VTNZ Kumeu reviews
42The customer service is amazing love the ladies on reception and the guys who does the cars use are just amazing
Receptionists were professional, friendly & very helpful. The technicians were absolutely awesome. 4th July 2023.
Thoroughly recommend them.
Pam & Ian.
Good friendly staff, an they dont mind explaining thing's.
Yes I've had good experience here
Renewed my licence with the lovely Karen today, she is one in a million
And had a chat with Glenda too
Two unique ladies, happy and smiling
With a warm greeting when I arrived AND an awesome coffee to boot
Thank you both
Dont get me wrong, whilst this is not a good review, the lady at the front counter was very nice, very polite, informative and a good person. The front counter lady represented VTNZ Kumeu in a good light today, 5 star performance for her.
But…
Every time I have gone here for a WOF I have to wait for extreme amount of time. It’s not because they are busy, it’s because they do not employ enough staff to cope with the queue.
Today I was only the third car in line and the estimated time for me to get through this place was 1 hour and 20 minutes = 1 and 1/2 hours when you allow for minor delays.
Sadly, it is the same every time, they employ too few people so they can maximise their profit but this means their customers mean nothing to them, their customers can just wait.
How else does a queue of 3 cars at 10.45am = a 1.5 hour delay? Answer = Making customers waste their time means nothing versus minimising costs and maximising profit.
There are other places that can do a WOF.
Super easy experience. I went in twice in the last month or so. Firstly to renew my license which was a quick easy process and secondly to get a WOF when I realized it expired that day. It was $78 for the WOF check and the process was again easy, park in the lanes and then head inside to pay and wait.
Intellectually deficient staff that use their own interpretation of current rules and regulations.avoid
Great service 1 hour to get cof for motorhome last one was 5 hours at Silverdale worth the drive thanks all staff
Heresa looked after me with total awesome
Customer service. She was attentive, professional and knowledgeable.
Highly recommend Kumeu VTNZ…
For the first time in 4 years, my faithful but very well loved 2009 Hyundai Elantra failed its warrant, and the manner in which this was done was disappointing. I have had the same car, same 18 inch wheels, same 225/40R18 size tyres for the last 4 years up at South Head, and it has passed warrants at VTNZ stations (either this one or Parnell) on every occasion during this time. This time, however, I had an older white male at VTNZ Kumeu tell be "It's failed on four tyres - they're stretched". As a 60 year old man myself, I was unfamiliar with this term, and contested this saying that they were not old tyres, with one being brand new as of that morning. His reply was "I didn't say that", not explaining anything else about the problem, the criteria by which he arrived at the conclusion, much less what I should do about it. I have since had it explained to be that "stretching" is something "boy racers" do, and my runabout is as far from a racer as I am from being a boy. I went to Firestone Helensville (they put two of them on, the others being from Arrow Wheels in Glendene), who confirmed that the tyres are perfectly appropriate, not stretched, and moreover confirmed a that larger 235 tyre would simply not fit. I then went for a third opinion to Helensville Mechanical Services, who thought they well within tolerances for a warrant which I got then and there (rather than making another 40km round trip and waste another half day). I think this was poor of VTNZ Kumeu because their technician was either incompetent or biased and vexatious. There are no other alternatives, and my subjective opinion based on his attitude is that the latter was his problem. I would encourage other people to be careful of this VTNZ, and seek the manager out if you have a weird outcome (this is of course what I should have done in the first place). If you have sporty wheels, I advise you to go somewhere.
Was a great experience coming here. Phoned up in the morning to ask some questions about CoF as it was my first time getting one. Lady on phone was easy to talk to. Went in an hour later only 1 truck infront of me so was in and out with a new CoF really fast! A+ service would highly recommend getting your CoF here.
Terrible experience here today.
Between testing officers yelling at customers over masks, Grumpy receptionist. (Totally ignored me)
Not a very welcoming place.
You need to drive like a perfect Robot if you want to pass your driving test here.
Well run, motivated professional staff. Getting a CoF was efficient and relaxing. Far better than the Silverdale branch.
Love the receptionist here. She is so kind and just super lovely. She needs a payrise or bonus. Great service as always.
I've been to VTNZ Kumeu twice recently and both times found the customer service less than friendly or helpful. They need to remember that not everyone knows the why's and hows so a little patience would go a long way towards a nice customer experience.
The receptionist here was so helpful and the staff were very informative
I will keep coming here as the customer service and services offered here are of good value.
Went at the end of the day so only 2 in front of me. Great everything being on computer now so no forn to fill in. Staff are great. Was very happy with everything.
Really disappointed with VTNZ Kumeu. In the past they had been great with doing our 4WD and Horse Float.
We got our 4WD and Float checked last year. Both failed. The 4WD we did slightly expect as there was some rust. However, the float failed on "all lights to comply". We were told that the lights "all flashed and went crazy when they turned the lights on". However, I took the float straight away to another mechanic and showed the mechanic the WOF Fail Form. We turned the car on and the lights worked perfectly fine. It passed its WOF straight away.
As for our 4WD, we were unable to get it into the panel beaters until just the other at due to a massive backlog of work from Lockdown and then having Christmas and New Years etc.when I explained this to VTNZ they had absolutely no compassion and I felt totally pushed to the side and was told "you either pay again or you can go somewhere else". Really frustrating as we have come to VTNZ for a few years now.
I've paid this time round but probably won't be back again. Disappointing.
No problems with the reception lady and the friendly mechanics, but the guy in hi-viz patrolling the queues outside for covid info was officious, humourless, and made us feel very unwelcome. Not the right kind of person for the job.
Very disgusting that the young indian male who inspection my heavy vehicle picky so many faults that are not true, I will be challenging them with land transport via a proper heavy vehicle mechanic and a panelbeater very expensive fee of $170 I had some problem previously with wiri vtnz that got sorted I will never ever use VTNZ ever again they are not mechanics nor are they educated well about negative 3 rating from me
