Every interaction with this company is negative. Basic stuff is done wrong and rectifying issues isn't easy. It needs a complete overhaul. It's the only utility company that I have problems with. Ended my service and will go elsewhere. Wishing you the best but needs some work and from talking to others, I'm by far from alone. Best of luck.

Very disappointed with the service supplied and the customer service (when you can reach them).
I have only been with this company for a year after moving into a new house in a new area and paying to get our general rubbish & green waste collected. Multiple times the bins were not collected on the scheduled days and told to just leave bin kerbside until collected which could take days.
Just got renewal price for general waste bin and the price has risen from $84 to $205 for the year, when i rang to find out if this was a mistake they told me No - it is correct?
For such a big price increase i would expect much better service so i have cancelled my services and gone to one of there competitors, which on first impression is cheaper & better to deal with.
Just as example while I write this review I have been on hold with Waste Management for 26 minutes waiting to get my credit note sent back to me (don't know why I expected anything different).

Not good have now missed our rubbish pickups 3-4 times.today they picked up the rubbish bins on our street and blatantly left our bin unserviced 9th Nov 2022 Wed.

They have a modern truck that doesnt give a modern service (Red wheelie bins).
We need the emptying and wheelie bin service because of the cat population.

Not good seeing the bins on our street emptied and arrive home to see our bins still filled? Our bins are always put out on time and when we contact them they try to flick this off. Once last week they arranged another pickup day for another missed pickup.

We live right at the end of 32 Mcshane Street 32 Pukekohe if you would like to see us.

WASTE of time disappointed with customer service!
As a customer been with WM 2+yrs had no problems no complaints. Made yearly advance payments for monthly collection…WELL TIMES HAVE CHANGED NOW…
Ever since WM have changed schedule days of collection on a monthly basis My garden bin has NOT been collected for 3 months straight, every time I have called and last time I have spoken to a human being which was two months ago, I was told to leave bin on kerbside and will be collected. Did that, week has past not emptied, brought my bin back, putting my bin out on schedule day of collection, months has gone past, still hasn’t been emptied. I have given up calling as I am waiting online for more than 45mins or get a message and then cut off. Unacceptable service. I have emailed, and WM most recent email response, there was a delay for 15/09, Collection was on 5/10 and the driver came to collect at 8: 47am our bin was not there.
WELL OF COURSE IT WASN’T THERE CAUSE YOU DIDN’T INFORM ME THAT THERE IS COLLECTION FOR THAT DAY!
This bin is still full and waiting on the kerbside, COME AND COLLECT YOUR BIN, I DONT WANT YOUR SERVICE ANYMORE.
You have lost a valuable customer.

Driver appeared to have had mishap with garden waste bin, found contents of full bin dumped on berm, bin left lying on the road. 2nd bin had been emptied. Rang WM on 4 occasions over nearly 2 weeks to ask them to clean up mess, Much time spent waiting on phone, In the end gave up as garden waste was drying out and blowing everywhere in wind. I put the whole lot back in bin, and cancelled my contract with WM.

Pathetic service and Bullying experience.

Garden bin pick up rarely happens on the scheduled time. The excuse they gave is “drivers couldn’t locate the bin “ although it’s out there visible. When you call they give you another date and then driver miraculously finds the bin.

When they sent me the invoice, I disputed some collections which never happened but they refuse to believe and still wants me to pay the full amount. I never got the explanation, apology or justification for why should I pay for missed collections. At last I asked to stop the service for which I got charged $23 to close the account.

I still got no answers for my previous invoices. Cut to after 1 year with no communication in between I got email from an external third party credit control tram to pay the outstanding amount. I asked has waste management tried to resolve the issue with me before contacting you to. Which they had no answer. I asked waste management if they tried reaching me at all in last 1 year to pay the outstanding amount and resolve the issue and they said “ no we haven’t”. When I said my concerns for missed collections are still unresolved they asked me to contact customer service teqm and resolve it. All they do is just collect money although they work for the same company. I spoke with a guy named Kunal from the accounts team who was very rude and unhelpful to say the least.

I stull couldn’t reach anywhere with them and ended up paying the amount to avoid more dramas and waste of energy and time.

Overall rating of 1.3 says it all for waste management company.

EDIT:

Twist in the story. After 6 months or so, I got an email from waste management saying details of many customers like me were erroneously forwarded to the credit company and therefore were charged wrongfully. They have now apologised and refunded the money.

Absolutely terrible service! My account was an absolute mess and we were over charged by a huge amount yet we couldn’t get credited for the extra charges … that I believe is classed as “Stealing”

So many bin collections were missed and it’s a nightmare to get in contact with someone for help.

Have been yelled at over the phone when questioned about our billing.

Very over priced, such a waste of money and so thankful we have cancelled our account with you.

Only time I have ever left a negative review but the service from waste management has been absolutely atrocious. 4 times in a row they didn't collect the garden bin as requested through their app. To make matters worse they collected the neighbors bin next to it and left mine. After Countless phone calls, emails, Facebook messages and web enquiries I have nothing to show for it except a load of lost time. I would not recommend them to anyone - in fact I would suggest avoiding them at all costs.

Just terrible. Subscribed a residential wheelie bin.pickup was sporadic. Sometimes they tuned up, sometimes they didn't and we had rubbish sitting curbside a for a week. Even after i cancelled they never picked up the final collection and took the bin away. Just an utter shambles.the shame is that we wanted to use a wheelie bin to save on disposable rubbish bags and do a little something for the environment.however these guys just make it all too hard.

First negative review in NZ. Really really really a rubbish company. I feel really regret to choose them from beginning. Signup from last year. Never collected the gardening bin on scheduled time and never explained. When I am trying to bring this to their management, the channel doesn’t exist at all. It should disappear from NZ forever. Such a horrible company.

One of your trucks almost crushed me between his truck and trailer, and carried on moving over after I held the horn down. Driver then felt the need to abuse me with hand gestures like it was my fault. Tried calling to give this feedback but after 10mins on hold at reception I gave up.

Poor & dangerous driving, clearly the company culture is poor if your driver is going to abuse me while in your well branded truck.

This is a real Rubbish company!

My bin should be emptied by Wednesday, but wasn't been emptied on that day. I called, the lady told me it would be emptied by Thursday. I called again on Thursday, and was told that would be emptied by Friday. I called on Friday, and was told that had been emptied even it was still full!

And then told me it would be emptied by next Tuesday!

Rubbish collection company is really rubbish; waste manage company is really waste of time.

Please read the feedback and avoid this company.
The missed pickups, non existent service, and double billing are just the beginning. After over a year we gave up. Guess what, we're still getting bills for a service that was cancelled long ago.

I know a senior manager in WM absolutely low IQ and useless. This is funny you cannot even find out any simple data form this company.

Hi, i moved house and signed up for a year.the truck tried to pick up my bin 4 times.each time they had an excuse of why it could not be picked up.then another 2 times they told me the bin wasnt out, which it was. Not sure why they have such bad communication with the dispatch team and why the truck drivers can not pick up bin when its right there for them. Now trying to get my money back and they will not even reply. Such a head ache.

I've had rubbish not picked up on the usual day a number of times, and every time this happens my landlord and I get reassurances that the truck will still come around later that evening, or another pick up day will be organised ahead of the next usual pick up day.

The customer services team on the phone is always lovely (hence why I gave 2 stars not 1). However it is rare to be connected to a person, usually I have to wait a long time. Sending them an enquiry from their website doesn't get answered at all, even though the automated email says they will get back within 2 working days. It's a joke.

We are always given excuses and promises that they will do something about the problems - But none of it gets actioned.
