We all lead busy lives. Westgate advertised on the window and website as open until 5: 00pm. Staff showed no interest in processing an application for replacement drivers licence at 4: 15pm. Sassy response that they finish up at 4: 00pm, meanwhile other staff standing around making derogatory comments about other customers with me still in the office. Unprofessional and disappointing service.

Trainer's name is Srikanth He don't know too much of the law. How he can work as a trainer. Thanks. We are not here to play with you, we are very busy so please don't torture others so many times.

Not the best government office, staff were slightly slow, place need a fresh look and cost of paint. But you’ll get your work done for sure.

Instructor Mithin G was the meanest instructor I've ever interacted with, he was too scary and too strict. He didn't even smile at me ONCE. My feelings are now hurt and it's all his fault.

My experience with instructor Zubair at VTNZ Westgate was an absolute waste of time. He abruptly stopped the test, claiming I didn't stop at a stop sign while turning left. But come on, there was a car coming from the side – I definitely braked and moved only when it was safe. The speedometer showed 0 (I triple-checked because I don't want to fail lol), yet he insisted I didn't make a full stop. It was so absurd that I burst into laughter.

When I tried to defend my case, he remained adamant that I was wrong. I wish I had trusted the reviews I read before. If you're looking for a fair and sensible driving test, definitely consider other options. What a frustrating waste of time.

10/10 service! Sat my restricted test (finally), great organisation, manager on duty didn’t grab his name but he’s tall, looks Indian was going in and out making sure everything was done right. Seeon the receptionist was so friendly & direct and Lauren my tester was clear, concise, made sure I understood everything.

New Lynn VTNZ had me running around bc they’d cancel my test without any notifications/no rescheduling and didn’t really care overall with rude service.

Appalling and rude service. I rung to book my daughters written driving test. Was told I could come up immediately and get it done. We arrive, wait in a queue to be told no, they are not doing anymore written tests today.
Come back tomorrow.
I explain that I had rung and what I was told, but no the woman involved has decided she isn’t doing anymore tests today.
She was and is very rude. Her attitude is terrible and she shouldn’t be dealing with the public.

Really rude staff member at the desk aka reception wasn't no help even when I was trying to explain what I was needing done. Won't be back and definitely go to another nzta in a different area hopefully they don't treat customer like that.

Indian man that does the testing seems to dislike his job a lot. Mumbles and is hard to understand and then shouts at you when you say you can't hear him. Would be worth putting a dash cam in the car if you're doing a test with him because his analysis of your actions and decisions is definitely not accurate. Fails people just for the sake of going home early, you hear about it all the time. He seriously needs a review by the company

Came here to support my daughter sit her restricted Drivers License and we got a “instructor” named MITHIN. He was terrible, pulled her up on trumped up “failures” but the weird thing is that was very apparent to me he had already set out to fail her as the drive was only 10mins long? It’s old news that instructors have a quota to fail a certain amount of people…. This is unethical and wrong. I sat in the back and videoed the entire test, he was rude and condescending. I see he has many complaints and bad reviews but VTNZ persevere with his employment there. If there’s no action taken with your hopeless, rude and obviously prejudiced and predetermined mission of MITHIN to fail drivers and take money from people then I will take this complaint higher.
Do something about it VTNZ, I won’t let up…. Disgusting service. My daughter and I drove all the way out to Pukekohe a week later instead and we were greeted with a wonderful instructor that was very comprehensive and the drive was at least 25 mins long and she passed. MITHIN, you will be held accountable and shame on you VTNZ Westgate for allowing this to happen and setting up drivers to fail for revenue and persisting with unethical and incompetent employees like MITHIN. I will make a formal complaint with the through the right channels if you do not rectify this asap.

I had my test drive with Zubair. At first he ask me if I can start the exam earlier than scheduled. I said yes! Then he went back inside and after few minutes he called me and said "Are you coming or not? " -Sounds aggressive. Me and my companion did not get any instruction from him that we need to follow him inside as it was my first time.
All through out the test I felt traumatised as I was approached differently and was intructed with loud voice.
Ive done stricter driving tests, undergone proper driving classes and has a 2 driving license in different countries. Never experienced that kind of treatment in other examiners even in other countries. Apologies for this, he is rude. I can clearly he was telling things to my face with a loud voice.

Don't take your driving test here! My partner took five tests in this branch and failed every time. To be fair, two times were her mistake but the next three were only to fail her. Every time she had a different instructor, and all of them had different opinions and interpretations of NZTA rules that, according to them, must strictly be followed. Or translated to plain English, we will fail you because we can. On the other note, recording driving tests is forbidden, so even if you want to challenge the instructor, you can not. If VTNZ is so sure that the rules were followed to the spot, why not allow the recording of the tests? I am very disappointed in the whole approach of the driving test, which in the end results in more people driving without a licence, bad driving on the road, and more money for NZTA. Thank you.

I was cautious after seeing the majority of the feedback here.but my experience was actually really, really, good. Today I sat my full drivers test. I had a wonderful instructor, Mary Ann. She provided clear instructions, was polite and lovely to talk to. If you know how to drive, and you follow the road rules, your experience should be all good:)

Finally sat my restricted and passed? Thank you Ange for today. Friendly and so professional. You are awesome. I held off for years because I was to scared to get it but when I met Ange she basically made me feel comfortable. THANK YOU ANGE

Would be good if testing officers use clear instructions and can be easily heard, perhaps donning the mask makes it harder for the driver to hear especially when you can only hear muffled instructions, also don't yell or be intimidating when the driver says "yes they did signal" & not their fault if tester did not hear the signal.just repeat the instructions - not a biggie.call it FAIR

Customer service at this branch is absolutely horrible!
I wasn’t going to give an review but it needs to be highlighted - DO NOT GO TO VTNZ WESTGATE!
I have tried to block out my interaction there as I was treated with unkindness, total no understanding with nil customer service.
Unprofessional……?
Your reply tells me you won’t take action unless my complaint is “offical”
I am not the only one that has complained about Westgate VTNZ.
Surely you see the pattern or you really don’t care!?

They didn’t give me a WOF on the bases of having the wrong sticker description of how many seats I have in my Van. This sticker was from the manufacture. After contacting multiplier companies, they all didn’t understand what I was requesting and told me whoever failed me on this doesn’t know what they are talking about.

The vehicle passed everything else, so it made no sense.

I believe they should have done their due diligence prior to sending me on a wild goose chance. Not happy.

Read Carefully before you choose VTNZ Westgate for your Driving Test.

- Most of their instructor is unprofessional and rude.
- They drop your driving confidence by keeping failing you for stupid reasons. (I Challenge them (All the instructors) if they pass any driving test by following their own Criteria)
- Some time they finish your test in under 10 mins by failing you.
- I think they work on target base, not your driving skill base.
- I think if you have a connection in this VTNZ then you will clear your test on 1st attempt otherwise you have to go for at least 4 times.
- If you keep booking in this VTNZ all the different instructors keep failing you for all the different reasons (they got more than 1000 reasons to fail people)
- Please always put your reviews after your driving experience.
- Do not complain to VTNZ for VTNZ as you won't get any result. Make a Complaint to the NZ transport and transport ministry to teach them a lesson.
- To go to VTNZ- Westgate for a driving test means- a waste of your time, Money, Losing confidence, a Toxic environment and rubbish service.
- After review, you will receive a stupid message from the owner for sorry and asking you to complain in VTNZ by filling the form but don't waste your time as I have done and no result came.
- Please take this review seriously as I don't want any young driver to lose their money and confidence by choosing this VTNZ.

Friend I accompanied sitting her driving test was turned away by staff named Charlie saying she needs to make an online booking with AA centre. Told him we already booked a driving test online. Didnt bother checking the system just said he couldnt find the booking. Even told us he speaks perfect english even if its his second language so we better communicate properly next time. My friend was unable to sit her driving test. Didnt assist with rebooking. Very arrogant staff.
