42Great place if you need plants and or help from knowledgable staff. The cafe inside has outstanding food and coffee.
This garden centre has a nice range of giftware and reasonable selection of plants although Kings in Botany has much more stock and variety. Some of the garden centre staff are very good however the old fat South African guy lets the side down by being aggressive, rude, unfriendly and like a constipated sergeant major. Only 3 stars for being unwelcoming. How about a Cost Benefit Analysis: A smile and pleasant word costs you nothing, but your profits might increase.
The cafe at Palmers is excellent with consistently good food and coffee and service. There is plenty of seating and they provide throw rugs in winter if you feel a bit cold. Come straight to the cafe, give the army sergeant a wide berth and enjoy a pleasant lunch.
