout

Great selection of wool yarns local and imported. A little too pricey for me personally, but seems like such prices are common across Auckland (or maybe across NZ, I'm not sure).

Such a friendly staff lady who helped me find all that I was looking for and more. What a well-stocked little double-storey treasure trove! So beautifully organized into the different crafts. Stunning variety of fabrics, yarns, samples, pattern books, kits and tools, one is spoilt for choice of where to look first. Definitely a great place to go for all your crafting supplies.
