This is a world class facility. The building is worth visiting irrespective of what is on display. They don't have a permanent collection so it changes constantly but they do have some really fabulous offerings.

If you like minimalism you will love Te Uru. Vast spaces with minimal art. Less is not more. A shame, it's a beautiful building that should be buzzing with the works of Aucklands best artists on display. What is the curator thinking? I go every year there are often more staff than visitors.

Although it’s a small art gallery, it offers a variety of art pieces on display. The art building itself has interesting history.

Architecturally this is a fascinating building with all sorts of interesting angles and shapes of walls and rooms. The ambience of the environment was warm and light. The display rooms were inviting and enhanced the artworks they were displaying. The gallery shop held beautiful items, many of which I would purchase if I had the money. I would encourage people to go and soak up the positive energy.

Really enjoyed seeing the Rita Angus exhibition. There was a good range of her paintings on display. There was free public parking on the road right outside the door

Great for a look. And also, walk or take old lift to the top of the roof at Lopdell house next door - amazing view

Great gallery and interesting collection. Not that many visitors early afternoon so I had plenty of time to look around. Lovely staff.

Superb building showing both local and national artists. Elizabeth Thompson's exquisite moths and Tia Ranginui's photographs are stand outs! Plus there's a cafe next door where you can sit by the window with a beer and watch the world go by.

What a superb building- a gem in the bush. I’ve not been to Titirangi Village before and I was more than impressed with this Art Gallery. Something to be proud of and a real find. Pieces for sale in the gallery shop were impressive and something to consider if you are looking for that special gift. We’ll worth the visit.

Te Uru Waitākere Contemporary Gallery is an absolute gem! This is the place to come to if you want to experience new and contemporary art. They change their exhibits and installations often, to make every visit fresh and interesting.

Your personal taste will inform the visit. Some contemporary installation are brilliantly inspired and inspiring, and showcases local New Zealand history and artists. Although I could appreciate the passion and effort that went into creating those works of art, I just didn't "get" some of the pieces.

The building itself is an architectural marvel. It also offers beautiful outside views, displaying the wooded areas and the harbour as art itself.

Well worth a visit!

Every beautiful corner is a new instance to surprise yourself and wonder: art or lunacy? Geniuses or nutcases?

A superb gallery architecture wise with beautiful framed views over the rainforest to the harbour. Contents depend on your personal taste. Some contemporary installation brilliantly inspired by local history. Some other art was merely arranged jetsam and flotsam, so being a cultural phillistine completely lost on me. Each to their own.

Asked for my bag " because there is jewellery in the display". Inferring I was going to steal it? The European lady before me didn't get asked for her bag?
Art display was not inspiring!

The new building has great views and a changing exhibition cycle. Check their website for what's going on.
