Three of us ordered gelato. The quality and flavours were out of this world. Special call-out for the lemon curd yogurt, double chocolate and raspberry. The service was great and toilets clean. The patio looked lovely, but we didn’t sit, preferring to walk the beach.

Visited this place many times over the years. Ambience is fantastic and on a sunny day it is hard to find a place in Auckland with a better vista. Menu changes seasonally but always contains a mix of classic favourites and new and innovative dishes. Service is always top notch and wait for food is not long even at the busiest of times.

Had the Muesli which was very basic, only fruit given was tasteless stewed apple, and i mean it was tasteless! We are in Spring there are loads of other fruits they could have used, but No it was tasteless stewed apple, even tinned apple has more taste. $18. Service great, they have a good location, food very average. Won't be going back.

Great food and coffee and best ice cream I've ever had. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Quite busy there on Sunday afternoon but didn't have to wait long at all for a table. Highly recommend there for breakfast, brunch, lunch or an icecream. Lovely view and atmosphere down by the water on takapuna beach, at the boat ramp.

Awesome service from the man from Japan (sorry I don't know your name) he was polite, friendly and attentive. I had the fish and chips which was lovely. The chip portion was huge but the fish portion comprised of 3 small yet filling pieces which won't make a man full. Highly recommended eatery.

Beautiful place in a beautiful location. Great food and decent service. A bit overpriced, but I guess that's what the location gets you. Always worth a visit when you're in the area. Sit outside if the weather is good:)

I ordered Lamb Gnocchi, looked beautiful, well-balanced healthy meal with vegetables and lamb.

Don't know if the chefs have changed but my breakfast was really bad, I chose the Crushed Avocado – 24 / 31
Burnt tomato salsa, onion crisps, poached egg, feta, salsa verde, sourdough / with chorizo
Nothing tasted good and super expensive, maybe a strange combination of flavours, I left half of it on the plate:/
After reading more reviews I can see the ownership has changed - No wonder, they need some new chefs.

The location is beautiful, but the food quality has gone down drastically since the new owner took over. The new owner is a very young guy that’s clearly just out to make money. Every time I’ve been there since the new owner took over I’ve been so disappointed with the food. It’s been cold every time, and very low quality ingredients. Very overpriced for what’s offered too.

Nice food. Awesome service by proper professional wait staff. It's really busy on the weekends, you might have to wait, but it is worth the wait.

We only had a coffee and cake but the staff were very helpful and accommodating. The food and drink were fine. It's in a great spot being close to the boat ramp beach and lots going on.

As a regular, I can vouch for the Beach Cafe's super friendly service, good coffees, gelato, pastries, and a la carte menu. Sparkling water on tap for the win! Obviously the views are stunning. The staff get to know your coffee order which is a nice touch. My only recommendation would be more vegetarian/vegan options on your menu pretty please:) Kudos for your sustainable options by the way! (e.g. Keep cup friendly, no plastic straws, wooden ice cream spoons instead of plastic).

As soon as my smoothie arrived I was absolutely shocked at how small it was. More expensive than your average cafe price and half the size.
After 3 gulps it's gone.
$9 is REDICULOUS for the very very VERY small amount you receive.

Such a great vibe and atmosphere and did I mention the view. Great food, a place to sit down and have a lovely meal or grab an amazing ice cream or coffee and a walk on the beach

Food was absolutely average and disappointing considering the amount of reviews and the high rating. I had eggs Benedict which honestly shouldn’t be easy to make tasteless but somehow the cooks here did that, $27 for it and the Rosti (a shredded hash brown) was crunchy and mushy on the inside and yuck. Had the special of the day which was watermelon juice for $9 in a tiny glass and it was like most of the food we had, almost okay but somehow yuck.

I had a pumpkin pie from Z petrol station which was $4 and better than anything we had at this cafe, that’s saying something mate.

My last attend was last year. It was still very good. But last weekend I went there, the food was terrible. The chicken salad I ordered was the most terrible one i ever had. The chicken was dry and ROCKY hard! I couldn't even bite it.knoking the chicken with my knife sounds like knocking on a rock! The $37 wagyu beef burger was tasteless and dry. The chips doesn't look fresh at all, dry and aged. SOOOOOOO disappointing!

Nice place, pretty average food and don't forget it's quite pricey. Also, it can be too crowded specially on the weekends.

Takeaway experience disappointing fish not fresh and oily, chips dry and overcooked and homemade sausage in bread tasteless and dry. Partial refund appreciated and ice cream great.the only reason to return.

Although we didnt have food we were totally impressed with the lovely service, good coffee & cool teapot of kawakawa tea. We received constant refills of sparkling water & were given the days paper. Busy place on a tuesday morning & from what we saw deservedly so.
