I chose Anita and Vinka Design to help me design my dress as I wanted something unique and special and I only gave her 8 weeks to do it in. Not only was Anita incredible to deal with from the very beginning and all the ay through, making it such a fun process but her gift at being able to see the vision and make it all come together is exceptional. On top of this, her craftsmanship, the quality of her fabrics and meticulous attention to detail make her number one. I thoroughly recommend Anita and her superb team.

I walked into Vinka, I just knew straight away that I was getting a dress from there. I decided to have one made for me, the ladies did such an amazing job! The details and time they put in to making it look exactly how I had visioned was perfect. Their bridal shop is really welcoming, nice music, all set up lovely and they made me feel comfortable during my times there. Anita the designer, she was awesome! There was never a time she made me feel uncomfortable, her friendly kind personality is what you need for trying on your special wedding dress. Her communication via phone was always straight away, I never had to wait. Such a great experience, the dress was my dream dress and I can’t thank them enough!

I struggled to find a wedding dress (tried on over 90 dresses between NZ, Sydney and Ireland) until I finally sat down with Anita and started talking through options/styles etc. Her attention to detail, honesty and invaluable experience were unparalleled and I knew straight away I was in the best hands. The time Anita gave me to ensure the dress was perfection (from the fit to placement of every bead to giving honest feedback and guidance) was so appreciated. I chose Vinka for my wedding dress as I knew they were of the highest quality and had the most beautiful modern and traditional dress designs. I completely underestimated just how incredible my experience with them would be. I met with Anita in my first consultation to talk through ideas and try on dresses and together we came up with a design that was perfect for me. Having a gown custom made from start to finish should be an exciting and special time for a bride and Anita made sure it was just that. Loved every appointment with Anita and loved the result. My dress was based off another beautiful Vinka bride’s dress but there was no problem recreating a version of this for me. Anita and the Vinka team - where to start. Very early on in the wedding planning process I knew exactly what dress style I wanted and to get that in NZ I would most likely need to go custom. Anita was easily the most warm and inviting dress designer I reached out to and is really the fairy godmother we all hope for. She not only brought to life my dream dress but supported me through numerous postponements due to c*vid lockdowns, sending a text or giving a call. I am typically quite body conscious and yet on my big day I felt incredible and have had many comments on my dress since. Anita - thank you endlessly for helping make my big day perfect and making me feel so chic, elegant and beautiful?

I was fortunate to work with Anita on an evolution of the wedding dress that her mother (Vinka) had made for my mother back in the 1980's. It was a special project that spanned generations, and I couldn't have been happier with the final result. From the initial meet, and through the whole process, Anita was incredible. I came to her with a half-formed idea that she was able to grow into a vision. I was super impressed by how she knew how every small decision would come together to create a stunning gown. She brought new life to the dress without taking away from it's character.

After having tried on wedding dresses at several places in Central Otago and Auckland, I was going to resign to buying a dress that I thought looked "fine" on me, as I thought that I mustn't have a body shape that suited a wedding dress, but then I came across Vinka Design. Anita (the owner) made me feel very special. She listened intently to what I had in mind, and designed a beautiful dress with exquisite detail that I felt a million dollars in! She was always so friendly and welcoming, and nothing was ever a problem, despite the number of consultations that I had with her. She has such a huge range of beautiful materials and wedding dress samples to inspire a custom made wedding dress. She also tailored everything to how I wanted it, including the short timeframe in between the date that the creation began and the wedding date. If you're after a custom made wedding dress, look no further than Vinka, and you won't be disappointed.
