As a contractor who has worked on sentinel sites in Auckland makes me wonder if any of the reviews have any experience in the building industry as sentinel has some of the worst and most out dated building practices around.

I used Sentinal to advise whether I could build multiple units on my site - after a few months they told me that it wasn't economically feasible.
After that disappointment they did take some time to provide a partial refund on my design deposit, but after a couple of reminders I got it in the end which was good.

I have known the owners of the North - West branch of Sentinel Homes for over 15 years and always found them to be very honest, straight talking and ethical people to deal with.
We have used their services many times in preparing upmarket house designs for clients and they have always been very helpful, knowledgeable and pay attention to the many details that are involved in the new home planning - construction process.

I cannot speak highly enough about the service and delivery of our home build with Sentinel Homes. From inception Ben Castelo delivered a professional service that was beyond approach and treated us like a friend and not a customer. The structured approach throughout the build was transparent, seamless, contact was frequent, updates were timely and curve balls were managed exceptionally well. The build itself went off without a hitch (bar COVID delays) and an ALMIGHTY push was made at the end to deliver our home on 23 December, a testament to the leadership and resilience of this group. Totally recommend! These guys are the real deal. Stephanie Field is a star and not your typical salesperson which is what I loved and why they stood out to me so if you are looking for a company that has a customer centric ethos - I definitely say go and check out their showhomes and experience for yourself!

Initially we were looking at existing properties for sale on the Hibiscus Coast.
After many months of viewing properties it was becoming increasingly frustrating and difficult to find a property which ideally suited our requirements and ticked all the boxes. This led us to look at available sections with a view to building.
Our first contact with Sentinel was through Kathy Sullivan. She immediately impressed us with her ability to understand our brief and put together a professional design and build package. She was extremely helpful and her enthusiasm and ability to think outside the square coupled with her product knowledge and understanding of the building industry is what stood her apart from her opposition. This made our decision to choose Sentinel to build our home a no brainer. Her positive approach and continued interest in our build made her a joy to work with and instilled us with peace of mind which has continued throughout the build.
We would gladly recommend Sentinel to any prospective client as a very reputable company (Master Builder Membership) to build with. Sentinel provided us with a total professional approach in all aspects of the building process with excellent communication from the top down. Every Sentinel staff member we had dealings with throughout the build we found to be very pleasant and proficient in their field of expertise.

Waisted year of lives promising and not delivering.
They proposed a "tweak" to our design we provided. We agreed and waited months for a completely wrong design due to no consultation.
Nothing happens without chasing and chasing. Communication between Sentinel and the archetect seems to be void.
Finally we get a design closer to the breif but without any checking in with us or communication of any sort. Questions are not allowed!
You want a "cookie cut" house, fine.
Anything else these are not the guys.

After a year they finally say our house isn't what they want to do.
Nothing in the breif changed, they just washed their hands.
If they had just decided this a year earlier it would have saved us so much time and anguish. We could have found a competent builder.

No apologies and only a threat of disputes tribunal got our money back.

Look elsewhere.

Sentinel Homes Auckland North & West did our design and build with Steph Field leading in pre sales. I can't speak more highly of the time, effort and professionalism Steph put in throughout the process, and we were stoked with the final result. We built a fabulous family home in Greenhithe in 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience with Sentinel and the rest of the team. Have been happy to show off our build and share our experience, but would happily do it over again.

That brings us to 2020 and our chance to build again, this time in Hobsonville. We once again turned to Sentinel. Maree and her team are always there to help with any questions we have. Excited to be moving into our new home and income.
