The Brit Pub & Eatery reviews
75Had a few drinks here. Atmosphere was OK, the bar lady was questionable as she tried to serve us adding where the syrup had rub out of the soda. She tried 3 times over to get it right, I just ordered a different drink in the end.
Great for a drink and something to eat. You can have small shared dishes or a full meal. I had the beef cheeks which just fall apart. The rocket salad was good as well. There was enough food for two people to share:)
I didn't like the fact that you have to order food at the bar. The staff don't come to your table except when to drop of your food.
Great place to meet after work. Can be quite noisy, so not ideal for a romantic date. Good music, food and drinks. Close to transport, hotels and bars.
It's always a crowded pub, and it's a good place to watch sports or have fun with others. It's an open atmosphere where you sit at any available seat in the spacious restaurant and order and pay for food and drinks using your smartphone according to your table number. The food wasn't to my taste, but it's a great place to watch sports with a beer in hand.
Love to come here after a big day at work and chil. The drink options are great, the food is great, the staff are great and the atmosphere and vibe here is awesome. Love the place!
Highly recommend the burger. The bartender was friendly and had great recommendations. The restaurant has an open layout which was inviting especially with the open doors letting in a nice breeze. There was free WiFi available which was great since we were lost tourists.
Great vibes, a bit more upscale than a regular British pub. Generous portion, fast, efficient and attentive service.
Expensive as had fish n chip.
Tiny bits of fish. Wasn't value for money.
Found couldn't easily chat because it was so noise due to the nature of the old building.
Wouldn't go back
Great find, great atmosphere.
Went twice in our short visit to auckland. Did steak night.
Two of our party had raw chicken, not good! To be told it wasn't raw by a manager, and it was just a blood vessel - pull the other one! Four bad pieces between two people, not a good look.
Really enjoyed my experience having food and cocktails pre The Red Hot Chilli Peppers gig. Loved ordering our drinks via our phones, super handy! Really buzzy atmosphere, gorgeous decor. Highly Highly recommend!
During our extended stay in Auckland, the Brit became our home away from home! The location, the pub, the food and the friendly staff were amazing. With all the boxes ticked we were there everyday for drinks, a meal or just chillin to take in the atmosphere of the surrounding port/harbour. If you're in Auckland visit the Brit Pub & Eatery they will welcome you with open arms. Its the place to be! Experience everything its got to offer - it will not disappoint!
Back again! I had a green bowl and my husband a burger, (I pinched some fries!) Friendly, good service and great food. Gets busy around lunch time.
Lovely pub, drinks very reasonable, great place to play pool wasn't many in when we went but filled up in the afternoon.
Had nachos and chicken burger for lunch was an awesome day would def go back
Large airy venue not too noisy
Ordered at table by phone, drinks and food arrived quickly.
We had tapas style food which was very nice, loved the cauliflower bites.
Solid pub. We took our young kids here for lunch and it was perfect. The kids menus was great and it has enough spaces that we weren’t annoying other patrons too badly with our children.
We were there for the ABs game unfortunately staff weren’t on form and service was slow and staff were short and rude about getting drinks and food. Think the style in which orders where going through was poorly manage. Such a same we went else where because of the poor service received: (I wouldn’t go there if you were more than a group of 6ppl.
Arrived 10 mins early before our reservation at 12. Doors were open even though they weren’t open and staff seemed offended we came in. Weren’t very welcoming and said we can sit at our table across the room. Went to find our table and couldn’t find the table reserved for 10 people which I had booked for. Got a confirmation email the day before that I confirmed and someone called me an hour before to confirm the 10 people booking and I said yes. The table that was reserved for us was for 8 people and then when we asked that we needed 10 they said there was nothing they could do. Absolute waste of time.
A busy sports bar with a good selection of food choices. Watch whatever sport you are interested in on one of 3-4 screens spread around the seating areas
