10 Tim Bray's "The Whale Rider" was an absolute delight to watch and we got a lot more than we bargained for! We simply loved how puppetry was incorporated and how the actors worked them with such ease.
The stage settings, the music and choir, was all top notch and the icing on the cake for us was getting to hear author Witi Ihimaera speak!
My daughter attends drama classes and the school holiday programmes run by Tim Bray. She has become so much more confident and has found her passion! The tutors and staff are all so lovely and encouraging.
I just wanted to say a massive thank you for creating a sensory relaxed session for the lion in the meadow show. My 17 Y/O brother has severe autism and often can’t sit still so it is so stressful taking him to any type of show as he always gets told off for standing up and jumping around. We loved the show so much and I know he did too as it was so relaxing and easy for him as he could just be himself.
I took my two children to the Saturday showing of The Lion in the Meadow this past weekend.
I just wanted to say how brilliant it was and how much they, and I, loved it. Music was great, the actors were awesome.
So wonderful.
Thanks very much.
It was an absolute treat for me to take my 4yr old grandson to a Lion in the Meadow (and other stories) and see him transfixed by the magic of your theatre.
Thankyou!
My young daughter’s first theatre experiences! She was spellbound each time she has attended, both times before she could even walk. While the kids most definitely loved the performances there is a lot for the adults to enjoy also! The acting is superb and the sets very clever. I love the fact that provision is made for special needs children and I purchased gift seats on behalf of my family for Xmas presents. I look forward to more performances!
Fun and fabulous shows for kids of all ages. The shows have been a school holiday tradition in our family and a great way to introduce kids to accessible theatre.
And if you have a budding thespian in the family the classes are excellent too.
I took my 6 year old grand-daughter to see The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch. Wonderful production. The audience had the best time with lots of laughter.
We like to book a school holiday performance as a treat and so far have enjoyed them all. Thanks to everyone involved. Judy Webb
My 6 year old son has attended Tim Bray Youth Theatre for 18 months. The class is the highlight of his week. The class tutors are excellent. The classes are great because they encourage freedom of expression but they also require the children to be reflective and disciplined yet they always have fun. Learning scripts is good for the child's memory.
Another advantage of the class is that the child's self confidence is given a boost when they find the courage to stand up on stage and perform in front of an audience.
My son was given the wonderful opportunity of playing an Elf in the Tim Bray Christmas Production of "The Santa Claus Show" at the Pumphouse Theatre. This was a once in a lifetime experience and he has learnt so much about every aspect of putting on a stage show.
I would highly recommend the classes for children who need to build self confidence and for children who already have plenty!
My son has been on Youth Theatre classes run by Tim Bray Productions.
Its been absolutely great to see him growing confidence in speaking in front of others and being willing to share his ideas with others. He's been enjoying so much as it is also a lot of fun playing with friends together.it's a really great way to get kids involved with learning in social and individual ways.
