3It's been a pleasure working with Andy and the team at Strategic Planning Co. Andy's collaborative, knowledgeable and provides sound planning advice.
Led by Andy, Strategic Planning Co.provides clients with a service that allows their projects to succeed and knowledge to better build their own capabilities for future endeavours. I have had the pleasure of working on a project where Andy was brought on to help. Not only did he help build a coherent programme of works and succinct project controls cycle for me and the team to use; he also took the time to pass on his wealth of knowledge to train up those he worked with. His passion for all things project controls is amazing and his drive to allow clients to make data driven decision making (by providing them with the data) is top class. Finally, I had the privilege to see first hand some of the tools and systems that Andy and the team have and implement in projects. It doesn't matter what stage of a project you are in, the benefits and value that Stratgic Planning Co.provides is well worth it!
As Project Control Manager on the Waikato 50 project, I worked closely with Andy who held the project planner role. As a $150m drought response project which had to be designed, consented, procured, constructed, and commissioned in just 12 months (a process that would typically take 4 years), the effective management of the project programme was critical to the project success.
Andy was extremely knowledgeable in the practice of planning and quickly established a programme review cycle that allowed us to capture programme data accurately, measure variance, and report this effectively to the project execution and management teams. This robust review cycle also provided excellent historical data on delays and mitigations throughout the project and allowed us to justify EoT claims with the client.
Andy is a brilliant planner who is always willing to consider a request and develop a solution to provide the information requested. He will do so collaboratively, diligently, to a high standard, and deliver on time.
I thoroughly enjoyed working with Andy on this project and would like to work with him again.
