Initially, I was in two minds about upgrading the interior of my house so I met with Kelly and Sean to discuss the process. By the end of the project I trusted them completely and had given them them full control of the project.

The project itself included a full interior design and fitout including adding an extra bedroom within the same building footprint.

I particularly liked that where they felt strongly about a design aspect or on the materials to be used that they would not comprise but on other aspects of the project they were fully flexible and happy to incorporate design aspects that were important to me.

They take care of all the project management including organising tradesman and materials and did a fantastic job of this.

They were sensitive to the budget that I had and gave me regular cost updates including providing detailed breakdowns comparing actual costs to budget so I always knew how costs were tracking.

By end of the project Kelly, Sean and Nerissa had become friends and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

In 2022 I had Rare Birds design and manage the rebuild of my three bathrooms. I found the team originally by asking my trusted tradies who they loved to work with, then stalking their (obvious) design sense online before meeting the team.
I had strong ideas of how I wanted the bathrooms to look, and limitations on the layout which they respected while still guiding and improving the design in every way. Their eye for detail is exceptional, the small lighting and design details they insisted on are what I notice and appreciate now everyday, combined with a wealth of knowledge about fixtures and relationships with suppliers which was massively important.
Their management of the trades and scheduling was so impressive; they know and use good people and kept it under control even in the madness of 2022 Covid times.
I’m delighted with the end result, their budgets were accurate, they coped admirably with my freak outs and I’d recommend the team highly.

I worked with Kelly & Sean to design & project manage my kitchen and bathroom renovation in Western Springs. They listened to my brief when it came to design preferences and budget. Our build was right in the middle of a pandemic with lots of supply challanges. We had an awesome design, great callaboration and great communication/responsiveness all the way through the build processes. It was practically turn key, and gave us a refined options to help guide us through the processes.

As someone who is involved in the building industry but doesnt know too much about interior design, these guys had great ideas and delivered a solution we are very proud of.

I finally have my dream kitchen! It is the pièce de résistance of my house!
Sean was patient and amazing through the whole thing. After dropping our first architect four years ago, three very different house plans, covid lockdowns, builders lead times been extended due to material shortages and staff, Sean continued to tweak and work with the million changes that we threw at him.

The only regret I have is I didn’t employ him to be our interior designer, bathroom designer and all in one consultant. If I had, every room would have the gasp I get when people walk into my amazing kitchen.

I am also thankful after four years on this crazy rollercoaster of a house I can call him my (very tall!) friend!

Sean and Kelly are superb team. They complement each other to bring their skill sets together seamlessly. This ensures fantastic but pragmatic design ideas, practical implementation, and constant and consistent communication throughout.

They listen, take on the clients’ views and make sure they are meeting their needs.

The result is a living, kitchen, laundry and powder room we love, that meets our brief in a totally stylish way, we never would have imagined.
