Sal's Authentic NY Pizza - Queen St

We stumbled apon this Pizza shop as we explored Auckland. It was so nice we went back twice. The size of the pizza and slices blew our mind. Well done guys

Got my order takeaway, live 5 minutes away and food was lukewarm. Cheese slice was nice, buffalo chicken not so much but the pizza base was excellent store is little cramped but booths were clean & place was tidy. Service was alright.

The pizza was so good! And the service was amazing, friendly staff and happy to help. My boyfriend said it was the best pizza of his life so totally recommended!

Standard sal's pizza. Very tasty but limited space due to the small store. Will go back 100%. Make sure you take it away.

Went to Sal’s last night. It’s pretty slow for a fast food and the atmosphere is not the greatest. It’s too cramped. If you want to get pizza from here, take it elsewhere. Another reason is cleanliness and hygiene. I just saw the staff take serving plates (like pictures) directly back to the shelf for the next customer without washing them. What else do they not wash between customer servings? These plates are used to serve pizzas and people touching them, talking over them and perhaps even placing random soiled serviettes and things on them and this guy simply grabbed it from the table right after these two guys finished eating and back on ready for the next person.

Great NYC style pizza. Got the Sal’s Famous Combo (Pepperoni and Margherita). Quick service and good value.

Perfect spot for pizza. Reminds me of all the NY-style pizza joints you find in the U. S.it was great having a taste from home

These guys know what they're doing and never disappoint each time. You gotta try those buffalo wings. #toogood

Pretty average pizza honestly but the staff were nice. 4 stars for atmosphere as the place is super basic but that seems to be the intended vibe

I eat here quite often as I work nearby. The pizzas taste nice, especially the buffalo chicken in my opinion.

I could not give this 5 stars though as I feel they are very expensive for what you actually get. Not only this, but I feel the pizzas could all do with more flavours. They just seem quite generic and they do not need to be.

I miss the chicken and tomato pizza that they used to do. I do not understand why it has been removed and replaced with only a simple chicken pizza.

Overall, I do recommend Sal’s but they are not as good as other pizza places, and they are certainly not as good as they used to be.

Love Sals and the Queen St branch is the best! My pizza is always popping hot and we were running late for pick up today but still got the hot, delish pizza! Thumbs up for the great customer service.

Pizza was good, but service and hygiene was terrible.
The lady behind the counter looked like she didn't want to be there. We make an order and sat down, then then changed the rubbish bins, took off her gloves half way through, then went to put our pizzas on the plate and serve it to us without washing her hands first.

But Sals has compensated me for this so happy with outcome

Thank you for the GIGANTIC pizza slices and the coupon.
I enjoyed the two pizza slices with loads of chilli flakes and oregano.

The only drawback is excessive pricing on mozzarella scrolls ($7 for small).

Odd opening times and there were staff in the shop but the doors were shut so we weren’t sure what was going on

Went in friday night dinner with my brother. Very beautiful girl served us who was very nice. My brother got buffalo the best

Love the food but the location is really, really small. When it's busy you may not be able to find seating. Typical Queen St.location expectations but I'd love for them to take advantage of one of the many larger empty locations strewn across the heart of the city. Crave a real pizzeria atmosphere!

I absolutely love the buffalo chicken pizza! A great balance of spice and creaminess. The mozeralla sticks are also a go to, however the garlic knots will forever have a place in my heart <3

If you're going to Sal's, this is the one to go to. They consistently deliver the best pizza the Sal's brand has to offer. Plus the garlic knots are cooked to perfection here. Other stores will cook the knots too little, and they'll be overly chewy, almost raw-tasting.

Not Sal's Queen Street. Here they come out looking like a work of art, and they taste the same, too.

The guy making the pizzas—I don't know his name—he was there when I first came to Auckland in 2017, to be with the love of my life, finally. He's still there now, making the best pizzas Sal's has likely ever produced, as I prepare to leave New Zealand, the love of my life no longer wanting anything to do with me.

I don't want to go. I'll miss everything about this country, including your magic with the dough.

Meh is the word to describe the pizzas. They were very greasy. Oil literally dripping off the like a stream. The sauce and cheese were okay. I do like the pizza base. So. All in all, just greasy pizza in extra large size with good base.
