Went here to get a quote for a leaking flange and they fixed my muffler on the spot. Great quick service, will definitely come here for any other muffler needs I have.

These guys were great did a mid muffler delete on my dodge challenger sounds beautiful if i change my mind and want a complete new system these guys will be doing it, good price, great workmanship, even adjusted one of my tail pipe was a bit low

Completely RIP OFF, that old dude is so greedy and would give you worst option to go with so that he can charge you for second trip.
Quoted me $780 for muffler delete and sports exhaust install but found out they installed a straight pipe. When i asked about it the old dude started yelling and swearing.

I have taken 4 cars to these guys and every single time I leave the store happy. Great prices, great options, really good knowledge, & very quick service. Highly recommend Takapuna mufflers for any performance exhaust work. Keep up the great work guys!

Nothing more then a scam artist that takes advantage of people also only wants cash as payment I suspect that's to avoid paying tax to IRD

What a joke

Was quoted $400 roughly for work on my exhaust.

They removed my aftermarket muffler and welded a stainless tip to it which was awesome.

They also hollowed out my cats, which added to the sound, but was not what I asked them for at all.

I was pretty shocked when I got the final bill of around $900, $500 more than what I was originally quoted in person.

They then asked me to go to an ATM and withdraw $900 in cash, but ended up doing bank transfer instead.

Poor customer service, overpriced and not the best communication, otherwise the exhaust sounds awesome.

Went again to give them another go. They were much more polite and everything seemed to go a lot smoother. They took me under the car and explained their professional view based on my request. The job was done very fast and too a very good degree of quality. Definitely not a place to go for dirt cheap work. Understandable prices for sought-after skills. Great job, car sounds awesome.

We are very disappointed of this company, the person who did the job to our truck is very rude and disrespectful. We been with you for a few times but this is what we get. You charged us to change the exhaust for 2 to 3 thousand without asking for our authorisation. If we wanna go ahead or not You should have at least let us know that price before you do it. We will understand if you charged us for a few hundreds but few thousands! Omg you should have talked to us and negotiate, we are shocked for the price and you wanted us to pay that in full? At the end you broke what you have fixed in purpose because we couldn’t pay you straight away. You have no heArt, to greedy I will definitely not recommend you and never use you. Good luck in the future.

Takapuna Mufflers made and installed a towbar on my van. They not only did the towbar exactly as I had asked, but also did an excellent job and ensured the attachment to the van was good and strong.
I couldn't be happier with my new towbar.

The job was done very quickly which I would say is there only good attribute as they took my cats after I got them removed and I had to pay almost double the original cost just to get them back was very upset about this as I still needed my cats for if I ever sell my car

Had the cats on my 07 Passat removed as they were destroyed. Quick and quality job done in about 40 min

Waste of time and money going there. Wanted to quieten down my exhaust noise, they said 2 resonators needed to be installed, there was no test drive or reving the engine to hear the noise so hard to know what modifications to do but a name like Takapuna Mufflers you would think that's all they do is mufflers. I came back had the resonators installed and did absolutely nothing to quieten the noise down. Took it to a real muffler shop today and they said those 2 resonators installed did not need to be fitted and wouldn't have made it quieter. Got the back muffler changed with a test drive and reving the engine very simple things to do to understand the problem just Takapuna mufflers are know it alls

Rang previously a day beforehand and booked my car in to have a pipe made up to convert 3inch downpipe to 2.5inch exhaust.

Was told I must supply my own flanges and bolts and I cannot stay within the shop area I had to leave. Cost quoted was $200-300 on the phone.

Job completed, charged $300, he kept my downpipe worth around $100 as scrap and said the price will be $300 with the discount of keeping the catalytic converter in the downpipe.

Cowboy worker who will extort you for everything he can, get quotes before work is done or you WILL be overcharged.

Would not recommend. Going to this business.

Hi guys its a must to read this i changed my exhaust system here and they took my catalytic converter the guy at this shop was trying to say the catalytic converter is not worth money but took it and sold it on facebook for 300 each dont leave you cat worth a lot of money.people buy them on facebook

I went in for a quote I'm very happy with my quote they certainly seemed to know what to do without any problems and I'll be back next week to get the work done

Got charged $150 to cut a muffler and install 10cm long pipe that took 20minutes to do. Went on break when i was waiting outside in the rain and didnt bother offer shelter
