Scarecrow reviews
69Scarecrow is located next to the Sky Tower's spectacular photo spot. There used to be an Asian stuffed animal shop here, and I would often come there with my kids to buy them, but it has been a long time since it became a cafe. Scarecrow is a shop with a wide variety of items and is a bit different from your average cafe in a good way. In addition to regular cafe menus, there are a wide variety of items displayed throughout the store, including bread, eggs, vegetables, fruits, sweets, oil, canned goods, and other miscellaneous goods. The products are displayed in a stylish way, and just sitting there makes me happy. The coffee is great, the staff is friendly, and this is my favorite shop.
The food here is something else. Amazing flavours, great rustic vibe and quality produce and products. Must visit again - highly recommend!
Was busy and buzzy, was bumped from my four seater to a two seater, because they wanted to seat more people. Cancelled my order and went and sat next door in the sun. So no idea about the food, service was focussed on revenue but the atmosphere seemed good for those who are there.better options near by Paname Social and an in named japanese in Kitchener street which had excellent Coffee and service. Coffee at Paname Social is very good.as are the pastries
Had a nice breakfast at Scarecrow recently. It’s a really lovely grocer/bakery/restaurant tucked in the middle of downtown Auckland. The staff are lovely but it’s very disorganized. It was packed when I was there, with many people waiting around for a table. It wasn’t clear which staff members were responsible for showing you to a table- you never had the same server and were left to fend for yourself if you wanted to order food. I had to clear a spot for myself at a larger group table. Also, I ordered the big breakfast but it was very meat heavy, so I didn’t eat much of it- some fresh fruit or more toast would have been more enjoyable. Would try it again but they would benefit greatly from developing a more organized way of dealing with their heavy crowds!
By far my favorite place to eat or have a coffee in Auckland. The staff are awesome, food is to die for and location is wonderful as well.
Disappointing meal at Scarecrow last Saturday afternoon. Have enjoyed the place over the years, and liked the look of a lamb & farro dish I saw a customer eating on an outside table. Mine arrived quickly, and while the flavours were pleasant, the outside customer clearly received the lion's share of proceedings, with my dish containing no more than a scrap or two of meat. A drag, at these prices, for the chef to present this (instead of admitting, sorry we're scraping the bottom of the barrel). Maybe it was a subtle hint to eat more vegetarian? A bit amateurish, sorry guys.
Took my mate here for an afternoon coffee catch up although he paid hee hee. I've been before but it was years ago. I went for the (sweet) chai latte and I did like how I was asked whether I wanted it spicy or sweet. Good to see that this café is still going strong and I'll need to come back to try the food and check out the goods on sale. It would be a good place to check out for secret Santa gifts or any gift giving occasion really. I'll most likely come back for lunch when I'm working from the office. Good location and outdoor seating is available. Potential spot to start at before your shopping spree in town or to get some sustenance post-shopping spree.
Very cozy atmosphere! Aside from the fact that the seats were placed really close to each other, the cafe presented good environment for having meals and enjoying chats. Soup of the day was amazing and the bread was toasted really well. Almond milk foam on top of the coffee made my day. The
Great atmosphere with good coffee and friendly service! Love the local goods sold here as well.
I ordered online for same day delivery for my parents’ anniversary, but I mucked it up- rang them and spoke two two lovely people who helped me immediately. Delivery was made and the flowers were absolutely gorgeous and the card. The flowers lasted so long- this is the only florist I will ever use in auckland now and look forward to visiting the deli and store in person. Thank you!
Fancy restaurant with high end charge but for poor customer service. Food is standard same as coffee. But for the price it is. Sorry not up to my standard. Did ppl nowadays just think sell organic n vegan so can charge 3- max time price is rip off customer or just aim for a noonish rich. Thx but no thx. Yes I order takeaway but staff seem not happy I order takeaway coffee n deliver with cup n not happy to change. Sorry it’s not like I make mistake from my side. U don’t need to apologize as it’s my fault to order takeaway coffee. If u rich n know nothing about food n coffee yes give good review But u don’t give review based on price as that is joke. Why bother giving review if u know nothing about customer service n food. Thx. I gave two stars as shop decorations is great with relax vibe but customer service is firing me up lol. Also just realized that I pay for the takeaway cup for 50cent. Omg.
Helpful staff and delicious, freshly made food! Bonus mini grocery store inside where you can find artisan chocolates, Mediterranean condiments plus fresh bread up for purchase.
Lovely cafe, interesting food, gifts for christmas, some pre made meals to take away which look delicious
This is a very conveniently placed cafe in Auckland's city. The staff are always friendly and eager to help. Scarecrow has a range of menu and cabinet items, catering to different dietary needs. Yum coffee and lovely atmosphere. The tables are slightly close together, but the bright space doesn't make it feel cramped. Happy to say I enjoy visiting here!
Warm and cosy place to have a coffee and a brunch in Auckland. Coffee is very good and I find it always hard to choose what food to order. Everything is delicious! You’ll love spending time there.
Wonderful atmosphere, most tasty healthy fresh food with thoughtful vegetarian and vegan options. Highly recommend for a lovely day experience in the city
Great cafe and food market in central Auckland, came here for breakfast and staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Salmon omelette was delicious!
Lovely café serving free-range and vegetarian food. Very good value for money and they can accommodate small and large groups. The Victoria Street carpark is probably the most convenient carpark to this cafe which is slightly situated on the corner of Victoria and Kitchener streets. I went there for brunch.
Been here twice now coffee is great easy fast service just the babka and almond croissant the display container was full of small flies got for takeaway
Lovely cafe and great coffee! I ordered a kombucha through online delivery that was a bit past the expiry date, but it was a small oversight and they were very kind and apologetic about it. Thankful they're open during level 3, would recommend!
