Shoreward Gastrobar Orewa

Lovely spot right by orewa beach.the salads were fresh and delicious and the service was quick and easy.

We only had drinks. We were by the door and constantly had birds flying in and out and landing near us, they need to close the doors it's unhealthy to have birds inside a bar/ bistro. Having had severe gastro enteritis once before from suspected bird droppings in food I know this. It put me in hospital for 2 nights. So clear out the birds. Also $36 for 2 beers and a vodka / soda is just too much. And the lack of real beer alternatives to the ever increasing foul tasting craft beers is something that needs to be addressed at more than one establishment.

Fantastic spot, great ambience, attentive and quick service. Food was really good, a must try if you're in Orewa. Will be back when it's sunny outside to take in the great views and local scene.

Worst pizza I've ever had. For $26 you get a big bread, no tomate, painted with a liiiitle very little of cheese, it just tastes like bread.
The atmosphere is cool but the pizza is a complete scam.
There are much better places in Orewa, don't come here.

Bad: We went once or twice & encountered young waitresses with sour attitude, but Good: the vibe of the place is great, the music is good, the location is excellent, the nachos are YUM, the pricing can be expensive but isn't everything these days? Overall, it is always fun to go to Shoreward!

Asked for vinegar for chips. Manager says he doesnt like vinegar he has some sort of phobia about it, He refused. Also asked for Tea and he said we stopped serving tea and coffee at 12! It was 12.45. Wont be going again and $106 not well spent. Wish we had walked out and not bothered.

Table booking for 18pax, made one week prior is a corner table, joint elbow to elbow. When we ask to reassign table/corner/etc, was met with shrugging, doing out best reply and colorful display of banging frustration by one bartender. In all fairness it is the rugby game night but at 18pax we would have easily spend more than 3table of 2. More effort could have been made to accomodate prior booking. We left after drinks. Zero customer service.

Terrible service! Ordered a Coke Zero when ordering the food, coke arrived half an hour later when the food was just about done after having to ask for it again. And it’s not like the bar staff were busy either, they were standing around, chatting and laughing. Not once did they check if we wanted anything. Food was also below average. We won’t be going back with all the other choice of restaurants around there.

Had an amazing lunch. Really good food, service was great and some great winter deals. Think I've found my go to place in Owera

Food was really delicious the only fault was the waitresses constantly asking us if we were okay - a few times in half an hour is okay but it was pretty repetitive

Shoreward is a beautiful spot right on the beachfront, seating with reserve and ocean views outside and the menu had plenty of options to suit all. Kids menu is awesome too, they have a fruit, cheese & vege platter option which is rare for kid menus! They also have awesome frozen drink options with Frosè, spiced rum and pineapple and sour berry (my favourite!) The Owner allowed us to sample all without us having to ask which was kind! Service was absolutely lovely.all doors were held open for us including the bathroom! Very happy with our choice! Thank you guys! Will be back soon!

Great pub, sells craft ales and cider in full, proper pint glasses, not the usual girly half pints sold in Auckland. The fish and chips were excellent and they were showing the darts matches on their telly. If I lived there this would be my local and I'd go there most days for a few pints. Nice crowd of folk, including families, and great staff.

Nice location to sit having a beer on a sunny day and people watching. Food is good, beer is cold, not much more to ask for.

The staff made a family birthday very memorable, nothing was too much trouble.
The food was delivered very fast considering how busy they were. Thank you Shoreward.

Nice & relaxed. Tasty food. Will be packed in Summer. There is a view through to the beach. Beach is only a short walk. Sunny in the morning.

This place used to be good but now a rip off. We ordered a main dish with pork in it & you could count the small pieces of pork on one hand! Not good enough!

Without asking
- added large lime to my sons rasberry and lemonaide
- removed our plates twice while we were eating
- and no apology or anything from the dry chicken nibbles complaint I sent to chef.

$100 x2 drinks x3 dishes.

The food was fantastic, a little perturbed that there was a mask to be worn sign on the door but what l looked like off duty staff were wandering in and out without masks on. Nevertheless I will go back again.
