Sal's Authentic NY Pizza - Parnell reviews
45 Adele and the team at Sals Parnell are legends, always great food and really quick service.
Loved the slice of pepperoni, loads of toppings and the base was perfect.

I always go to sals parnell when I'm able to, and whenever we are hanging out as a group me and my friends get sals. I love the pizza and garlic nuts, and it is really good here!
The food is delicious but the service is bad. I call and place an order over the phone, restaurant says 15 minutes. I arrive after 25 minutes and my order still isn’t ready and I’m told it would be another 10 minutes for the garlic knots. I’m in a rush so say that I’ll just pay for the pizza and go. The employee (female) says she can give me 3 knots straight away. This employee (female) is also coughing while opening the pizza ovens and handling food. The other employee (male) takes my payment, I ask for the receipt which takes him a very long time to figure out. And then I’m just standing there. Couple minutes go by and they haven’t even put these 3 knots (which I’ve now paid for) into the oven. So I just say give them to me cold. Half an hour later I finally have my pizzas and 3 cold garlic knots. Seems to me the female employee is overworked and not taking sick leave when required, and seems to me the male employee requires training.
Really good service. Great pizzas. This is my favourite branch of sal's. The tall staff member was really polite and soft spoken.
PARNELL SALS’ is the best branch! Hands down!
I come from new Plymouth and my first stop is usually Sals’s. The owner and staff is incredibly hospitable. And they make sure their quality stays the same. They go out of their way to accommodate choices and quite frankly I don’t think other sals even come close. Highly recommend!
I recently ordered food from Sal's Pizza and was extremely disappointed with my experience. I was told my food would be ready in 20 minutes, but ended up waiting for a full hour before my order was finally ready. Not only was the wait time excessively long, but the staff didn't seem to be particularly apologetic or communicative about the delay.
When I finally received my order, the food was cold and lacked the quality that I would expect from a pizzeria. Overall, I was extremely dissatisfied with my experience at Sal's Pizza and would not recommend it to others.
Pretty good, always burns the top of my mouth. Will return for special occassions but bit pricey for everyday pizza. The 18" is a great novelty.
Staff members are friendly, courtesy, patient and accommodating. I guess I'm always lucky that they always have some pizzas available when I'm there, albeit the ones with their standard toppings only: pepperoni, chicken, and cheese. The pizza, the knots and sauce are yummy, and flavourful.
We came in and had a slightly annoying request and the girl working was very lovely and kind to our request!
Amazing pizza, very filling and nice to enjoy with the family, prices are good and so is the food.
The food is fine but they never have any food ready. I go there once a week at lunchtime and every single time it's like "oh, I don't have any Pizza ready, if you'd like some pizza I will have to make it".
It's as if the pizza place did not anticipate people coming in at lunchtime and ordering pizza.
I only get 30mins for lunch and walk to and from the store. End up spending 20mins waiting for food and have no time to eat it.
Was told to pick up my pizza at 620pm, am still waiting for it at 7pm. So bored that I am writing this review. Useless service, unsure as of yet of the food quality.
Good pizzas.
If you order online be prepared to wait an extra 5-10 minutes from the “expected time”.
Really disappointed with this Sals store. I had never been to Sals Parnell before but will most likely not be going back. I’m not sure if it’s just this Sals store or its a nation wide thing but the ingredients have gotten very scarce recently. The ingredients were scarce, there was hardly any chicken and tomato on my pizza. Same with the capsicum and mushroom. In addition, the capsicum and mushroom was so charred to the point that the green capsicums had turned almost brown. In addition, I ordered ahead over the phone and the lady said the pickup time would be between 6: 25 and 6: 30pm, however I didn’t get my pizza until 6: 50. This was on a Sunday night too.
Excellent experience! Unlike most Sal's Pizza Restaurants in Auckland, this one never burns the Pizza! This is the only Sal's worth going to if your looking for a nice pizza without the crust being obliterated in the oven.
Excellent food!
Delicious pizza and garlic knots.
Not 5 stars because when ordering for pickup, they often provide an inaccurate pickup time. When they say ready in 10-15 minutes, can mean 20-25 minutes so you show up for pickup and have to wait around.
Girls and service lovely
But the worse pizza i have ever eaten.
Dripping in grease base was all dried up, had a processed smell of plastic and completely tasteless.
Cheese sticks old and dried up inside, off our weekly take out list.family hated it.
Pretty busy during lunch. But great pizza as alwaysss.better order it by phone and pick it up to avoid queue line
Food is ok, sometimes feels as if it has been sitting around for a while. Service isn't terribly good, seriously feels they don't like their job and they don't communicate very clearly and seem annoyed but reluctantly serving you anyways. Not so much of a problem for me as I generally know what I want, but as I sit and wait for my takeaway I o get to observe their interaction with other customers, it's not bad, it just feels a little 'off'
Pizza was good, like all other sal's pizza places. First time that they charge me majonez on top. In any other sal's restorant they didn't. That's confusing a bit.
