The Good Home Howick reviews
55Amazing staff amazing food and amazing choice of drinks. Definitely recommend and we will be back
Three of us dined on a Monday evening. Service was excellent. Drinks are pricey, both beer and wine. We had some small plates- ribs and scallops with a bowl of fries. The scallops were pretty tasteless and watery. The ribs seemed to have been prepared sometime earlier and were dry and small. The fries were reasonably good. The childrens meal was basic.
The standard of the food seems to have dropped and we have been customers since it opened.
We will not be in a rush to return as there are better eateries now in Howick.
Been going here for years and it's consistently excellent everytime. Friendly staff, great service and the food is always amazing. Every single time.
Highly recommend.
Fantastic services all round on all occasions when we have visited. Ignore needless comments from the local Karen.
Planned lunch with friends to watch the NBA Finals. Called in and made a booking previous day. Asked if they were able to show the NBA finals on their televisions, the worker asked another staff who said yes so we made a booking. Went in the next day right when they opened.told them about our booking and asked the waitress if they could sit us next to the tv and change to the NBA finals, she asked the manager (older man with glasses) who said they werent showing it, didn’t know what the channel was and wasn’t willing to check. He then just continued on what he was doing, he didnt even approach us. We planned this brunch around watching the NBA. We ended up going to the Irish pub up the road. They didnt know what channel it was either but was willing to check and manage to pull it up and we had an awesome day out of it. Very poor service from the Good home after I had made a booking.
Food was good, as was our server when we came in. More on the pricey side.
Unfortunately, the workplace gossip here is incredibly easy to overhear. We could hear two waitresses discussing a “weird intimate relationship” between one of the girls and a much older manager.
I would suggest your staff be more aware of what they discuss around customers, especially those trying to enjoy their meals…
A great Howick local, quick friendly professional service, quick turn around on food. The food itself (snapper battered qnd pan fried) both were perfectly cooked. The homemade Aoli was great, very tasty.
Reasonably priced, would come back anything.
Outside seating, with smokers welcome as well.
We went last night. Delicious food (we had the snapper) and the staff were very friendly. We could not have wished for better service. They got it just right
The food here is not worth what you pay. I had the pork belly.was still hungry after. Service was average. Every server walked right past us despite seeing our glasses of water were empty and plates were ready to be cleared.
Staff were kind, friendly and helpful. The food was delicious my favourite were the calamari. Can’t wait to go again!
Table "service" months ago from one of the waitresses "Caitlin" was rubbish. She had an uncaring attitude and looked like she just wanted to return and gossip to her friends. Food was average.
Great service. Food was really good. Even when one meal was slightly slow staff really apologetic when they didn’t have to be. Always good at the moment.
I sat down and ordered a garlic bread. My god this garlic bread no words can describe. The Pizza.no word can describe. The beer, is good. The staff are lonely and the service is good.
Beef burger is epic and cheese cake was perfect. Wait staff are really friendly and professional. Great vibe!
Fantastic Meals so well worth booking a table good portions friendly helpful Young Staff. Fabulous Building
Had a good meal, and it was quite busy however service was good and our meals did not take that long to arrive.
The Good Home is exactly what the name suggests, a down to earth relaxed environment with warm surroundings to chill out in and enjoy a quiet evening or afternoon. In the colder months blankets are provided to continue to enjoy the outdoor setting in the heart of Howick. The menu is simple, delicious with a great selection of pizzas. I highly recommend the snack platter, easily enough food for 3 - 4 people for under $60. If you are in Howick, I highly recommend dropping into The Good Home.
This is one amazing place for a good meal and some really well made cocktails. We ordered for a meat pizza and 2 cocktails. It was really well made. The waitress also helped us in selecting what to eat. Clean bathrooms.
Awesome spot, great lunch, great dinner, excellent and friendly service that won't cost you an arm and a leg
Wait staff were so good and gave the best service. The place has an awesome ambiance and food wS equally good. Cocktails were well made and great variety. Not a big fan of veg but the eggplants were amazeballs.
