The Postman's Leg reviews
62Great warm and friendly place with clean bathrooms and lots of space to sit and stand and enjoy the night
Be it a great location for an event, a great meal or just a cold beverage, id recommend The Postmans Leg every time. Ive always been greeted with a smile from staff who are professional and always do what's possible to insure an enjoyable experience.
A nice family style, refurbished about 9 years ago (from memory), above average pub & restaurant, with a dedicated outdoor family area for those glorious Summer days and little ones coming along with parents! I've never noticed wheel chair access? ️, as the pub is raised ground and I've always used the 2 lots of steps up to the front door. Also unsure about disabled parking but the dedicated carpark is quite large compared to other pubs/bars and restaurants.
Love the live music on Saturdays and especially on a sunny, clear, laid back Sunday afternoon.
The service is always friendly, mostly polite and efficient, though table service can be hit or miss with attention so you do need to walk up to the register or bar if wanting to add to original food & drink orders. Largely dependant on your waiter or waitress as to your overall experience.
Good array of nicely prepared (though smaller than average Pub/Restaurant servings) food to choose from. My personal opinion is I've found the mains are over priced for what you get and the quality of meat chosen e.g. The Steak and Chips is more like a $15-$20 meal not worth $35 at all, unless they're having a special on a certain main I stick to the Bar Menu and Starters. Vegan, Gf & DF options available for a lot of dishes, be it bar snacks, pizza, (by far my favourite!) as they have ALWAYS been tasty, with toppings evenly spread and a fair amount relative to cost, (not as good as Sals but better than Dominoes/Pizza Hutt!) Meatlovers or Chicken and Bacon are a hit with Hubby & I.
On the Pub menu/Starters: Chips, Cheesy bread - I love the Onion Jam & Blue Cheese or good old Cheese and Garlic, Squid Rings or Karaage Chicken are a go to, very tasty, expect $15-$18 each for latter 2 options.
Also Starters and Pub menu are a generally quicker service than mains, even on extremely busy summer weekend days.
Most reliable on the menu re: standards is anything except Mains and Dessert.
It seems that orders during a business day for food are hit and miss, regarding food size/quality, how well the chef has cooked and plated and speed of order to table - as a client of mine found out - never order the steak lunch rare, it's a porterhouse cut, one not inclined to be very pleasant unless ordered Medium unfourtunately and not a great dish when compared to cost, especially if you don't enjoy a fatty piece of side strip.
There's an outdoor area for drinks and dining plus a dedicated smokers/Vaping area. Each time I come here I've experienced the different vibes and options on offer from the bar food whilst playing pool or catching up with friends, to the restaurant and taking a client there for lunch or invited to family catch ups utilising the outdoor faux grass area, with picnic table set up and a medium sized kids playground. Oh. The kids menu is small but still has a good array of options and is a fair price. Kids playground with set up occupies the wee ones quite nicely.
Overall a 6/10 and a solid 3 stars for a pub style option if a social catch up or a nice option for Hubby and I when we want to go hang out and relax. A good option for a drink with snacks, especially if doing some shopping at Glenfield mall across the Rd before or after your visit.
Was there just after 5: 30pm the 15th July.
The staff seems friendly.
Decided that day to have a seat inside whoever it was bit dark, I understand that you would have lights on dimmers to give a bit of an atmosphere but if inside is darker then outside its not atmospheric its.
Booked a table online for 630pm for 5 people.
Confirmation email came thru saying booking is completed.
Arrived on time only to be told that no such booking has been made and thet the dining area is full. Were then told to find a table in bar area which was ok I suppose but with a family of 5 not the best. Food and drink good but overall experience as we were eating the restuarant was no way near full 8-10 tables free. I am unsure why this was I did question it but nothing came of it.
If you have booking emails and confirmation then what's the point of even having that on there.
Awesome service and food. Waitress suggested there was more comfy seats at another part of the bar and moved us which was spot on.
Very friendly staff and make you feel welcome. I recommend Postman's Leg to others.
Food are good. There are also tap beer and brew of the day. Indoor and outdoor seating are pleasent.
Great food and friendly staff. Perfect for the whole family with playground and trampoline outside
This place has the right vibe to chill with friends and family. I visited Postman's Leg with my friends. I liked the ambience and all the staff members, specially Jasleen. She was very warm and polite. Overall experience was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this cafe+bar+restaurant to all my friends. Excited to attend their Quiz Night next time.:)
Great decor and an excellent menu. I love the atmosphere here. There is a courtyard for outdoor dining, quiz nights, its family friendly and the service is fast and friendly. Excellent choice for a quick drink and a tasty snack and for a full meal
Great venue with plenty of space, food was slow but good, friendly staff and warm outdoor dining.
This is the place to go to meet up with friends, bring ya kids, bring your dog! Postman's leg know your dog is part of the family too! They have a great playground for the kids to keep them occupied too. Good times. And the live bands are great
Went on Sunday, there was a good band playing. Place was reasonably busy and plenty diners in the restaurant. Food looked good and the beer was cold. We didnt have a meal but bought some fries to nibble on. I thought it expensive at $9.50 for small pot with aioli. But I liked the place and would go back for a meal.
We have always loved Postman's Leg-its food and atmosphere.
Today we were disappointed. The pizzas were soggy and undercooked and $13.00 for a glass (not a pint) of tap beer was a bit much. We won't rush back anytime soon.
Amazing service by the french staff Brian,
Great atmosphere. And food with a good outdoor play area for kids
Went for the bottomless nachos. No vegetarian option (or even an alternative to beef). This is not specified anywhere. The staff member was very explicit that the entire table must participate, but didn’t take the time to ask about dietary or allergy requirements. A lack of dietary requirement accomodation seems like a straightforward thing to warn people about when shoehorning them into a deal.
Totally average. Nothing outstanding. If I'm paying $12.50 for a beer I'd rather have a nice outlook
Came in for Lunch and a drink, Had an amazing time and the fella Brian on the counter gave some great banter
Awesome place for families with a play ground for daytime or night time visits. Watch rugby on the big screen or throughout the restaurant on smaller screens or chill with family and friends over a beverage and/or have a meal. Friendly staff. I believe there was a pub that joined onto this place as well. So everything in one spot.
Always a great place if you need a beverage but also to entertain the kids! Love the joylab points and the large pours!
