Had (and passed) my practical driving licence test here with a very friendly instructor! The instruction was calm and clear! Thank you to such a responsible assessor!

This is a nightmare practical test site, and the officer Paul is a monster, his job is to find fault in your driving details and make you fail by all means, i failed 2 times under his hands, never try a test here or at least avoid this guy.

Was on hold to this branch for over an hour today, and did not get through to speak with anyone. One of the calls was answered after 20min but nobody spoke, just answered and ended the call. Would be useful to have an answer machine or callback option if nobody picks up the phone.

Very strict and non-sense, didnt pass driving test cause a I havent looked in the back mirror everytime before I started brake. The instructor smelled like an alcoholic aswell and was very unfriendly his name was Peter C.

I keep going here because it's close to work and, subconsciously, I believe that proximity is somehow the only factor in determining convenience.

However, this is a VTNZ. And like all VTNZs it is fundamentally disfunctional and an affront to customer service, efficiency, and convenience.

Today's goal was to get a WoF. I stopped in 10 minutes prior to opening and the queue was already 2 deep in each of the 3 lanes. So I came back at 4pm and parked at the front of the first lane. I stood in the payment queue for half an hour, only to be told that they close at 5pm so they won't have time to inspect my car. 3 other people left the queue on hearing this.

I have no idea why they advertise being open until 5pm if they can't accept vehicles even an hour prior to that. I have no idea why they can't put a sign up saying "sorry, we're unable to inspect any more cars because we're chronically understaffed and don't believe in paying overtime so we can inspect the vehicles that turn up well within business hours even if we're now officially closed".

I feel sorry for the administrator given that the bulk of her job appears to be to apologise to people for being unable to provide the service they've come for.

Passed my full license yesterday. My test officer, Peter, was very strict. This was not my first attempt, I realized that it is never the test officer, whether you get the easy test officer or not, it doesn’t matter, it is always up to you on how you delivered during the test, so come prepared. Peter was straightforward and easy to understand, very professional. Thank you to the staff, everyone was accomodating in this branch, highly recommended!

I first visited to renew my licence ready for my restricted driving test, however arrived too late but the lady who ended up serving me asked me to come early on test day and sort it out then.

Test day was today and I arrived about 2 hours before my test (just for my own peace of mind) and the same lady helped me again with my paper work. When I came back again for my test, the entry to VTNZ was blocked full of cars waiting for WOF/COF I’m assuming, so we had to wait on the side of the road. I swapped seats with my mum and went inside to tell them I was there for my test but couldn’t get into the car park. Another lovely lady directed us to what would normally be the “exit” and managed to get a park inside.

My instructor was Ron and he was amazing! When I told him I was nervous, he told me not to be and that I was doing great. Clear instructions, made me feel super comfortable and I managed to pass on my first go. Thank you so much Ron! Hope to see you again for my full licence test

This place deserves NOT even one star.
I wish to give than minus Zero
A hopeless worst place for driving test. Do not recommend. We went today.the indian Instructor had a rude attitude and on his horseback.only looking at his watch.appt was 3pm, wen it became 5min.said times up, sitting on his ipad in the waitg area.we didn't even set for driving test, money wasted. Lady at counter said if u rebook need to pay again. They have good way of reaping customers at this recession time.

I came here to get my wof however my car failed it’s inspection. After talking to the mechanics it was hard to distinguish at first why it had failed. Initially one of them said it was because my brake lights were not working however after I tested them, it turns out they do work. As a result they corrected this error. Nevertheless my car still failed in the end because of a small bit of rust that is barely visible in the boot. This seemed pretty harsh considering that it had always been there in my previous inspections. Overall based off my experience I would not recommend coming here to get your wof.

Busy VTNZ place, lots of people coming for licensing, checking their cars and different matters.

Car parking is a real difficult task here, unless you come early in the morning.

Staffs are okay, not particular friendly but not too offensive, just doing their job I guess.

Worst place to do a practical licence test.
I was failed for not stopping at a stop sign which I did on every stop sign and and not signaling going straight ahead which I also did I just didn’t lock the indicator (just tapped it for a couple seconds)
The guy was hard to understand and I know for a fact I was in the right. I could pay to do a lot of test I’m so I’m not bothered about the money it’s the bad service.
I’m 45 years old passed my restricted first pop when I was a teen and 30 years later fail when I’ve been doing a lot of miles much more than this stupid instructor has had vindaloos.
Vtnz should be banished for good we don’t need them.

The license testing officer here was horrific. If you get one by the name of Jaspreet (I think his name was) good luck! He was so extremely rude, made me feel mega uncomfortable, acted like being just relatively friendly would’ve killed him. He asked (very nicely) inside the building if my sister was going to be my support person, and I said yes. Then as soon as we got outside, he said I don’t think it’s a good idea for her to come, and he turned to her and said she should stay back. (Probably so she couldn’t advocate for me when he failed me wrongly). He failed me after not watching me correctly, said I didn’t check the mirror and over my shoulder before changing lanes, when I know for a fact I did because I wouldn’t of had changed lanes without knowing whether someone was there or not.

Anyway, I went to the Pukekohe branch and was tested by Donald instead. He was absolutely lovely, he engaged in normal conversation at appropriate times, calming my nerves and allowing me to pass my test with no issues. He allowed my partner to come with us with no hesitation.

Do not visit this branch if you are sitting a driving test. I can’t believe how horrible the experience was!

Only one person serving at the counter during a busy period, it took over 20mins just waiting to pay for my WOF & $78 WOF cost, but once I was paid the inspector was waiting to begin the check.

Very busy place. There were only two staff in around 1 pm and it was packed. Within 20 minutes another staff member arrived and she was lovely. She smashed through the clients while the other two staff were painfully slow.

I personally recommend VTNZ Sylvia Park is the best place to opt for the driving road test. I am fully satisfied with their support and services offered on October 6th to qualify my test successfully. I would like to mention about my driving instructor, Mr. Paul who provide me a good guidance and clear instructions during my test and absolutely happy to say that he did an excellent job as an instructor. His good behaviour towards the candidates to make them feel tension free which helps us to perform well. Thank you Paul and much appreciated your support.

I highly recommend to do not book your practical driving test. Not good place for practice test.

Took the van in a few weeks ago for its WOF failed on 2 things. Small dent in the panel (panel not structural) and wanted me to get 2 holes welded over that was in the wheel arch. It comes like that from the factory, if I did what they asked I would of been off road for weeks not being able to work losing thousands of dollars in income. Took it for a second opinion and passed with flying colours

Feel like there should be a more comfortable waiting system as I’ve been here for hours and been told off for sitting by the desk with a chair.
