The Beach House, Kawau Island

This place is like paradise. I felt like I was in Fiji and yet I was so close to home! A true relaxing retreat for our anniversary. I can’t wait to return again.

Absolutely superb venue for that special get-away, small and intimate, first class accommodation.

I had a wonderful lunch at The Beach House on Kawau Island this Easter weekend. Chris was super friendly and makes a mean coffee while Camilla created fantastic Tacos (possibly the best fish Tacos I have ever had). Gary operates a smooth operation and has very friendly staff - would totally recommend checking them out!

We came here for our anniversary and absolutely loved it. We stayed in the bush cottage, which was separate to the main beach house. We loved it as it gave us privacy and a view. There are a few steps uphill to get to the cottage but totally manageable. Pack light. Chris and Camila were amazing. Very hospitable and accomodating. Chris was so very kind to bring us drinks to our room. We can’t thank him enough! Fabulous hosts. The chef was exceptional. And she also makes an excellent vodka soda and fresh lime! Loved it. I would have to say the best food we had in a long time. We had the prawns and the pork belly dish for entree and mains fish snapper and the vegetarian mushroom dish. It was out of this world delicious. Breakfast is included in your stay which is fabulous. Takes the thought out of it. Breakfast was also amazing! Presentation of all the meals were fabulous! We had a really lovely time and will be recommending to our friends.

Words can’t describe how amazing our stay was. I booked kawau beach house as a surprise mini getaway from the hustle and bustle of Auckland for my partner.

The staff are so welcoming and kind and the views are to die for. The bedding etc is exceptionally comfortable and everything here exceeded our expectations.

The cocktails, food and overall experience is second to none.

Amazing place in paradise. We came with our boat a d enjoy the best dinner we"ve ever had in New Zealand. Service was excellent and prices fair for such an exclusive treat. I am very glad I found this place and definitely we will be back soon!

Nice lunch. Lovely managers who accommodated our walk in dining. Suggest you book ahead of time as it is very popular.

We were at The Beach House just before Waitangi Day and had the greatest experience. We were greeted at the pier when we got off the ferry. Our room was excellent and had all amenities you could think of. We had some of the best seafood we have ever eaten sitting outside looking at the beautiful ocean. My wife has a dairy allergy that they took such detailed care to make sure everything was prepared properly. The three course dinner was sublime; each dish was better than the last. We were taken care of so well from start to finish we didn't want to leave.

Amazing location with paddle and kayak available to enjoy the turquoise sea and we even saw some eagle rays!

Great spacious room and clean, king size bed very comfortable, amazing shower and an awesome view from our deck on the sea.

An exceptional service well managed by Luke who is always ready to help. Great guide from some amazing walks.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner made by the chef Karina are amazing and gourmet with New Zealand products and some great wine to go with the dinner either 3 or five course!

A very welcoming team altogether, i couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Beyond Disappointed! Terrible food and the coffee was REVOLTING! Unfortunately we use to come here multiple times a year as a stop off for lunch while boating and fishing and was our favourite spot but this summer we were SO disappointed. I think these must new owners? Bread was stale and hard clearly off? We also ordered a cheese platter and got 6 crackers and no knifes to cut the cheese. To top it off one of the staff was so rude and unaccomdating, we were standing on the grass patch out front prior to lunch and got asked to move off as it was private land even though we were waiting for the restaurant to open.we then sat down for lunch had a group of 9 adults and a baby with us and moved some chairs so we could all sit together to get told “off” that we would stratch the painted pine deck.won’t be coming back here again.

Stunning location.gd service. I wish they had a full menu but understand due to remote location it's off the beaten track and the trade would b sporadic.otherwise gd selection of drinks and the cheese board was great.gd place to kick back.soak up the views.impress friends.its exclusive and special.nestled in a stunning bay.if u have a boat or helicopter it's a wonderful treat
