Registered Master Builders Auckland reviews
14Don’t bother, they won’t help you and will take months to tell you so. They don’t hold their “masterbuilders” to account, and don’t actually have any power to follow up and achieve anything useful for homeowners. Absolutely useless and an utter waste of time and money. We will not buy a home again that is associated with this scam of a company.
Really not worth the money - not interested in remediating faults, just there for building companies to attract clients. We have a friend who has been in negotiation for over 4 years to fix a serious building fault (which has been confirmed by masterbuilders as substandard), but still no corrective work has been done.
If I could award zero stars I would. Master Builder Guarantee is not worth anything. Our builder went broke and MB took three months to decide that would not help us at all. During this time we have had to pay thousands for Air bnbs. There is absolutely no advantage to have a MB Guarantee - it does not cover the client in any way. I have since been told by several other builders and architects that MB always try and weedle out of paying clients when they submit a claim. Useless.
Master build is a complete waste of money. Ive been building for over 35 years. Was amazed they ask for nothing when you sign up other than money for your membership. They are basically an insurance company with not much to offer.
The Master Builders is an amazing organisation, they provide great advocacy for their members and their guarantee gives complete piece of mind for homeowners protecting their investment
The Master Builders Association is fantastic, they provide excellent advice and resources to the building industry and homeowners. Through the turmoil of the past few years they have been essential in advocating for the construction sector. I've used a Master Builder and am elated with the result.
Master builders is a RIP OFF. Our clients choose us as they wanted/needed a 10yr guarantee for there build and the bank and master builders declined it. Really want to cancel our membership as its a total waste of time. Currently looking at other memberships that can actually provide a service they say they can offer!
I'm "forced" by the banks to become a member but looking at the reviews and my own experience trying to become a member with more than 40 years experience and a bachelor degree in engineering, I am not surprised to see a 1 star rating. Are the banks NOT looking at this?
Stay away from these legalized cowboys. They hide behind a front and will never help the client. It is only a rich boys club!
**NEVER BUY A MASTERBUILD HOUSE**
After having such a terrible experience with them I would never buy a house with Masterbuild Warranty on it.
A masterbuild warranty is basically a waiver of all the rights of the buyer and removes any liability of the builder towards the property.
Avoid to buy any property with Masterbuild Warranty on it. Don't get misled by the name. Its a TRAP every buyer should avoid. Especially the first home buyers.
***Read their reviews on the internet****
. Dont be a victim of this fraud.
They are useless, and only collects the easy money in that they only provide guarantees to easy stuff. My issue was escalated to one of the manager, Rachel Bisset, on numerous occasions, first blamed their slow response with covid and now just not replying my follow up emails at all.
Be very careful - this is an Association who only takes care about the builders,
you have to understand that you can not just sign a master Builder contract (also the new one) without protecting yourself in additional clauses.
The worst thing is
that they pretend to help the House owners.
Terrible, terrible, terrible - We built a home with Thomas Stein (Navigation Homes) in Millwater - delays, over budget and lies - heaps of lies - loads of lies - more lies than you could ever dread to hear. I contacted both Navigation Homes Head Office and Registered Master Builders because I was being treated unfairly. They were totally ineffective. If you think choosing a Registered Master Builder protects, think again.
Your advertising states that: "Our builders are the best in the business and uphold the highest standards". And yet, no Registered Master Builder is actually vetted before their application to join is approved. So, it follows, how can you legitimately make that claim - isn't that misleading. Seems like a paid up club for the boys to me.
