Supposed to be open for the rugby, lights on, TV on but doors locked and no staff. Lol didn't expect to have to stand outside and look through the door.

Very popular place with a kiwi homely atmosphere, food was delicious and service is usually on time after chats with families and friends.highly recommend it

Family of 5.10 out of 10 for the entire experience tonight! The cherry on top definitely was the service. Our waiter was on top of everything, food service was on point & the best part for me is their were no fake smiles. Everyone was genuine & I felt they really wanted to make sure we enjoyed our experience.
It was our first time at Speights Stonefield & we will definitely be back

Went there for breakfast this morning and you would not even know the place was open as doors were closed and not a even sign on door saying they were open and we saw a couple of staff members in there and then decided to try the door which was unlocked, we were greeted by a very friendly female staff member, and after that it was a one way downhill experience, the eggs benedict I ordered and my lady ordered eggs on ciabatta, the wait for the breakfast was ridiculous considering we were the only ones there, and both our orders were served with a long time frame apart by what must of been the duty manager who wore a personal jacket and you would not know if he was staff or some random person and his pace on the floor was no more than snails pace.and the food was to say the least amateur and terrible. I wanted to try this place as it looked great.but I would not entertain the thought of ever going back, and it is easy to see why the cafe next door was overflowing with customers and this place was empty

Awesome venue.bit pricey but was worth it for quality and quantity of food. Will definitely be back.

This is our local and we've eaten here many times over the years. Booked lunch for two. We both ordered the fish n chips meal. It came out quickly but was very underwhelming. Beer batter on the fish was soggy and dense (not crisp) with the accompanying chips overcooked. The best part of the meal was the salad. For $34.95 per meal, we expected better quality food as we have received many times in the past. Overall, it was disappointing!

I guess there was no atmosphere because the place was empty for a Saturday lunch. Rather disappointing. The guys behind the bar were really helpful and nice! Staff were the best thing about the place. The pizza was ok…just ok. I wouldn’t come back. Been there and done that. Maybe better for something other than lunch on the weekend.

Food was good. Little bit on the expensive side.
Service was ok, but waiter got distracted by a bigger group and I had to go to the counter twice for service.

Nice to see the brought back the Kids eat free Tuesdays.

A place to meet and get a feed. Large portion meals, which is nice, I'm not a beer drinker so can't comment on that. Can be noisy in the pub so get around the corner in the restaurant if you want to talk

Went in around 4pm. It was quiet. Getting a drink, no problem. Getting a snack, no problem, the staff came to the table. Then it all went downhill. Chronically Understaffed. The server did not come back to our table but did serve others.waiting to pay for the snack, as no one bothered to come for our order just topped it off. ADDENDA: I checked my balances a couple of days later, and a sneaky credit card/ paywave surcharge was added! Nowhere did it say a surcharge is added onto cards. I know times are tough, but this is unacceptable no matter how small.
Yes, it was a busy night later due to the rugby, but surely the management should have staff contingencies when this happens? TBH the wedges were overpriced at over $10 for a portion. More than a glass of house pinot gris. (Plus tax) Not in a hurry to go back, sadly. Have sent an email re surcharge, waiting to hear back.
UPDATED: Went in tonight. So quiet, but still the good was not great. Yhe young Estonian waitress was lovely. It was her first night. Such a pity the kitchen let everything down. The Prawn pizza was not a prawn pizza. There were maybe 3 shrimps and one small prawn and a very laclustre pizza. Thankfully not my meal. The fettuccine was very average. I didn't finish it. At 28 and 29 dollars for each main, it was really not acceptable. The other two meals seemed ok. They were eaten. Honestly, I hate paying lots of hard earned cash for something that is at best mediocre. It was a very quiet evening and the whe thing should have been better. It wasn't the waitresses' fault. Management needs to get the quality control sorted our and stop cutting corners. Not recommended.

As soon as you get to the counter a staff member greets you and takes you to your table and arranges your first drinks.
After that the service team come around regularly to see if you or any other tables need anything.

Very disappointed with the food. We had a team dinner and hardly anyone was satisfied with the food. Chicken was over cooked and was chewie, pad Thai dint even had actual pad Thai noodles, the manager dint even know what all goes in the cocktails. Not going back.

I checked that it was open until 11 o'clock, but we had to come out at 9, It wasn't really happy experience in an uncomfortable. Half an hour after we entered they said they were closing soon and they talked after we had already placed an order and received food. I can understand the situation when there are not many customers, but they should have informed us before we ordered.

Worse meal I have ever had. It was literally a stringy bag of salad with a few chicken pieces scattered around it topped with 2 cherry tomatoes. How you can charge over $25 is absurd. Won’t be seeing me or my friends again. I mentioned this to the waitress and the manager and nothing was done

I had the pork belly it was so tough,
But the slaw was really yummy and the service was great. I wish they had bought out the kids food a bit sooner but I should have requested that. Bit over priced for the quality.

Disappointing, worst service I’ve experienced.forced to move tables after 20 min because another group was deemed more important than us.

I came here on Sunday at 8pm with my wife and the it was nice and quite, I think thats why we got kicked out at 9pm even though it says they open until 11pm. I know we came in late and we understand. We still enjoyed few drinks with shoestring, I will try to come in earlier for next time so you guys can finish up early

Ok, but for me it lacked any pub atmosphere. Food was ok, good beer selection, but nothing gave me the feeling I need to go back.
