Vodka Room

Love this place. I went there to try some Russian food, for social dancing nights (Baila Auckland) and different private functions. It was always nice and clean, friendly stuff and warm atmosphere makes every experience pleasant.

Big plus - Russian karaoke.
Minuses - didn’t serve the room (Bear one). Don’t have food, expected that staff will be Russian in Russian restaurant but it isn’t.
Also bad cocktails

1st Dinner spot after NZ lockdown and we had a great night. Our dinner was very early evening so restaurant was a little quiet however we still had a lovely time. The food was yummy value for money and the cocktails were made with lots of love and VODKA). Great staff, highly recommend.

These guys get you to do a job for them, then they don't want to pay. Don't answer phone or return message or emails

I've been here 3 or 4 times. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is pretty unique, the service is great. Dishes are small but order a few or more to share. Enjoy!

The food was great, but close despite the schedule. We went there 2 more times all closed and nobody picked up the phone. Pretty sad.

After a couple of years of walking by and always being curious about a place seemingly so aptly named, had a short visit just for late night, post-event drinks before they closed. As such, only got to browse a vodka spread that I never knew existed and a few cocktails, but the sample still left me intrigued for a further food review some other day. From the front and back room alone, it was completely decked out in what I would have thought was almost stereotypically Russian with the gold and crystal decor. Looked like they might have some side rooms too; I hadn't confirmed. So for now, can't give it a lower rating given wasn't anything to discourage other than expected price.

Perfect for a private function. We loved the decor and the themed Karaoke rooms. Platters were TINY for the price! For $55 dollars there wasn't much on a platter! Also closed quite early for a weeknight party, but we had great service and everything wee needed was there. Thanks

Thank you, Vodka Room team for a great night! Loved having a private room just for our group and the private bar I noticed that the staff who was in charge of our group on the night was going the extra mile to make sure that we have a great time. The food was good too!

We had our work's Christmas function at Vodka Room venue. Really enjoyed the food, and drinks list was pretty impressive. Had a good time.

Best Russian food in Australia/New Zealand. I wish there was something on the same level in Australia. Here is what you want to get:
Vareniki - cheese and potato dumpling with truffle butter. Get some bread to scoop the remaining truffle butter, I promise you will want to do it.
Plov - it comes with beef ribs that are extremely tender.
If you know what Salo is, get it. Tastes just like you would get at home.
Wash it down with a Kimchi Bloody Mary and a fly of vodka.

Wonderful lunch experience today! Fantastic decor, food and vodka but also artful service from our waiter - the best in a long time. This made the experience doubly enjoyable - thank you so much. (Regrettably I do not recall our waiters name). We will be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed the food at the Vodka Room last Saturday night. It was a set menu and we all commented how lovely the food was. We then went into the Kareoke Room which was great and would like to say how friendly and efficient our waiter was.

Karaoke rooms are great! Preas for vodka button is a genius touch. Service was friendly and fast! Didn't eat but would love to. Will return for sure

Food, service, drinks list. Brilliant!
Arguably the best dumplings I have had.
The caviar is something else with the dark rye bread with butter.
The lamb just fell off the bone and was very flavoursome.
The half chicken was moist and delicious.
Honestly, for whoever is reading this, if you want to try something different that will have you talking about for sometime to come, give this place a try.
Oviously when we think of Russia, we think of Vodka- huge selection. My recommendation would be to do the Vodka flights.
Price point would be middle ground. Great value for the dollars.
Only downside is finding a car parking spot in the busy Ponsonby streets (recommend taking an Uber).

Great service and staff with a really cool atmosphere and bar. Portions are a little bit small but they are really unique and delicious. Loved the dumplings and the cocktails!

Was a good night, except you have to manually selected songs for the VODKA ROOM Kareoke, which is slightly annoying because you can’t search via a tablet, this is because I was paying $100 an hour which isn’t cheap! - otherwise was a good night.
