The Vintry reviews
9Just had an incredible cocktail at the vintry - if you like tequila try this for sure.melon baby: tequila, jalapeno, melon, lime. It wasn't hot spicy, but a perfect blend with the lime and melon. Best cocktail I've had in years (and I've had a few)
Fab evening here to celebrate my husbands birthday! Food was fantastic, and the bar has such a lovely atmosphere. There was live music on which we loved.
Great place to go and chill and the girls behind the bar are so awesome and friendly and know their stuff!
Just had a 10/10 negroni - no surprise the bar tender used to work in a very good cocktail bar. Good food and lovely service, a very sweet spot.
Lovely place to chill with friends. Justin is a wonderful host. Love this place. Food is also goooooood.
Me and my buddy are regular here and this place never fails to surprise us. Weekends or weekdays, rest assured that you will well looked after. In our case we were attended by Kelly and though we reached a little before the closing, we were not rushed at all and took our own sweet time to finish the dinner. The food is always great here and so is their bar.plus there is a guitar kept right next to the fireplace which is always perfectly tuned! Perfect setting for a perfect dinner!
Their service will definitely have you coming back again and again. 7 stars!
The Vintry is always fabulous, especially when Latakana are playing there. Boutique beers, special whiskeys, local wines and Latin and jazz standards, and of course, MMK food selection!
We arrived 15 minutes after they opened on a Friday afternoon and were the only patrons. We were not greeted by the bartender, so we wandered out to the deck. After settling in and waiting for several more minutes, it became apparent that there was no table service. So we went back inside and inquired if they had a wine menu. The bartender rudely nodded his head towards a board with white plastic letters listing the wines and offered no other information, nor a single word. So much for my hopes of learning a bit about the wines and doing a tasting! My friend from overseas suggested we go somewhere else, and I was mortified, as I’ve been bragging about how friendly Kiwis are. I wanted to politely excuse ourselves, but they bartender grabbed a box and walked out on us, without even making eye contact. You never know what people are going through to make them act they way they do, but perhaps it would be better to stay home for the day or find a different line of work that better suits you if this is how you treat customers. The deck and ambiance were nice, so it could have had potential, but absolutely the worst service of any place I’ve ever visited!
A must go spot for anyone who visits Matakana and loves wine and of course food! These guys stock quite a range of wines from different wineries of Matakana. This place had a wonderful ambience with wood fire. Got to taste 12 wines and then go down to the restaurant to have dinner. The staff is very well mannered and the food is amazing! Kudos team!
