Old restaurant, very good service. You need to go with a reservation. I think the food can improve a lot

Auckland's oldest restaurant with a 60-year history, founded on February 16,1963. It has a very classic and calm atmosphere and is very popular and always crowded. The price is very reasonable and the food tastes great. It's a shame that the service is so slow, but it's a good impression that they are making an effort. It takes about 30 minutes for your drink to come out after you sit down, and an hour for your food to come out. Most of the seats are good, but I don't understand why I was given a seat next to the toilet even though there were many other empty seats. Every time someone opened the door to go to the bathroom, a bad atmosphere came in and I couldn't enjoy my meal.

Their steak was good but the meat was slightly overdone for us.
Their seafood chowder was the best we had in our life. A must order when you are at Tony’s.

Very good meal, I had the seafood pasta and my partner had the mutton. We enjoyed it and the portions were very generous, I was able to take it away and eat it for the next evening's meal.

There's a reason why they can claim to be the best steak in town. The beef is tender even if customers opt to have it cooked well-done, an admirable feat in its own. Better still, the classic British style interior adds to the aura of an excellent dining experience. The cheerful and attentive staff also contribute to a wonderful meal. Of course, no restaurant is perfect. With its wide selection of steak, it would be better if the restaurant provided photos of different dishes so customers can know what they're ordering. Also, they could probably rethink the Route 66 style decor under the table mats. Although American culture is indeed prominent in the world of steak, it seems to be a tad out of place in a restaurant like this, which prides itself with its vintage. Great restaurant overall nonetheless!

Fantastic old school joint with a comfortable vibe and great service. We had oysters (great value) and Scotch fillet two ways. My partner's Tony was nicer than my standard Scotch and for once I wish I'd tried one of the many fillets on offer but that's in me rather than Tony's. Recommended

It is a long-established shop. The staff were friendly and very nice. I ordered ginger ale and ginger beer, clam chowder and shrimp, squid and fried scallop platter with salad. Clam chowder was brought separately from the beginning. The amount is large, so be careful not to ask too much.

I really love the vibe here, remain the kind of decoration in the past. A lot to choose in the menu, they have a few selection for lunch set.

Love the steak and lamb shank, well prepared and flavorful. The seafood chowder was not up to expectation, they put only mussels and a lot of crab meat stick in it, not even fish or prawn, a bit disappointed.

One of the oldest steakhouse in Auckland - ordered Tony's original last week, the marinated scotch fillet tasted great. Clevendon oysters were fresh, too. Overall good food, service and decor.

Food not really good. The seafood pasta is a disaster. The Tony Original steak is very chewy and tough. On the bright side the lamb shank and pork ribs are good. Oyster entree was also good.

Good food at great prices. Definitely the place to go for a nice lunch, can't beat it. Dinners would be just as good I am sure.

We celebrated a birthday with a group of 26. The staff were outstanding, the service was outstanding and best of all the food was absolutely outstanding. Every entree and every main was of a very high standard and simply delicious. I certainly recommend the seafood chowder best I have had in years! And secondly my carpet bag steak was perfection. Great night had by all. Big thank you to the team at Tonys.

Pretty nice place and it's an iconic land mark but honestly their signature steak isn't even that good. Their sides are good and the drinks are good but th steak itself is meh

I loved this place, the food was awesome! The staff were lovely and accommodating. The owner was working that night also and she was extra sweet. Highly recommend the steak and the seafood platter yum!

Nice place and PERFECTLY cooked large steaks for a good price. The pecan pie alone warrants a trip there!
