Great bacon and egg butty (a proper butty none of this Ponsonby nonsense!) and the best coffee… awesome owner always chatty and friendly. Also the home made sausage rolls are amazing!

Came with my partner in the morning for breakfast. The food was so good, we got bagels and an omelette.everything was so fresh and put together very well. Jax recommend a whiskey hot chocolate, was not disappointed. SO GOOD. Jax is just amazing.and lovely service too

Excellent Cocktail bar! If it isnt on the menu, they will know how to make it. Cool vibes and if you sit inside, its a super cosy spot! Can't recommend it enough!

Love this place! Really comfy seats and great food. The person who served us today was super kind and catered to all dietary requirements. Even saw we were trying to take a selfie outside and came took the photo for us! Highly recommend.

Nice intimate atmosphere. During the day you can sit in the courtyard and enjoy some pretty good food too.

Staff was amazing, the food was ok.apart from that burn it down and start again. Toilet was a joke, putting up decent pagola's would be nice and decent steps.

Cool and collection of great beverages, funky furniture and a variety of spaces to choose from. Need more bar/cafes like this in Auckland.

A regular for me now. The owner, Rene, and other bartender Gracie are such gems. Amazing cocktails, fab venue and great banter.

What a hidden gem. I’m sure it’s awesome at night too, but if you want a quick, cheap, delicious breakfast sandwich in a sunny little backyard terrace, check this place out! The coffee was great too. I loved it. They should update their maps hours as they’re in fact open during the day on Saturday when it says they’re closed.

Came here a few weeks ago with my friend danni and it was amazing! The owner was lovely and the bar was super chill. Really safe vibes and just a generally great time. Please go to this bar if you’re in ponsonby, the service is so much better than bigger bars you can find!

Gracie-mae makes the best bramble cocktails on the market and was hands down the most nicest and prettiest bartenders everrrr, 10/10 would recommend?

If you're looking for beautiful cocktails made by beautiful people in a beautiful place, come to 39! Always have great banter with the lovely owner Rene, and the amazing Gracie! The bar is comfy inside and has a cozy outside atmosphere, especially at night time. Good for a date night or a quite few with close friends. During the daytime enjoy delicious food made by the wonderful Jax. I love this place and I'd rate it 10 stars if I could:)

One of the best kept secrets in Ponsonby, even to locals like us. The best team at the bar, delicious cocktails and such a great vibe. We have been Friday night with a massive post work buzz, then Sunday arvo at opening so very quiet compared, but still the best time all round thanks to an awesome team and sell selection. Give this amazing local lots of love and you will not be disappointed.

At Rene's behest, to go to a 5 star rating from me (I would have put 4.5 already if it was an option), I would mainly want a better lighting solution out the back of the place, staff are already a 5/5

Renee was such a gracious host when I went here recently on a night out. Super hospitable, friendly, fantastic mixologist. Felt like it was hanging out with a friend.
