The Moving Company

We moved from south of Auckland to Whangarei (Northland) about 7 years ago. What could have been a horrendous challenge turned out to be an easy transition because of the team at The Moving Company. At this end they placed all the heavy furniture into the correct rooms etc - I didn't have to worry about a thing. Nothing was too much trouble - even when they discovered their truck couldn't come up our steep driveway - the team (including a female driver) hand lifted everything into the house with no complaints. Thanks guys - I would definitely recommend The Moving Company to anyone.

Luckily we packed a good portion of our goods, as we had numerous breakages due to their poor packing skills. Lost items, somebody else's goods delivered to us, poor communication as to progress and scheduling of shipping and arrival. No response to questions about lost item. Would not recommend at all. And note that The Moving Company is part of a group of companies operating from the same warehouse. The incorrect item we received was actually shipped by AusMove. So wouldn't use them either.

The WORST moving company! Full of lies and deceit.we were promised a 4-6 weeks timelime (from Auckland to Melbourne) 6 weeks later and our furniture is still in Auckland. Very unprofessional and poor communication skills. I do not recommend at all.

I have used them twice over the year to move between houses and also store my items inbetween moves. They are very friendly and professional and easy to communicate with. Their drivers/packers take great care with packing your items and putting them on the truck.

Terrible Company to Deal with, Initially they are great until they have packed and taken off with your product! Collected goods on 7th September 2022 in Australia & still haven't received them in NZ as at 12 January 2023. They don't respond to phone calls or call back when messages are left. If you get the chance use another company!

Beware don't use this company!
They allocated my household goods on a 'shared' container when the qoute clearly labelled 'sole use' container. It's been 7 days now and Donna Church / Patrick Bell stopped responding to my phone calls and emails, instead of trying to resolve the issue they completety went missing. We are now stranded in Melbourne with all of our household goods in Auckland.

We recently shipped our household contents to Australia. Initial contact and quote process was great, they even mentioned they could help us relocate a vehicle which I thought was amazing. Boy was I wrong! Once I accepted the quote and paid.we heard little to nothing from the company other than a date our furniture would be picked up. I was emailed customs forms for my car on the Friday evening before the car was due to leave 1st thing Monday morning. We then heard absolutely nothing from the company. Our delivery estimate at time of the quote was 6-8 weeks. After we had heard nothing from them about a delivery date, or shipment tracking I called to enquire only to be told that it would sit in Auckland for 4 weeks. After 15 weeks our stuff finally turned up in Adelaide! I realise delays happen but the absolute lack of communication from the company was abysmal. Also never ship a vehicle with this company! Nothing was taken care of. The lack of information to customer about or assistance was completely non existent. You are very much on your own! Including a lot of hidden costs

Just an all round great company to deal with! We were moving from Auckland to Christchurch with our goods going into storage for 5 months while we built a house. The price was very competitive, the communication clear and responsive and TMC delivered exactly what they said they would, when they said they would - excellent, especially given the disruptions around Covid-19! The moving crews both ends were excellent & our Account Manager (Patrick) was really good to deal with. We highly recommend The Moving Company:)

Initially things went well, prompt responses to emails etc. Things changed once our items had been picked up. We dealt with a lady called Sarah who wouldn’t respond to emails or phone calls. She didn’t follow through on things she said she would do. In terms of the actual move, we had a fair bit of stuff damaged, items had sellotape applied directly to the surface which left marks that we have been unable to get off. I wouldn’t recommend using the Moving Company.

RUN FOR YIUR LIFE
Damaged my house, damaged my furniture, and then ripped us off after the job charging more than double the quote.

Was verbally abused by the owner Greg Williamson for daring to ask for an explanation.

PS: He also said he'll just buy more fake reviews to bury mine, so folks this guy needs to be avoided.

The worst moving experience ever!

Simply awesome the whole process was done. I expected issues with the no of boxes but Randall was brilliant in giving the peace of mind. Emma is excellent in customer service

Toni was an absolute delight to work with. TMC Auckland was not only professional but friendly, making the entire experience easy and enjoyable. Can't recommend their team enough!

We had to arrange our move very quickly and deal with all those stresses of moving. From the quote to the packing and the removal of our household items was superb - our packer was simply exceptional and the guys who had to remove everything from our house need medals as we had a steep driveway and were just amazing. Thank you so much. Only comment is that the delivery did not go so smoothly - but we got there in the end and the guys on the ground moving out stuff were great. My advice is to ensure a visit by the local office is carried out to alleviate issues on the day. Overall though would happily recommend The Moving Company.

As soon as they have been paid not after sales at all. When asked for a way to track status of shared container below is what i got back. When asked for link to shipping line website and export team to date have not received any response.

"Customer should be able to track their shipment via any online free resources, such as the shipping line’s official website, using container number that will be provided.
You will receive the details from our export team. "

I'm absolutely made up with the moving company. I dealt with toni and she made the whole process so easy. We are relocating overseas and the whole thing around shipping your personal belongings across the other side of the world can seem quite daunting but she was always only a phone call away. The guys that came and collected all our items where great and very thorough when it came to the packaging as to make sure nothing got damaged in transit. I cant recommend this company enough!

We highly recommend The Moving Company (Auckland) for anyone who wants a hassle free move, with guys who are excellent at their job. Despite holdups which were out of our, and their control, they were patient, professional, polite, very strong and went above and beyond our expectations working much later than anticipated to complete the job. If we ever moved again we would not hesitate to use them again,

We used TMC to move from Auckland to Christchurch, I am very pleased with the service provided. They packed our belongings well, wrapped our bed mattress and packed my bike very nicely. Ravisha, the customer service manager who helped me organize the move was very helpful with any questions I had. The only issues I had was that the operations managers were slow to contact me back.

Quoted price of around $10k to move from Auckland to Sydney. Once our furniture arrived at the port in Sydney, the moving company extorted us to pay another $4k or they wouldn’t release it. We didn’t add any extra items to the original quote. Complete charlatans!

Used this company to move our furniture from Sydney to Auckland. Our stuff arrived months later than quoted. The company never gave us updates and gave us false dates of when our items would be unloaded from the shipping container in Auckland. Every time we called them the staff was extremely rude. Never again.
