I notice the latest review of Trilect Electrical was from 2021.


On 10 October 2022, a rangehood was installed in my kitchen and an extractor fan was installed in my bathroom; the re-wiring of both were to be completed as well as the installation of a Heatpump and Inverter.

On 11 Oct 2022, workers from

Trilect Electrical Wellington

arrived with no visible credentials, no uniform, rendered no identification, did not introduce himself, or his (assumed) apprentice.

He did not make clear what job he was attending although I waited for him to do so, and proceeded to look at my hallway walls, tapping on them and looking at the kitchen lightswitch plates.

He then looked at my bathroom lightswitch plate, tapped more while his (assumed) apprentice casually stood watching.

As I only have a small one bedroom home, I made as much room for these people as I could, confining myself to my bedroom.

I went to the back of my property for approximately 15 minutes, when I returned, the worker had placed painters drop cloths at my front door and partially in my hallway.

He had unplugged my two extension cords in the hallway, without asking and had seemingly used the outlet:

Before Kainga Ora attends any residential jobs, there is a process whereby the tenant gives or denies permission for the contractors to use the power supply in their home to do jobs, and as a tenant you are completely within your rights to deny. I denied, and signed the submission form.

Kainga Ora's knowledge of this denial is signed and on record.

When I saw what he had done I asked why and if there was a reason he had unplugged my extension cords and he gave none. I plugged my extension cords back in.

This unknown worker then went on to drill three large holes up the wall in my hallway, and another three up the bathroom wall. When asked why, he gave vague, non specific answers in broken English.
The bathroom wall is cracked and split.

I then sent photos to my tenancy manager at Kainga Ora. He called in to the property.
Not much came of this.
As a matter of fact, I was given nothing more than continual lip service.

I have checked on the Trilect Electrical website.

They have no accreditation links.
They have one review which types suspiciously the same as the website.
They seem to think that placing
' and ' around the words
Master Electricians makes them so.

This is in no way a review of the original company or its originators; there is some form of distance between the original company and this Wellington branch.

Peter have been really helpful and responded pretty quick, answered all my questions. The work done by the guys is neat, arrived on time given to me and helped me fixing couple of more issues! Happy with the service, genuine suggestions and transparency of information.

Andrew and Trilect Electrical was a great company to deal with for my solar install. Andrew is very professional and knowledgeable on solar and will only sell and install only what you need without unnecessary add-ons and provides great backup.
The install was done smoothly and quickly at a great price. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

We run the Maramarua Squash Club and we needed to redo our kitchen, pete came out to do a price and realising it was a club and non profit organisation helped us out. He charged half his normal hourly rate and all the gear at his cost, even had some new lights he had on the shelf that were not required so also donated these to the site. The guys came out and were polite and friendly. Job was done and it looks awesome, really happy and good to see an electrical company that still supports the community with projects like this. Highly recommended, cheers to Pete and the Trilect Team.

POOR service, worst customer service i have received in my life, not to mention the bill was 3 TIMES MORE than quoted.these guys are enough to put anyone off tradesman!

Pete from Trilect came out to quote for our gala day electrical needs. On arrival he commented that there would be no charge and he was happy to help. He went beyond expectations by providing an empty van to move gear around and helped set up stalls etc. We were really impressed with his polite and professional service on the day, helping the day move smoothly for all our food stalls. It is really good to see an electrical company that is there to help the community, which is rare to find these days. What is even more surprising is that his children don’t even go to our school. Great work Pete! Highly recommended.

Stay away.rude, obnoxious and worst of all fake reviews from staff members! So naive they think everyone is stupid including customers.i do not know how this pete guy sleeps at night

Can definitely recommend Trilect after considerable issues with our gates were referred to Bob and found the service to be excellent as was the communication from them throughout the job.

Excellent service, they were super helpful and friendly and differently went the extra mile, I highly recommend them.

Firstly when I phoned Peter was awesome - answered all my questions and moved things around so the job could be done for me on the same day.

The guys who attended the job were fantastic - nothing was too much trouble - they were polite and explained what they were doing all the way throughout.

It's hard to find good trades people these days - 100% recommend Trilectrical to anyone after a company who can pretty much do it all when comes to electrical issues!

Fast and extremely efficient. Great service! Recently we had an issue with our fuse board. Pete talked us through making it safe and had someone around very quickly to sort it out. They arrived on time and went about fixing the issue quickly. Checked all the other fuses and talked through the what, why and how with me in simple to understand language. Couldn’t recommend these guys enough. Defiantly will use again. Thanks guys

Service was ok but price was ridiculously expensive - it is actually a RIP-OFF! I had a similar service from them last year and was charged half of the amount being charged this time - it looks like they charge their clients by the mood. Will never use their service again!
