Carol was extremly rude and unprofessional.

During our visit, my husband and I accompanied our two young daughters to the mall with the intention of purchasing either books or toys for them. My three year old daughter was particularly interested in toys that had a “TRY ME! ” sign on the packaging. Following common practice, I allowed her to play with these toys for a brief moment to help us make a decision.

After she had spent approximately a minute or two playing with a Vtech train, Carol approached us. To our astonishment, Carol addressed my daughter in a manner that can only be described as discourteous and unprofessional. She instructed my daughter to return the toy to the shelf and used a rude tone when my husband asked why we couldn’t try the toys before purchasing. Carol replied with sarcasm, elongating the wold “try” and said “how long are you planning to “tryyyyyyyy”, then pause for a second, and said “for half an hour? ”? She also made comments suggesting that our interaction with the toy could deter others from buying it, insinuating that we had no intention to purchase it. Her tone and attitude were dismissive and belittling.

We ended up spending our money at Toy World (which their staff was amazing!). Carol was so rude to my three year old girl. I would give a zero star rating if I can.

Visited this store on a trip up from Hamilton and the staff here were great. Managed to find what I was looking for and the counter clerk was great. Would recommend

Wonderful, helpful staff. We visited Auckland for a week and spent a lot of time in Whitcoulls Botany. Every member of staff we encountered was super-friendly and helpful. It's a pleasure to shop there!

I went to get some books for the grandchildren. Love this store. I am sorry that they have had to downsize.

Very interesting the range of books for everyone.there is not reason for not read one of those!
Also the varieties of puzzles.but still can't find puzzles with New Zealand images.any idea?

They have more variety of jigsaw puzzles compare to city branch and new market branch. They also have many board games, I bought Sushi go here.

Very good customer service. I went to there to shop for my daughters stationery. One staff came over and asked if I needed any help even tho he was busy with stocking up. I told him I needed to find the list of items and he helped me with the list.i was amazed at how patience he was in helping me find the list and guided me with the options as well. He was very helpful and if i ever needed to buy any other stationeries, i will go back to Whitcoulls only.same day i went to warehouse stationery, the staff was rude and didn't even wanted to help me a all.just pointed to the direction where i can located the items until i told him that i already looked and could locate it.he had to search up in computer to help me and giving me the inpatient attitude.comparing the two stores, Whitcoulls is highly recommended.helpful and patient with every customer.

Went in and got the book I requide. Staff member showed me where it was. So I was only in for about 5mins.

I love the Botany branch of Whitcoulls. The service is always great and the staff so polite, efficient and patient.

The store was well staffed, I was looking for a particular book and the person who served me did her very best to find it for me, her hard work was unrewarded but impressed me for her endeavors.

Botany whitcoulls is the nicest branch I have been in. Very happy team of assistance. Allways there to help with a smile. Very clean and tidy shop, easy to find what you want and allways well stocked.

Small shop but decent range of books and games. I like that the staff write reviews. They are really helpful too if you ask about the reviews. Will definitely be back!
