The Crab Shack reviews
58Me an my family went out for dinner here spent so much the crab was so yuk an it was stink an it was cold the kids fish n chip are nice but wouldn't eat there ever again
Love it here. Great service and food, staff are helpful and knowledgeable. Soft shell crab and crowded are delicious and the daveys mess dessert is to die for.
Omg over rated for the $130 king crab of 5 legs (500grams) sitting in butter which they call sauce. The crab was over cooked, brittle and fell apart, definitely nowhere near succulent. I'm so disappointed, wish I read the reviews before hand. The upside, the best bar made drinks, vodka and sprite. The oysters were superb and delicious, the chicken wings were OK, and the roll was nice but too buttery and not worth $26 ️$235 later ️ for 2 people. Sorry I wouldn't come back for crab and I wouldn't recommend to anyway
It was a nice night in the city and dining outside. For the price we paid, it would have been nice to have table service. This was our first time at Crab Shack so it would've been nice to have explained to us that we had to go up to the cashier when we were ready to order drinks and food. The food was nice. Only negative would be the tuna poke. It was more of salad with pieces of tuna in it. The workers were very nice.
Wonderful place! The drinks here are amazing. The seafood, chicken and beef here had left a glorious taste in my mouth, just a beautiful place when having my average 6 pm dinner.
Had the best lunch here in recent months. Excellent snow crab, fresh and meaty. Even food from kids menu are awesome. Attended services and staff were very friendly.
The quality of food is not worth the price at all. I could make the same exact thing at home for 10x less the cost. Good hospitality but food is bland.
Disappointed upon going to the new location to find my 3x go-to menu items have all been removed off the menu (soft shell crab taco, raw fish, and peanut butter parfait). Ordered the tuna poke but didn't love it (too much Chunky veg & not enough tuna). Fried chicken was really nice (with Chipotle mayo instead of the jalapeño sauce it comes with). Service was good.
Great new location, food was awesome and the crab was deeeelish. Suggest you park at the AT parking across the street
The oysters was the only.food I enjoyed but the fried butter.milk chicken was dry, the Mac n cheese not so nice needed to taste the cheese more. Would I go back No
Closed. No info on website to say it's closed. I was there on a Tuesday and there were no signs of life at all. The feedback below is incorrect.
Very nice food excellent service cocktails delicious hoghlight of the night was king crab most awesome
Luv it! I was there almost 6 years ago. And recently, I’ve visited again! It’s mouthwatering and has been waiting long time for The Crab Shack
Amazing food, yes its order at counter, and it can be hard to locate staff, but when they're avaliable they're great, and there's also the option to order online through a qr code, quick service and honestly the best meals. A bit pricey, but justified given location, and quality of the food.
This place use to have the best seafood chowder in town but no it is not for sure. I don't what happened but the recipe is completely different not tasty and lack of seafood. However the service is still great
Shellfish was really good - we got oysters, mussels & clams. The sauce perfectly complimented them. However, we also got the snowcrab & it tasted as if it had been frozen and thawed and was horrible.
All though it was cloudy and raining, I certainly was pleased with the oysters which are now $3, the mussel pot and seafood chowder.
Crayfish/prawns with breadroll was average - it was covered in sauce and just tasted like something I could make at home and the mud crab that was $60 wasn’t very great as it was bland, tough, meat was hard to get out even with the pliers & ended up wasting as well which was unfortunate as it was too difficult to get out and felt like we were there all day/night but we know not to get it next time.
Service was good, and yeah, next time we’ll go for the other things we enjoyed I guess.
Another great food experience. Staff were up front about availability of some items. Food was delivered quickly, and everyone was happy with the meal.
They have that order and pay online at your table, which is fine for a couple, but a pain for a large group.
Delicious food. Amazing staff, very helpful. Delicious variety of alcoholic beverages to accompany the beautiful view we had
Decided to come back because of previous experience with good big blue swimmers and food service however this has now changed - at least for the Auckland branch.
Fried chicken wings were overcooked. And menu was misleading. Was advertised by server that the chicken wings were half price happy hour but when ordering them, this is per chicken wing and not as it suggests in its plural form. Felt like server deliberately misled us.
Mud crabs must have been spoiled as my partner and I felt unwell throughout the night with vomiting, stomach cramps and diarrhea just some of the symptoms.
Disappointed as we used to come here a lot. Will not be coming back. Avoid crab shack.
