Salvation Army Family Store reviews
12 The tidy and well-organized environment, coupled with the genuinely friendly and helpful team, made for an exceptional visit. Items are In pretty neat condition and definitely reasonable prices.
In particular, I would like to mention Sunny, the person at the till, he is polite, helpful with a welcoming smile.
Feeling like i really wanted to get a new duvet cover, but not able to pay the $70 for a new one at briscoes when it's already discounted by 70%, i went in and found just what i wanted - a beautiful king size duvet and pillow cases for $10. So Thankful!
Plus the staff were really helpful even though it was just on closing time.
I used to love this shop and during the years I lived in Franklin I have donated and bought a lot of stuff. However, I am going to re-think my support for this charity because of their rude staff and total lack of respect for the customer. They are the only outlet in Franklin that doesn't offer baskets to their shoppers. If you like more than one item - well, you will struggle to carry your finds around the shop and to the counter.
They are also the only secondhand outlet here that doesn't pack your items and don't even offer you a bag.
There is a young woman at the till, who is extremely rude. Yesterday I bought 6 items, half of them breakable. I asked her for a bag, so I could carry them safely to my car. She literally threw one at me! Don't expect a smile from this creature. She is there to humiliate you! Shame on you Salvation Army store, Pukekohe!
Very good!
Very nice organized shop.
Prices is reasonable really to help people to survive who need help now. Huge range of household stuff. Clothes and toys.
Thanks!
Lovely volunteer staff. Great variety and prices with things changing every day. Great store to shop at!
Used to be one of my favorite charity stores but sadly no longer. The prices now are silly! I saw a kmart plant pot there today and it was priced higher than it was new at kmart. Plus a small lego set priced at $70! You can buy the equivalent new from Farmers or Warehouse for between $35-$40. Get real with your pricing please!
Coming from South Africa, I am in awe of the Charity or Op shops here in NZ. The Salvation Army stores offer a fantastic range of products at incredible prices along with friendly staff.
We have been shopping at the Sallies for years but after today I don't think we will be back.
The young girl on the counter needs more training on how to speak with people and the Manager, well the lady who said she was sorry but she needs replacing asap I've never known anyone in authority in a second hand shop to yell at a disabled person while asking a question and after asking a simple question. Total disgusted with her mannerism and lack of help loading a item into a vehicle staff/volunteers seemed more worried about what they had and were putting into their bags outback.
Like this shop but could do with tiding up a little as stuff seems to be too large for where they have placed it in some areas. Or mismatched items in areas. Not sure if it makes any sense just needs more organising
* Good place to shop
(clothing, shoes, toys, bric-a-brac, furniture, manchester, books)
* Reasonable pricing on most items, not all
* Plenty parking
A treasure trove if you're looking for anything from books, clothing for any age, kitchen equipment, bedding etcetc when you need something and can't afford to spend much money
Love this place. It's like a lucky dip. Some days I get some great bargains, other times it's all junk. Even better is all the money goes to a good community cause.
